The Coug

I was in town with a WSU Cougar Alum for a recruiting event. Needless to say, I wanted to get to a "Coug" watering hole. This was the place and I am a fan!

Great classic burger.  No frills here but that's not the point.  Burger has a squishy bun and everything is delicious down to the American cheese anchoring everything in place.  I loved that all the components of my cheeseburger was balanced and it was like taking a bite of WSU culture.  Did not partake in any libations but I can see why this place would be popular with the students and returning alumni.

First and foremost, I want to say I LOVE the atmosphere in the Coug. There is no other place that I have ever been that shows the same amount of pride in the surrounding area and the community.

I gave the Coug 4/5 stars because until recently, it only served beer and Boones. As this is my 4th and final year at WSU, I did not spend as much time here until this year. People who were not avid beer drinkers tended to shy away from this establishment. However, now that their shelves are stocked with hard liquor, the Coug is a one-stop shop for all of the WSU population 21+.

Stop in for some fries or tots and please, please order their mozzarella sticks. They are TO DIE FOR. Wash it down with an ice cold Blue Moon and eat the orange wedge to get your daily dose of Vitamin C.
