Conveniently located in the heart of downtown "Historic Brookville" the Courthouse Grill & Pub is one of the few restaurants along Main Street. Heck, it's one of the few restaurants in the whole town, but anyway...
There is plenty of seating, although I've never seen it really busy and filled. They offer decent traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner options, none of which will get you worked up on either the great or horrible side of the fence. Same goes for the service. However, the prices are very reasonable, but then again, remember where you are.
Not too far off the highway and a great change of pace from the usual franchise chains that dot the Interstate rest area. Â We had a large group of about a dozen people and we were seated quickly with no fuss. Â
Our request for separate checks was met with a smile even though we had couples scattered all over the table which made it that much tougher for our server.
The food was great and the portions generous. Â
An added bonus for the big city folks is that this is located in the middle of a friendly small town that seemed frozen in time. Â Made for some good exploring after a large lunch.,
It was...ok.
It was clean. Â The food was passable. Â It is directly across from the courthouse, so I am guessing they have a captive audience and are not really required to have great food and service as they will still get business. Â It shows.
Our waitress was rude. Â Guessing she was annoyed she was working on Super Bowl Sunday...or annoyed that she had to help customers.
If you're desperate for food during your drive through Pennsylvania (like we were) then you could do worse than this place. Â You could do better too. Â The food was ok; we had the burger special (when in doubt, just get the burger) and it was passable. Â Seems unlikely that I'll return, and I'm not too broken up about that.
