This review waited until I got a few visits to The Dragon Room under my belt. It's just an overall great restaurant. Â It's the bar of The Pink Adobe. Â Much more informal and a great place to spot celebrities. Â
Any attire is welcomed - you'll find customers dressed to the nines sitting beside someone who just stopped by after a hard day painting artwork. Everyone is truly welcomed.
There are a few seating options. There's the main bar where all the action is, but if you prefer a more secluded, quiet, & private experience, there are rooms in the back of the restaurant. During spring and summer the outdoor patio opens up and it is just beautiful.
The food is excellent. Again, I ate here many times before writing this review, so I've sampled many items on the menu. They serve the same food as the Pink Adobe and therefore, have the same menu. The bonus is there's a happy hour with a special menu. Same good stuff as on the regular menu, but at a lower price. Something I don't think the Pink Adobe offers.
The grandson of the original owner has recently bought the place and taken it under his command. If ever you come across a review of Dragon Room/Pink Adobe that is not positive, it was probably written during the time of another owner. Joseph knows the restaurant business and knows what he's doing. The menu, the atmosphere, and the overall experience reflect this. It's back up to par and you won't be disappointed!
I feel compelled to write a review of this place, it had hands down the best Margaritas in town. I forgot our lovely waitresses name, but she was a marvelous server, the best we had in Santa Fe. I got this margarita with prickly pear puree I believe, which she had them add a little bit of fresh lime to make it slightly less sweet (I like my margaritas on the tart side).. It was the BEST. I'm only saddened that I don't have the recipe.
