Yes there were a lot of cars parked out front, but I think some of them belong to the people who work there. Â The restaurant was not very busy when we were there. Â We started with fried pickles as an app. Â They were thickly breaded, crispy and very salty. Â They were also super greasy; there was a pool of grease under them on top of the wilted lettuce leaf they were served on. Â Our friends both got burgers which neither finished and explained that they were very greasy. Â I ordered a "mountain man" burger which was a mix of different game meats including buffalo, elk and several others which I cant recall. Â I thought it was good. Â It came with onion rings on the side which were also good. Â My bf ordered their special, elk and pheasant sausage quesadila. Â I tried a bite of the sausage and thought it was terrible. Â It was like eating a jar of seasoning spice. Â I guess it was ok with the quesadila because he took the leftovers home. Â They have a big screen tv and a bar. Â The service was good, but the food was too greasy and salty to eat there again.
Review Source:This place would get 4 stars if it were in Denver, but in Granby I'm giving it 5! Â There's something about getting a very good burger with friendly service up in the mountains that just can't be matched anywhere else. Â We were looking for a place to eat in Granby after driving and hiking through Rocky Mountain National Park and the first couple of places we looked at didn't pass the "car" test. Â In case you aren't familiar with it, the "car" test is, "Are there a lot of cars parked out front?" Â There were a lot of cars and a lot of motorcycles. Â We received a friendly greeting and friendly service throughout the meal. Â The waiter said I chose his favorite burger, I forget exactly what it was, it seems like it had bacon, jalapenos and BBQ sauce. Â He even hung around for me to take my first bite to make sure I enjoyed it!
Yumm! Â
They had a very diverse menu, but it looked like everyone was ordering the burgers and sandwiches and staying away from the Rocky Mountain Oysters.
There burgers are big at 8oz! Â They have a variety of meats: bison, elk, wild boar and it seems like something else. Â I was able to finish my plate although my love could not finish hers. Â Great value for the money.
