Skip it. Everything we ordered tasted like old deep fryer and was very greasy. Drinks are way over priced as well as the food. ( everything also served with mayo for dipping sauce...fries, fish, calamari...gross ) Â They had the doors open so bugs were everywhere. I guess if you want to grab an expensive drink it's ok but skip the food and the stupid square plates.
Review Source:This is the kind of place you can take a big group of friends when you want to catch up over good food and drink. Â The menu has something for everyone--burgers, salads, ribs-- though the strength, in my opinion, is in upscale versions of classic meat and potatoes American fare. Â
It was hard to decide what to order...so many interesting choices.
The calamari appetizer could feed four people. Â It was *excellent*, served with two sauces for dipping. Â One was a garlic aioli; both were very good but I would have preferred a little more heat or kick in the sauces. Â
I finally decided on a risotto dish with asparagus and grilled portobello mushrooms. Â Tasty, but a little heavy for a hot summer evening. Â Big portions, so you are definitely getting your money's worth. Â My companion enjoyed the prime rib which came with smashed potatoes and delectable green beans.
We were too full for dessert. Â I definitely want to go back for lunch to try the burgers and sweet potato fries. Â I'm also dying to try the chicken-fried chicken, and sides like mac-and-cheese. Â But that trip will have to wait for colder weather, when comfort food will sit better with me. Â In the meantime...lunch, or a night out with friends to grab cold beer and appetizers would be perfect. Â Maybe sit on the outdoor deck and watch the sun go down.
The bar was busy, with a friendly crowd who seemed to be having fun. Â I liked the low-key vibe. Â Service was attentive and professional.
The young owner and waiter was very charismatic and friendly. Â He gets your name, remembers and makes relevant recommendations. Â The burgers are amazing! The Irish fries are pretty good--think fried potato chips with a spiced yogurt sauce.
The restaurant is in the back. Â In the front, there is a pool table and bar. Â There is also a patio that apparently comes in use during the summer when they serve seafood and have clam days. Did I mention to try the burgers?!
This place has good food and great people. The burger is great along with the philly and wings. If you want a good philly ask for the spicy BBQ its not on the menu but its soo good!! Go for the sweet potato fries as a side or the mac-n-chz... As for the bar it has an amazing back bar and nothing is over priced.
Review Source:First time experience and I can't tell enough people about this place. The bar has a total NYC feel and still really comfy/homey. Everything I tasted was sooo good!  Nothing crazy too crazy on the menu, just simple and well cooked food. The mac & cheese, "mess" sauce wings & burger were soooo yummy!!  I thought I had the most amazing waiter in Ithaca but turns out he is the owner who I heard was from the city, which def explains the décor & unique wing sauces.  He was so attentive that we were just finishing our beers and he already had fresh ones :) He sounds like he really loves the family feel to his restaurant, just a really nice dude. I'm trying not to go back today that's how much I enjoyed this restaurant.
Review Source:This place is great. Â As for the comment on the owner being a thief, I would question that. Â The owner treats his customers very well from what I've seen. Â He's from the community and as a young business owner, he breaks his back to ensure you're happy.
They've got a pool table, darts, touchtunes, quickdraw, and an AMAZING liquor selection. Â Great atmosphere and interior finishes.
The food is good, nothing spectacular, but definitely solid pub food. Â Good beer prices, their drafts are fresh, served in the appropriate glassware (like previously mentioned), and they have $2.25 PBR 16oz slammers all day every day.
The crowd is townie, but still open to everyone passing through. Â Not intimidating for a stranger.
The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is very good, and I love the bar area, but unfortunately the owner is a thief. That's kind of a big strike that overshadows the good. He has been quoted as saying he adds "special tax" onto certain customers tabs. I was one of the many that was purposely overcharged. Because he is charming you fall for it and pay it anyways. DO NOT.. I REPEAT.. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TAB OPEN AT THE BAR. Its a shame that such a nice place can be ruined by an untruthful owner.
Review Source:I love it when you randomly drive by a place, decide to check it out on a whim and discover how awesome it is totally by chance! Â This is what happened to us with the Crossroads Bar & Grille in Lansing.
What I like most about the Crossroads is that it's completely unassuming. Â It looks like a run of the mill bar that serves food. Â One side is the bar and the other side is the restaurant separated by a half wall. Â Sure they serve up your standard bar food fare but the difference is that it's amazingly good and relatively cheap! Â
Tonight, my husband and I shared the special: a full rack of carolina style ribs which came with coleslaw, super tasty sauteed broccoli (who knew?!) and bacon & cheese grits "fries". Â The ribs were truly unbelievable....the best in the area in my opinion. Â They weren't slathered in BBQ sauce but covered with a delicious rub and cooked perfectly so that the spices formed an almost caramelized crust. Â We were totally stuffed for only $20.99. Â I was excited to find out they had Ommegang Abbey Ale on draft.....delicious with the ribs and oh so classy! Â After we paid the bill, our server came by with a complimentary brownie which we ate even though we were still full. Â
A perfect end to a perfect meal.....the Crossroads Bar & Grille does not disappoint!
