The location and being able to sit out on the patio overlooking the creek is the main reason to stop in here, I have to admit, but the food and the beer are a very close second.
Their twist on a classic reuben (with cranberry balsamic braised red cabbage) was incredibly tender and flavorful. The lime/chipotle/cilantro bbq sandwich was fantastic for those who like cilantro. Two novel and delicious takes on common sandwiches.
To ignore the beer would be a crime in a review, so I will say that their double IPA is extremely well-balanced and smooth drinking, given the amount of hops and alcohol involved.
The one gripe was with the restroom setup. There was a group of ~10 tourists that came in and ate lunch while we were out on the balcony. Right as we were getting ready to go, they all seemingly headed to the restrooms at once, and it literally was over 15 min before we could use one and leave. While the tourist group is an oddity, I'm not sure what the situation would be like on a very busy fri or sat night.
Came in for lunch - it wasn't busy but service was fairly slow. Ordered the shrimp scampi special, and it was anything but. Tasted like something I would make at home (I'm not a good cook). And it was served with white rice, not pasta - weird. Plain butter sauce with tiny shrimp. I won't dine there again.

Large restaurants in SLO are hard to come by and it's even harder to find a location that will allow you to host 60+ people. But Creekside to the rescue! My husband arranged the event with Travis (Creekside's Manager) and had a great experience. Travis was responsive, direct, and had plenty of great ideas on how to handle an event of this size. Travis explained that our event would be a first for Creekside and they really went above and beyond to exceed our expectations.
The service and food were great and the atmosphere is perfect for a laid-back, fun evening. We got so many compliments on the location and food.
