I visited Dillain's this weekend while taking a break from a training course at the Handgun business next door. Â The instructor had raved about the fish tacos and being how I love fish tacos I had to try them. Â They did not disappoint! Â They were delicious! Â The server was attentive and friendly and helped out our group as much as possible.
I would love to go back again sometime soon to try some more of their items. Â Another woman with me had the French Dip and that looked fantastic as well!
Place is very relaxing. Great crowd of people, young and old alike. Lots of bikers rolling through. Although its a smoking bar, all smoking is outside on the back patio. The area is sealed off tightly, or at least I didn't smell anything funky. Furthermore, the sound system is fantastic! It's not too loud and the base has a great thump with no humming. Great place to chill and bust out a few tunes if you're a fan of karaoke. Furthermore, there is plenty of space if you're into dancing perhaps alone or with a complete stranger.
Side note: The bartenders are witty and humorous. I tried out a drink probably not on the menu, but they made it for me anyways. It was pretty good actually, and the mix wasn't over powering over the other flavors.
I have a house in Lincoln (although we moved to the Bay Area 2 years ago). Â I was back in my old stomping grounds fixing up our rental for new tenants... and I actually like this place BETTER than I used to. Â
I went in for lunch and ordered the street tacos. Â I was pretty impressed. Â I'd actually prefer to get the tacos here than the taqueria right down the street.
The buffalo chicken salad my sister in law got was not that awesome... but not bad.
The service is pretty good... and it's always a great time mid-day drinking with Lincoln Locals.
Chris and Carl, the main bartenders and bar manager are great. Â I always get great service and good drinks. Â The karoke is the best in the area and they have a really good sound system. Â It is a mixed age place, fairly casual attire, esp. on the week nights. Â The food is really very good, especially since you wouldn't really expect it. Â Great street tacos, but they have a full menu that many of my friends order off of and it all looks good. Â On busy nights, Thu - Sat they have a bouncer which makes it nice if you want to go out with just girls, I have never had a problem at this bar.
Review Source:Dillians is your typical hole in the wall dive bar. Â They make a great drink most of the bartenders are really good usually go in when either Carl or Chris are working they are great bartenders. Â The clientele ranges from older to younger depending on the day. Â If you are looking to just get out and have a good drink in a "bar" this is the place. Â They also have a huge area that you can drink and smoke in if you are a smoker.
Review Source:I like how this is place is low key. It's very casual. I would consider it an upscale dive. There is a place where smokers can puff on their cigarettes away from the main room. The drinks are good, but I haven't had an opportunity to eat the food. Next time I go back I will defiantly try.
Review Source:lincoln needs another bar for sure. this place is a s****hole. i try not to go there if i have to.the only reason it got 1 star is because of carl (one of the bartenders), there is another guy who bartends his name excapes me right now but he is cool and they make some decent food. the reasoning behind my dislike for this bar stems from me going there for sundays during football season they have this bartender not sure if he works there anymore but he was the worst bartender i have ever experienced. he used to argue with the customers and call them stupid (seen this first hand), would be on his phone while patrons were waiting for drinks, complain about having to be there as well. hopefully dillians fired that guy it would make the bar far better. it attracts some real douchbags as well. i have seen numerous fights breakout in front of the joint as well as other crazy crap car accidents and such. anyhow i ramble on. moral: if your looking for a watering hole trek a little further through the desert trust me.
Review Source:Meh is a good descriptor for this place.
Reasons to go there: Carl the bartender is awesome, to get a delicious meal (I heard the cook is a Master Chef), and for a decent drink. Also, it is the only bar in Lincoln besides the casino and sometimes you just need to go to a bar.
Reasons not to go there: the blond bartender guy is a TOTAL jerk and the other patrons kind of suck. Some are alright - I've had great conversations with some of the older people during day-ish hours, but the weekend night crowd is generally a collection of stupid redneck frat boys.
I can stand the place for a drink or few but most of the time I'd rather drink at home instead of going to this bar.
Lincoln really needs another bar. I know it may depend on the night you go and thank god I knew someone there who kept an eye on all of us (girls night out) but I swear there were homeless people hanging out in the back smoking section. I was offering one of them my leftovers from the restaurant and he took it. Enough said!!!!
Review Source:I have only been there three times and the bartender remembered me, super nice guy and never let us run out... the cocktail server was very sweet and made sure we where doing good all night and to top it of the door man is super hot. I wanted to put him in my pocket and bring him home with me to bad he's like 6 foot :-) laid back place no problems... will be back!!!
Review Source:I grew up in the area. Â Dillian's is the nicest bar, at least inside, from Lincoln to Yuba City. Â The bartenders are competent. Â The food is pretty good.
The kareoke is also pretty good. Â The Saturday night guy, Tim, is really good and always knows his regulars.
This is an awesome place to watch a game, grab a bite and a brew with some friends and it's a super awesome place to hold a live fantasy football draft!
As previously stated, the crowd can be a little, ummm, suspect, at certain times, and the place can get packed quick. Â Once it's packed, if you don't have a seat, you might as well just leave.......unless you like holding your drink up all night.
Enjoy Dillian's!!!!!!
So, I'm a booze hound, and I love going to neighbor hood bars. And this is the only real bar in Lincoln, I'm not trying to get shit faced in front of a bunch of screaming toddlers over at Red Robin. Anyways, I walk in and BOOM a blast from the past! Carl and I rode bikes up and down fifth avenue as kids, and let me tell you he grew up in quite the bartender. The drinks are reasonably prices, and strong as hell. Service in the back smoking area was pretty fast. It can get super packed, and the crowd is mixed of new people in town, and kids you grew up with. A bunch of TVs everywhere and a huge smoking area guarantees I'll be back.
Review Source:Dillians, Dillians, Dillians, where do I start with you??
Let's see, I grew up in this town and I love everything about it. Naturally, I would love the bar too. Hell, if you're reading this you probably know me.
If you like Lincoln, and you like talking about things you did in the past in Lincoln, and you like talking to old friends about those things, you'll love Dillians. If you don't, well, where are you from, some small town that's not Lincoln?
I only get back here a couple times a year at most, but I always see lots of familiar faces, faces for me to poop on.
This place is so fun you may lose an ear!
Dillian's is definitely a great place to grab a drink. I've been there on a few different occasions....
Two biggest reasons it didn't get 5 stars:
1. It's kind of small, and when it gets crowded, it's claustrophobic.
2. The crowd sometimes is a little sketchy - I'm not a big fan of the redneck college boy population.
But the bartender did make me one of my favorite drinks without having to ask how to make it - a strawberry kamikaze. AMAZING!
All in all, Dillian's is a place I'd keep going back to for some drinks and relaxation with friends.
