went here with my wife for first time and it was wonderful. the restuarant has 2 rooms - one room has a nice mountain/country feel while the other room has a lovely victorian feel with the red paint and white moldings is beautiful - and either room you can still see the band. the bar area is nice also. music was upbeat and really great. the food was also delicious. for appetizer the brie cheese was nice as well as the french onion soup. for dinner my wife had stuffed flounder which was excellent and better then most places down the shore. i had the ny strip steak which was juicy and tasty. the creme brulee was excellent as well. the feeling in this place because of the decor along with the candles on all the tables and just the way it all looks inside is something to experience and we will be going back more often.

Took my boyfriend here as part of a surprise birthday weekend getaway in the Poconos.  I found out about it online and thought "hmm....jazz bed and breakfast in the Poconos?  Could be fun."  I was incredibly pleasantly surprised!

First of all, I got the Queen room jazz package, which includes the room, 4 hours of live jazz, and dinner.

The room was clean and had lovely antique furniture.  The bed was comfy and the bathroom was totally modern. Had great water pressure and great hot water!

The food was incredible.  I had the crab stuffed flounder, which was served over a bed of perfectly cooked risotto and I ate every bite!  My boyfriend had the strip steak, which was HUGE, and perfectly cooked.  Then dessert was spectacular. The creme brule alone is worth the drive from Jersey City!  And the wait staff was friendly and attentive.

And the jazz was incredible.  I know it's different every weekend (a reason to go back over and over!) but we saw pianist Eric Doney and violinist Zach Brock.  They were amazing!  They did wonderful arrangements of new and old favorites and performed brilliant original compositions!  The Steinway piano had great sound and there wasn't a "bad" table in the house for hearing the music.

The inn is snuggled into historic downtown Delaware Water Gap, only a few short blocks from the trolley (also recommended!), mini-golf, a cute bakery, and antique shops.  Highly recommended!!!

Let me start by saying that we have been to the Deer Head Inn before. We stayed in a suite and had dinner in the restaurant last fall. We had the pleasure of seeing Bob Dorough perform.  As our anniversary is this week, we were excited to learn that he was playing again so we rented a car (we live in Brooklyn) and emailed and called in advance to secure dinner and show reservations.  Upon arrival the hostess (maybe owner?) was very short when she greeted us and sat us at a tiny bar table with an obstructed view of the stage.  My boyfriend asked if we could have a table to see the show as we were having dinner, or even if we could sit at the bar facing the stage. She was extremely offended by this and said we would need to give her a minute. She proceeded to seat people walking in without reservations AFTER we arrived in prime tables.  We were finally moved, however, she was not happy about it and complained that I did not bring my menu with me.  My boyfriend got up and went back to the bar and picked our menus just to avoid conflict.  Luckily, we had an excellent waitress, Kim, who made our night enjoyable.  We realized that it is definitely a place that treats locals as family.  Sad that we couldn't have been treated a bit better as we love to frequent places such as this who still appreciate the jazz classics.  The music, as always was the reason to go.  We won't be going back.  We were made to feel out of place and unwelcome.
