I think the previous review got this confused with the Chinese restaurant that got closed down. I've been going here since it opened and they've never had a panda express style way of serving. They cook the food in the kitchen after you place your order. I know that the old Chinese place was some rip off of panda express--not Wong's though.
Glad to get that cleared up. This is one of the three Wong's in the area! Sadly, the Mendota one I think just closed or is about to close? Must've been the bad location.
This Wong's is just like the Firebaugh one. The restaurant is a lot bigger though. Huge booths and another area for bigger parties.
I'm a big shrimp fan so this place is just great. I think it's just as good as their firebaugh location. Besides the bigger restaurant, I think it's just like their firebaugh location. Drinks with refills. Huge portions. Delicious food. Cheap prices.
The owners are really friendly and generous. They're always trying to make me comfortable when I'm there. Even when I get togo the owner will give me something to drink while I'm waiting.
The portions really are huge. I think one box of chow mein can feed two adults. You can feed an entire family for about twenty bucks. It's CHEAP for very fresh, high quality food. Yummy yummy yummy.
I recommend the sizziling shrimp, spicy shrimp, Mongolian beef and fried shrimp. Five stars for Wong's!
It's not Panda Express. And it's definetely not as good as most Chinese I've have, but it's what Dos Palos has. Â
As my boss used to say, "Dos Wongs don't make a right". Â He warned me that I'd spend the rest of the day in the bathroom if we had this for lunch. Â Personally, I've never experienced that.
I actually think their orange chicken is pretty good. Â Comes with plenty of veggies and chow mein for about $6. Â
Be sure to beat the high school rush. Â Students get a plate from the buffet for $3. It's a great deal, but can get pushy in the lobby when they get in line.
