Yes there were a lot of cars parked out front, but I think some of them belong to the people who work there. Â The restaurant was not very busy when we were there. Â We started with fried pickles as an app. Â They were thickly breaded, crispy and very salty. Â They were also super greasy; there was a pool of grease under them on top of the wilted lettuce leaf they were served on. Â Our friends both got burgers which neither finished and explained that they were very greasy. Â I ordered a "mountain man" burger which was a mix of different game meats including buffalo, elk and several others which I cant recall. Â I thought it was good. Â It came with onion rings on the side which were also good. Â My bf ordered their special, elk and pheasant sausage quesadila. Â I tried a bite of the sausage and thought it was terrible. Â It was like eating a jar of seasoning spice. Â I guess it was ok with the quesadila because he took the leftovers home. Â They have a big screen tv and a bar. Â The service was good, but the food was too greasy and salty to eat there again.
Review Source:This place would get 4 stars if it were in Denver, but in Granby I'm giving it 5! Â There's something about getting a very good burger with friendly service up in the mountains that just can't be matched anywhere else. Â We were looking for a place to eat in Granby after driving and hiking through Rocky Mountain National Park and the first couple of places we looked at didn't pass the "car" test. Â In case you aren't familiar with it, the "car" test is, "Are there a lot of cars parked out front?" Â There were a lot of cars and a lot of motorcycles. Â We received a friendly greeting and friendly service throughout the meal. Â The waiter said I chose his favorite burger, I forget exactly what it was, it seems like it had bacon, jalapenos and BBQ sauce. Â He even hung around for me to take my first bite to make sure I enjoyed it!
Yumm! Â
They had a very diverse menu, but it looked like everyone was ordering the burgers and sandwiches and staying away from the Rocky Mountain Oysters.
There burgers are big at 8oz! Â They have a variety of meats: bison, elk, wild boar and it seems like something else. Â I was able to finish my plate although my love could not finish hers. Â Great value for the money.
Good food, huge portions. I would split a meal if I did it again but if you've ever been to Granby you know there's not much to choose from so we picked this place cause the reviews looked good. Very friendly waitress but we had to find someone to be seated. Not too uncommon for a restaurant in a tiny town. Good burgers, chicken fingers, salads, stuff like that. We had two adult meals, one kids meal, and an appetizer and the bill was $40 before tip. If you're just plain hungry and need something in your belly and you're near Granby, I'd recommend this place.
Review Source:So we're driving across the country and I'm relying entirely on Yelp to tell us where to eat. After exploring Rocky Mountain National Park for quite some time, we were ready to snag a moose if we saw another one. Maverick's popped up on the interwebs yelp machine and, based mostly on the dozens of motorcycles parked outside and partially because the options were scarce, we headed straight in. The employees were welcoming and friendly and we had great service. The food came out almost uncomfortably fast but everything was freshly made and completely delicious. Prices were good and bathrooms were clean, perfect for a quick lunch pitstop! We didn't have the guts to try the Rocky Mountain Oysters but maybe next time....
Review Source:This place was deserted when we ate here, which gave us excellent service. Food was pretty good. We ordered some fried pickles- LOVE, and the award winning guac. Now I am from Southern California so I think I actually make better, but for CO it was pretty good! Now the best part of the meal was the Green Chili- also an award winner- it was amazing. I would pay for the recipe and my kids wanted to buy a barrel to take home with us. It really is that good! The rest of our food was also delish! We would come back for sure!
Review Source:If you're looking for a low key, reasonably priced local cusine, this is the place. Nothing fancy about the decore (except for the large moose head in the dining area) but the local menu options are worth the visit. Anything with green chiles is great esecially the green chile soup as an appetizer. Service was good although a light crowd for a late June evening. My wife and I ordered the Buffalo Mushroom Burger and the Elk Downhill Burger which had green chiles. Also kid freindly menu available but we couldn't convince them to order the Rocky Mountain Oyster's for an appetizer. :)
Review Source:We stopped here after a long day of driving in the mountains. It was around 3 pm on a Sunday and the place was decently full.
The servers were all very friendly although they took a long time to take our order and to et us our card back. But the food came fast.
They have a very diverse menu with salads sandwiches and meats. The portions are very large too. In a town like Granby where you don;t have very many options this is a safe bet on where to get a good meal.
