    They get one star instead of zero because the people working there were very friendly. Unfortunately the food was very bland and overpriced.

    The brisket was dry, flavorless, and had an unpleasant grey color. The pulled pork had little flavor until I soaked it in some Cholula. I couldn't taste any smoke in either of the meats.

    When I asked what types of barbecue sauce they had, the first she mentioned was Sweet Baby Rays. At first I thought she was joking until I saw the bottles on the shelf. The second was their "Carolina Red" which tasted nothing like any barbecue sauce I've ever tried growing up in North Carolina.

    We got slaw and spicy beans as the sides, which were good and the only really good part of the meal.

    All of this for $16? I could've eaten twice this much and still not been full.

    On the website it said they had "sweet tea" as a drink option. When we got there we discovered it was canned Arizona sweet tea.

    Definitely won't be going back.

    There's not a lot of good food in the sticks of Pennsylvania. To me, this qualifies. I've been around the country, and while a true Southern BBQ can easily get 5 stars, I was actually fooled by this one and asked the owner if he was from the South. So if you Dixie transplants miss the homeland and feel like northern variations on BBQ aren't cutting it, this is definitely the place to go. I would make the trip here from anywhere in a 10 mile radius, even granted that it's such a tiny place and easy to miss. (Don't miss it! Seriously!) I had the brisket sandwich in the homemade Carolina sauce, and it was delectable. It's hard to find good brisket, and they passed my test. The sauce was tangy and just a little spicy - I'd never expect something like that up North. The spicy beans were amazing, and ask about the fried banana peppers!

    So why only four stars? I feel like the menu options are a little too limited. There are only a couple of sandwiches, and the platters are very expensive ($20 plus or minus a few). I wonder if the platters can feed two? Also, it's only open from 11 to 8, or 11 to 6 Sundays. (Closed Monday and Tuesday, no big deal.) Anyway, we talked with the owner (very nice man) and he explained that his main business is catering events. So yeah, stop in here every so often for your BBQ fix as needed, but definitely give them a call for your event catering. As this place grows (it only opened in 2011), hopefully they expand their menu options, and then I can tack on that fifth star!

    Looking for some lunch while taking a day trip in eastern Pennsylvania, a friend and I decided to try Mighty Fine Swine BBQ instead of the many, many pizza places that populate that part of the state.  Owned by a gentleman who decided to turn a barbecue hobby into a vocation, the restaurant also doubles as a barbecue catering service.  I decided to try the pork and cheese, which is mac and cheese topped with pulled pork.  Add some Carolina red sauce (a vinegar based BBQ sauce) to this dish and you get a tasty meal with a bit of a kick.  I also tried the pulled chicken sandwich, which was very scrumptious.  I'd definitely come back here and try some of the other various pulled pork or brisket BBQ offerings on the menu.
