Low key place with good food and a great bar! Â You're sorta out in a parking lot wilderness if you make it here - but it's kinda nice to be out of the village. Â The place is small - and even on weekdays it can be packed out the door. There is a deck - just depends on the weather. Yeah - there's like one server and things can run a bit slowly. Avoid the lunch rush and it'll be fine. If you are expecting something fancy or wipe your ass service don't bother. This place serves up good food and drink at very reasonable prices - if you want something more head back to the village.
Review Source:One of my regrets about moving farther away from Squaw is that I cannot be a regular customer of the Cantina. Â (I'm also rather surprised that I haven't reviewed this place yet.) Â Whether its beer, sea breezes, or margaritas, before or apres ski, this place is the spot for people in the know. It's close to the locals' lift and is the locals' bar at Squaw. Â (Suck it Chammy.) Â Also, the nachos are great and plenty for two people.
The one downside is that it's a little expensive, but considering the setting, it isn't a rip off, because it's not like you'd save any money in the village.
The food is awesome, the service is terrible. Â But it's not her fault they only ever have one person working (at least every time I have been). Â
If you order a Shifter as your first drink, you will get a $1 PBR. Â What a deal!
The nachos are bomb! Â And they easily feed two or more. Â Just the great thing after a morning full of riding.
Great example of a ski-town dive bar. I hit this place up with an old high-school friend and spent the night recounting old stories at the bar and bsing with the bartender/owner (great guy). The locals typically pile in and tear up the dance floor (there was a dj that night), which makes for some great entertainment.
Review Source:Cornice Cantina was awesome when we went last week. I don't know who served the 1st reviewer, but we were served by the nicest ladies around. Awesome margaritas and served to us outside. Yummy nachos and burrito bowls. It was nice to get out of the Squaw Village and just chill out on the sunny deck. I'll always go back.
Review Source:This is one of the most unfriendly place's I have ever been in Lake Tahoe. I'm born and raised in this beautiful town and enjoy almost everything here, except for this place. The staff was incredibly rude. I have never been treated so awful in my life . The bartender sooo mean, and  I have heard the same about her from other people too. I believe she is the kind of woman that just doesn't like other woman for no reason. If you want to have fun and enjoy your time DONT go here:)
