My husband and I were in Hot Sulphur Springs for a weekend getaway and decided to pop into the Barking Dog for a pint. Â We enjoyed a couple of brews, ate some great fish and chips and hot wings from The Depot next door and had a great time playing (free) pool and shuffleboard. Â Best of all was the incredibly friendly service and the warm welcome of local regulars. Â What was meant to be a quick bite and drink turned into a full night of fun storytelling and laughs with a new group of friends. Â Consider this a must stop on your next trip through Grand County and tell Jean Marie and Elsie hello!
Review Source:I got to visit beautiful Hot Sulfur Springs Colorado yesterday, and it was lovely!
We stopped by The Depot Cafe for a quick lunch after a long soak in the nearby springs.
The cafe was clean and conveniently located on the main street, HWY 40.
The owner Summer greeted and served us quickly.
The options for lunch were good, Green Chili (which I loved!) served with a warm tortilla ($6), Chef salad with ton's of meat and veggies($8), Hot Cocoa ($1.45), Burgers, Pizzas, Desserts, along with Beer and Wine.
I can't wait to stop by The Depot Cafe again on our next visit!
The County Seat has been in business for many, many years. Â It recently changed it's name to The Depot, but you still hear the locals refer to it as the County Seat restaurant. Â
There's not that many businesses in Hot Sulphur Springs that run with consistency, but this restaurant and bar has been running strong. Â Serving all-American food like burgers, onion rings, hot wings and pizza for lunch and dinner, and a great breakfast menu too! Â
My favorite though it hanging in the bar in front of the TV, playing FREE pool, chatting with the locals and drinking ice cold beer! Â They have great appetizers like their homemade chips with cheese sauce and sweet potato fries, but the best are their hot wings. Â My husband and I crave them and typically try to talk Summer (the owner) into cooking them up for a late night appetizer. Â
The hours are iffy, but as long as there are people drinkin', the place is open!
