For the price, the food was okay, not great. I had the pork flat iron, which was good. My wife, the chicken enchiladas, which were pretty average. The red sangria was awesome, and you can't go wrong with the beer sampler. The view out the back of the mountains is amazing, and worth the trip back. Service was very good, and the wait staff is well trained. Any time there was an empty glass or plate on our table, the next waiter or waitress who walked by would pick it up. They all did it, which was a nice thing to see. I wish all restaurants would train their staff so well.

My husband and I have eaten here twice and we'll be going back even though it is an almost 2 hour drive to get to Devil's Backbone Brewpub for us.  The first time we ate there was in the fall.  The weather was fantastic and lent itself to outdoor eating.  The patio is wonderfully landscaped to enhance the dining experience.  We happen to have had the same waitress both times we've been to the Brewpub.  She was friendly and very knowledgeable about both the food and the beer with just the proper amount of attentiveness.  We've sampled 7 of the beers so far (their flights are a terrific deal even if you don't like one of the beers!).  My DH loves their Vienna Lager while I enjoy all but the IPAs - no reflection on DB as I don't like any IPAs.  Between us, we have tried the Chicken Enchiladas, Reuben, DB Pulled Pork Sandwich (enough meat for 3 sandwiches!!!) and Fish and Chips. Everything we've had there has been fantastic.  I highly recommend Devil's Backbone Brewpub

The food was pretty good overall, but too bad our experience was spoiled by an inattentive, rude waitress with a poor, snippy attitude.
Saw people around us getting good service and having a good time -- too bad that didn't happen at our table. Although the menu stated to ask any server about certain things, when we did (it was our first time, and we curious about the beer flights, what it meant that certain beers were "growler friendly" etc), the server gave a quick, incomplete response, seemingly like she didn't want to waste her time.  She was at our table 3 times asking for our orders within our first 5 minutes of sitting down, so while we were trying to read the menu to make entree selections, the 3 of us ordered an appetizer to share -- the spicy fried dill pickle spears -- 5 of the 6 pickles in the order were delicious!  The 6th had been fried until the beer batter coating and its contents had "exploded" -- like a "ripper wiener"--  and 90% of the pickle inside was black and crisp to the look and consistency of charcoal.  When our waitress brought our entrees, I mentioned to her that the one "pickle" left on the appetizer plate was inedible, without saying a word, she picked up the bowl with that last one, turned haughtily, and rushed away.  Each of the courses came quickly (my soup arrived immediately after the appetizer), so we assumed she would bring a replacement pickle in a few minutes.  We never saw her again until she came back to the table to confirm that our meals would all be on one check -- when she brought the check, I looked at the bill and said "it isn't a real big deal, but I'm just curious -- are you not going to do ANYything about the inedible pickle?"  Her response:  "it wasn't inedible, the coating had just fallen off."  When I explained that it WAS, in fact, burnt to an absolute crisp and totally inedible, she snapped up the bill, my credit card, and said "I'll get my manager."  Unlike the quickness of asking for our orders and delivering each course, this wait was not quick.  Finally, she returned to the table, alone, said the manager had taken $1.50 off the bill, put the bill on the table, and left without further acknowledgement. No apology, no regrets, no care!
I just felt sad and more disappointed than ever.  When I first mentioned the inedible item, had she simply said "I'm sorry"  or made ANY attempt at ANY common courtesy, the evening might have been saved, my usual generous tipping would have come into play (as it was, my "under tip" of about 12% was more than she was worth), and I would consider returning another time.  The food and beverage bill for the 3 of us was about $60 and we bought more than $100 worth of merchandise -- guess we just weren't good enough customers for them to feel we were worth any courtesy!
