I dig this place! This neighborhood bar is known for their wings, and rightfully so because they're fantastic. Had a hickory burger as well & I'd definitely recommend it. Now we were there pretty late, and it was full of regulars so the staff was a bit comfortable & took longer than they should have to tend to my buddy & I. But the beers were cold, the food was hot & if you like the neighborhood sports fan feel, then the ambience was just right.
Review Source:SHAME ON YOU DANGOS. People work hard for their money and want to enjoy a night out with out getting price gouged!! Are you going to start selling Gas too??!!! We went to Dangos on the so called "wing "night and the first hint should have been when two people in our group order water and the other two ordered sodas. Well the server brings out two bottles of purified water and two glasses of ice. Shame on me for not asking why they didn't get tap water. We all ordered one dozen wings and an appetizer to share. We all got refills on our drinks. So now we are up to four bottles of water and four sodas.
The wings were good and the appetizer was okay. And then the check arrived. Are you EFFING kidding me Dangos???!!! $3.99 per drink times 8 equals $31.92!!!! Unbelievable!!!! Never again will I eat at your restaurant. Our total bill was over $50.00 dollars when it should have been about half that on your so called "wing" night. People don't like being taken advantage of. Please put signs up or put it in your menu. I wouldn't ever wish bad luck on anyone but I really do hope you lose business because of this review. Again SHAME ON YOU. Open a gas station if you want to overcharge people for your product. ZERO STARS!!
Went there on a Saturday afternoon, wait staff was awesome, super attentive, and even helped a few of my buddies play a practical joke on another friend. The food looked okay, but I didn't have any. Looked like mediocre bar food.
They had a 'okay' selection on tap for beers, but they were running $5+ for a pint, and that was a little too expensive for me to be cool with, considering the quiet kind of neighborhood feel of the joint.
Well, I heard about 5 cent wings at this place recently, so two Wednesdays ago, we headed up to Glenns Falls to see about these wings. You can order a dozen wings for 60 cents. I'm already a fan.
So we get there and the place is absolutely busting at the seams with people. I liked the vibe. We were seated relatively quick and ordered drinks. Hubby has a beer and I had the worst glass of red wine ever. It might have been a bad bottle because it was awful. I didn't finish it. We also had side salads, which were pretty pathetic. Iceberg lettuce (yuck) and some mealy veggies. Not good. Hubby ordered some jalapeno poppers that he liked, but I've definitely had much better. I didn't care for these at all.
Finally, the wings came. I have been told by a native Buffaloan that wings should not be sitting in puddle of sauce. They're supposed to be just covered, not soaking. This place had them soaking in the sauce, and I freakin' love it! The wings were awesome. Some of the best I've had since discovering the complexity of wings upon moving to NY.
I would have given this place 5 stars based solely on the wings and the service, but since we had other food here that was disappointing and their house wine tastes like poo, they only get 3.
Went to Dango's over the weekend with the family as part of R&R. Had a craving for wings since we are in football season and the week prior I had some great wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. The place is not aesthetic pleasing (a bit decrepit), but that's not what I was here for.
We ordered mild and spicy BBQ wings. They got to us within 15 minutes and they were great. Crispy, plenty of meat, and satisfying.
I also ordered an extremely large chicken parm that was not actually large, but deceptively disguised to be. They put ample cheese within and around an over-sized hoagie. Nevertheless, it ended up tasting OK.
This place is a big sports bar with plenty of screens and a large beer selection. I had an IPA for the first time since moving back from CA. It was very refreshing.
So, I suggest going to Dango's and sticking to the wings. If you want to venture to try something else, don't say I didn't warn you (kiddin').
Some of the best wings I've ever had!
Extra points for getting me to eat carrots. I usually want to puke after tasting raw carrots, but I tried again at Dango's and no gag reflexes ensued. Super fresh veggies, everything was on point.
Wing night wait was about 45 minutes, unfortunately.
I've decided to start yelping my hometown. Â
Dango's is what it is. Â It's a Red Sox bar in the middle of upstate New York that has pretty good beer specials, a disgusting bathroom, very good chicken wings, and lots of TVs to watch games on.
They try to sell themselves as a "steakhouse" but unless you've lived in the boonies all your life you'll never actually think of this place as a steakhouse. Â It's a dive bar. Â But it is one hell of a good dive bar.
Chicken wings are 5 cents on Wednesday nights. Â And even though the wings suffer on "wing night" because of the sheer amounts they need to produce these wings are better than almost anything you can find in big cities such as Los Angeles, Boston, or Washington DC. Â Upstate NY is all about the wings and this place has some of the best in the area.
If you're in Glens Falls (especially if you're in town for an event at the Civic Center) dango's is right down the street. Â While it isn't a steakhouse...the steak is actually pretty damn good. Â The wings are great.
And last but not least...and the reason that this amazing dive bar gets 5 stars? Â Best Rueben hands down. Â I've eaten quite a few...this Irish dive gets it right.
