This was a great place for an informal family gathering. Â We went on a Tues. night last month, so several members of our party took advantage of the Tues. pizza special. Â I opted for the cheeseburger and fries. Â It is an inexpensive and very social spot to eat and drink. Â It was an ideal location for our get-together.
Review Source:Great wing special on Thursday night $.15 / wing. Â $.39 peel and eat shrimp. Â It has been years since I was there. Â It has kinda lost it's cred as a dive bar. Â They have really cleaned it up. Â I liked it the way it was. Â :(. Â The wings were really
Good. Â The shrimp were big, but a little overcooked for my taste.
Hands down, the bar food is great. Â You don't have to drive to Alton for a Fast Eddie's meal- and, a heck of a lot less crowded! Â The shrimp are amazing- consistently thumb sized and cheap. Â Drinks are good, priced about average. Â Go for the food. You'll gain 5 lbs before you know it, ;)
Review Source:I can't believe there isn't a review for this place. In the Metro East, there isn't much nightlife compared to the MO side. I've heard about this place for months, but due to bed rest I haven't got out much. Last weekend, my husband and I said let's try a few bar type places to see if they are worth getting a sitter for after the baby is here. Everyone that has went here compared it to Fast Eddies. Hmm... Not really. They have a grill area that you have to go up and order like Fast Eddies and their food is good, pretty cheap too. I was impressed with their burgers, fried mushrooms, and fried mac'n'cheese. Their drinks are pretty cheap too. My husband ordered a few beers and they were cheaper than most in the area.
They have a stage where bands perform as well. I don't particularly like how the tables are set up. It's too cafe-ish for me. When we left though there was a pretty packed bar. We will definitely come check it out again when I can throw back a few drinks as well.
