I grew up in Weaverville, and would walk through the diggins as a young child when I was bored after school. (My dad owned the grocery store next door, and there's only so much to keep a third grader interested on so many slow afternoons...) Â
This is one of my two watering holes of choice when I'm back up to visit the 'Ville, and having a drink here always makes me smile as I think about my parents, who are no longer alive, and how much they would admonish me for walking through the bar in the middle of the day. Â And yes, the bar was always full, with loggers and the like turning to watch the grade schooler walk through like he owned the place.
Cool little dive bar with great people(don't let any gruff exteriors fool you..) and very reasonable prices.
