came here on a weekend night. most peeps were seating out by the patio and we wanted to stay in to avoid cigarette smoke, so service took a little bit long but after we got the waitress attention it was all good. drinks are cheap (compared to miami beach standards) but the music was awful. death metal. i dont know if this was a jukebox or someones ipod but whoever decided to play those tracks must be related to mephistopheles.

This is a great pub in the Carrollwood area, Live music is great and prices are reasonable. After about six visits I've experienced reliable service and great food!

It was a great place to watch Gator football. Everyone must try the Irish nachos. They are more waffle fries with all the fixings of nachos. The portion was definitely enough for a table to share!

The hot wings are pretty good but definitely not super hot. The nachos are very unique instead of chips they are served with big waffle fries... very tasty! This is a great place to watch football... the outside patio has lights strung up everywhere and lots of TV's plus they always have pretty good specials on drinks :)

Decent place to hang with friends. If you've been to the S. Tampa Dub, don't compare, they're not the same kind of vibe. I went on a Friday after work and initially it was dead and I thought, "oh we made a mistake coming here!", but it picked up and there was live music, too. Now the drink specials; happy hour was half off until 7 on domestic and wells. I had two Miller Lites for $1.50/piece! From 8-10 they had $10 all you can drink wristbands. I didn't partake but some friends did and they were definitely having a good time. 3 stars because the place was cool, but didn't blow me away. I wouldn't drive out of my way to go, but if friends wanted to meet up again, I would go back.

The Dubliner North is the Carrollwood version of the famous SOHO Irish pub known as "The Dub". This location is on Henderson Road, just before the traffic light at Gunn Highway. It's tucked into a corner of the Super WalMart shopping center parking lot, and adjacent to the AMSCOT Financial store.

The Dub is one of the few places in town to find yourself a properly-poured pint of Guiness, Ireland's famous mild-roasted malt Adult beverage with just a hint of black coffee. Given that this location opened on St. Patty's Day in 2009, The Dub has had plenty of experience pouring a lot of proper pints.

The atmosphere is fun and playful, with live music, appropriate bar games and an outdoor patio for relaxing. They have a full bar with a number of different beers, ales, and stouts, both on tap and in bottles.

The menu is the same as the SOHO location, which means typical pub appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and wraps, along with traditional favorites such as Shepard's Pie, Corned Beef & Cabbage, and Fish & Chips.

Most everyone is there to drink, so taking your menu order and serving the food promptly seems to be second on their list of priorities. Expect a wait if you are there in the evenings.

May your heart be light and happy,
May your smile be big and wide,
And may your pockets always have
    a coin or two inside!

    Slainte!

I've always been a fan of the Dub in HP. It was pretty dead the most recent time I showed up on a Saturday night, so I'm going to assume I did it wrong. It's not you, it's me????

Not overly impressed.  Service was slow at the bar, the vibe was dull, but the prices were decent.  Not sure if I'll go back.  Too many fun bars to choose from.

Enjoy the south Tampa location more, but great addition to this part of town.  They had decent food and drink/food specials for each day of the week. Service was only fair, but food was good and Guinness was on special!

the bartender was the worst any of us have ever encountered--unfriendly and unattentive service from a wannabe tough guy. would not go back.

While awaiting my car to get fixed in a location a bit obscure to me, Carrollwood, which is considered north Tampa, my boyfriend and I decided to hit up The Dubliner North. We are familiar with the one in SOHO, so why not. Comparatively, the building was much bigger. The fault was that it was located in a shopping plaza, which is like most restaurants in town centers in suburban Tampa. The crowd was slightly older, considering it was a Tuesday. They had quiz night on that night. The theme was the 80's, how appropriate.
The wings at The Dubliner North were the same as the ones down south. I always recommend getting them hot, otherwise they toss it with bleu cheese which makes quite a weird consistency.  I like Bleu Cheese, it just doesn't work when it is tossed with Buffalo sauce. I am ashamed to say I didn't feel like a burger that night because the one in south Tampa has THE BEST burgers. The beer selection was about the same, although the bar tender didn't know what Jai Alai was and that she had it behind the bar, which is a little off since it is probably the most popular beer brewed out of Tampa (Yuengling doesn't count, it is from Pottsville, PA). Besides that the she was a sweetheart and chat with us for quite a while. If I ever find myself there, I don't see why I wouldn't go again.

Have been here the last two weeks. Friday nights are awesome. From 5-8 it is 10 all you can drink. This includes beer and liquor. I like that its not only well alcohol, but I usually drink sea dog. We ordered potato skins and they were good. Someone else in the party ordered pizza and she said it was good as well. There is a singer outside and hes pretty good. Sometimes seating is hard out there though, but you can usually squeeze in somewhere. In reference to what Donna B. said about DD- I think they changed the rule. The group in front of us had a DD and she didn't get charged for admission. Not sure though. I will definitely be going back and will post again once I try more food.

Stopped by here while out shopping after seeing the menu online and had a really good time.

Our server, Stephanie(?) was super nice and on top of things. She went away when we wanted to converse but was there for every need and never left our glasses empty.

Started with the Ploughmans board ($9.95) standard but without the pickled onions. It was ok, fresh soft crusty bread made it good.I had the atlantic cod sandwich ($8.95) which was very good with grilled fish, not fried, and a nice english cheddar. Hubby had the Dubliner Burger ($9.25) with sauteed mushrooms and onions, it made him very happy

.Decently poured black & tans and a nice clean atmosphere made us linger for a while and we had a really good time here!A definite go back.

The Dubliner North is a nice place with good prices.  Food is good pub type fair.  My only advice is don't go on a Friday night between 5pm and 8pm if you don't plan to drink.  I went last Friday with a large group of friends.  I was supposed to be the designated driver as I had a super early flight the next day.  The host at the Dubliner would not let me in unless I purchased the $10 all you can drink armband.  I explained to him that I was the DD and would not be drinking.  He said I can't come in if I don't pay for the band OR I can come back after 8pm.  So I had to pay $10 to drink water.  It was like I was being punished for being responsible!!

The real kicker to this entire situation:  not 15 minutes after I walked in the door another guy friend joining us walked in the door.  He told the host the same thing (he was not drinking so didn't want to buy the band) and the host let him in the door without having to pay $10 and told him to just keep quiet about it!!  What the hell is up with that??

In the end, I would love to go back to the Dubliner North (although it is almost 45 minutes from where I live) because it was a fun time with friends.  I really hope that they will change their policy on non-drinkers though and commend us for being designated drivers rather than punish us.  Or perhaps HCSO should just set DUI checkpoints close to the pub.

Fridays 5-8pm $10 All You Can Drink includes premium brands.  Ordered Chips and Salsa, got french fries with salsa. The corned beef sandwich tasted like Ireland fresh.  They have a live band after 8pm. I would recommend and return to this happening joint.

So after hearing nothing but goods things from a good friend of mine I ventured to The Dubliner when I got to Tampa.

The beer selection is amazing! I tried a few different kinds but settled with a Black & Blue.

I would highly recommend The Dubliner If your in the area.

Continuing with my recent trend, I decided to visit The Dubliner in Tampa.  It's the "north" dubliner, and from what I gathered it's the newer dubliner...  either way it was cool with me.

Solid menu with all the expected meal options.  I was treated to lunch, so I went with a "beef and brie".  Not the best I've had, but it was good.  I enjoyed a couple of black and tans and watched college football for a bit on the TVs.

I doubt I'll be in Tampa again for a while, but if I ever do make it back this is a place that I will not forget about for a good beer and what appear to be good times.

Great to see the Dub moving up to north Tampa!  Excellent Irish food and a collection of tasty beers to boot.  Totally decked out this joint in traditional Irish flare.  The only other Irish pub that compares would be the Dubliner in South Tampa!  Hope they bring liter night to the north end!
