Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Pretty packed. We both ordered small cheeseburgers and they were so good! For dessert we opted for the cookies. We bought a mixed bag of half dozen HUGE cookies. They're a little crispier than I like, but the Ranger cookies are pretty good. Next time I want to try the cinnamon rolls...they looked delish!
Review Source:Here's my story about Crofutt's:
My dad used to leave early in the morning sometimes to work in Port Lavaca. Â My sister and I were always so excited because we knew he would stop at Crofutt's and get us a bag of cookies. Â He always did!
In 1997, my dad died.
In 2006, I was driving through Bayside and saw Crofutt's, so I stopped in and grabbed a bag of cookies for my sister and one for myself. Â My sister was, at the time, living in San Marcos, TX, but I intended to mail them to her.
However, I had to leave for a business trip that afternoon to Houston and never got around to mailing them the few days I was away. Â I dragged this pitiful bag of cookies the entire way with me. Â By the time I was boarding a flight back to Corpus, they were broken into a million pieces. Â
At the airport in Corpus, I was waiting at the baggage claim when a woman approached me and asked me where I got the cookies. Â I told her my background with Crofutt's and how I had good intentions for the cookies. Â She took a piece of paper out of her purse and asked me for my sister's address. Â She was one of the owners of Crofutt's.
A couple of days later, my sister got a package of giant chocolate chip cookies from Crofutt's!
I can't express my love of this place. Â It reminds me of being a kid - but now I have a LOT more respect for amazing food. Â It's definitely a "Mom & Pop" kind of place, but everything tastes amazing!
And to the owners - thank you for sending those cookies to my sister and bringing the memories of excitedly waiting for our dad to get home knowing we were getting a Crofutt's treat!
