"Did this place used to be a strip club?!" I should have turned around right then and there. No, No. My adventurous spirit wouldn't let me back down. Besides, it was my Big Sis' birthday and I promised I would go.
Yep, the place used to be, maybe still is, a strip club. Mirrored walls, black, shiny tile, an elevated "dance floor" with the cheesy lights everywhere. Mmm hmm...I know your history, "Desiree".
Apparently you have to be 25 and older to get in, which was an additional inconvenience. We were there for my sister's birthday party and some of the people attending were 22,23. They allowed them in due to the size of the party. That was nice.
So we scored a table ordered some drinks and that was the last we saw of our waitress. She vanished. We ended up going to the bar for our drinks. The bartenders are pretty rude, but this was a rough crowd.
The DJ seemed to have a mix of booty shaking music or line dances like the Cupid Shuffle or the Electric Slide. We got up and danced a little bit but I felt like I had to pick up dollars after I was done.
Would I go to Desiree again? Um, no. Was it an entirely horrible experience, not entirely. I have just seen better former strip clubs.
