Cosmic Charlie's

Mellow crowd, accommodative staff and surprisingly good live bands.  The food is a surprisingly high end rendition of the standard bar classics.

Must be in need of a plumber, because the bartender was mopping off and on the entire time we were there. That meant I could smell the must dirty mop, not only while she was mopping, but while it was sitting (stagnant) in the HAND WASHING SINK.
Upon receiving our food, I had to ask for napkins and utensils, never got the utensils, because I asked her to wash her hands after handling the mop.
After she returned (about 10 minutes) she was telling the "regulars" how she does not get mad if a customer is mean or rude, she just "walks away."
Wonder if that is where she went when I asked her about washing her hands?

Our food tasted good, but it appeared as if the prep was done as a kindergarten project. Burgers were misshaped and there were large spaces of empty "bun" around the burger. Shame the cook did not notice it and fix it!

Have you ever had bacon cheese fries? French Fries, smothered in bacon bits and cheese and then it is all melted together.

Remember, NO UTENSILS???
I would not recommend the place at all.

It was a Friday night and my friends and I were trying to find a place to hang out and relax around Hunter/Tannersville area. We settled on Cosmic Charlie's, drawn by the quirky name and the laidback atmosphere.

It's definitely a locals bar; one guy brought his kid son with him and hung out by the bar counter the whole time.

There's local live music and you can look it up on their Facebook page. They have a website address, but it's expired...

I had a glass of Shocktop and my friends had Sam Adams and house pinot noir. The wine was pretty lackluster but the beers were decent since they fresh from the tap.
We left after our first drink.

Overall, it is an older local crowd with nothing particularly special that will draw me back again.
