Worst service ever. Two of our three orders came out wrong and then the waitress proceeded to argue with us about what we had ordered. She took the orders that were wrong in the back and scraped the wrong ingredients off and brought back the food that had already had bites taken off of it. The food she brought back was still wrong. When we pointed out that it was still wrong she stated she had scraped off the ingredients herself. I pointed out to her where she had not removed them. I asked her to remove the item from our bill because I am allergic and couldn't eat my meal. She rolled her eyes and went back inside where she sat pouring drinks and flirting with a man at the bar. She continued to glare at us through the window until she finally brought our corrected check back to us 15 minutes later. The waitress looked like she was on meth.
Review Source:This place makes a fantastic bloody mary, but the prices will probably keep me from coming back for food again. I ordered the halibut fish and chips. For $14.99 I got two very itsy-bitsy pieces of fish which were really mostly batter. They were also very soggy. The fries were really good and I loved the tarter sauce.
Review Source:I mean, what more could you ask for? 8 of us went to Seaside for the night and we wanted some beer and food to start it off. We walked to Dundee's and received excellent service, big (or at least normal sized) pitchers, and some good food. Fun, lively, loud place with plenty of seating. If you're trying to go out, start here.
Review Source:Many good times and good memories have been had at this place. This is a great joint to hang out with friends as well as grab a bite and a pint. The bestie always gets the chicken fingers which, although it's not something I would ever order, I have to admit they are some of the best I've had. I love the thai mussels and the menfolk love the burgers. They have a cute lil' donut shop next store which is the perfect place to grab a sweet and a coffee or tea before heading out to the be one with the sea. It's loud...no doubt about it...but it's lively and fun. Defintely a place you come prepared to leave in a good mood.
Review Source:I've been to Seaside a few times and have eaten at Dundee's Bar & Grill every time I've stayed there, and once when I was just passing through town. The thing that keeps me coming back is their taco pizza; who doesn't love tacos and pizza...together, it's sheer brilliance! I was skeptical the first time I went there but it sounded interesting so I had to try it. It's messy but very tasty. The other item on the menu that I love is their Texas egg rolls...I think that's what it's called but they are like jalapeño poppers but better because they're easier to eat. It's bits of jalapeños that are chopped up and mixed with cream cheese and wrapped in a tortilla and fried then served with a sweet chili sauce, my mouth waters thinking about it!
Review Source:Really liked their breakfast pizza. Like how they open early in the morning. Nice to have another option other than Pig n Pancake. Most of their food is average, not great but will fill the emptiness in your stomach. The chowder however was not good. Had better in a can. All in all...average.
Review Source:My husband and I stopped in for lunch while visiting Seaside and we sat at the bar. We were served our beers promptly and we checked out the menu. Deciding on a bucket of steamer clams (A POUND and a HALF!) and two bowls of clam chowder. Our food came and I took one look at the chowder and thought they accidentally brought me a bowl of country gravy. Then I tasted it, yep, tastes like pasty country gravy. I told the bartender that I couldn't eat that. He offered me another soup (asparagus salmon chowder) I said I'd try it. He brought me a sample to try. It was flavorless but edible so I accepted a bowl of it. The steamer clams were the best EVER though. Not a single dud in the batch, great onion and garlic chunks in the broth searved with yummy garlic butter for dipping. Service is satisfactory, they check on you every now and then. Good spot to stop for a bite and a drink while walking Broadway.
Review Source:GREAT food...enough to take some home! Â Burgers are big and well priced, good quality. Â Service is excellent (we had Kenna....amazing attitude with all of our changes and requests..plus we moved to different tables and she just smiled!...). Â We love the bakery, too. Â All the servers we have had have been top rate...they hire right there, and train well! Â We go back often and it's always top notch!
Review Source:All they have is greasy food HAHA sorta not really.. It was okay though oyster shooters were okay nothing special. I would come back for some snacks. Its a nice place very loud though. I wouldn't get their friend oyster again or fish and chips maybe the salmon again but rather than that nothing else.
Review Source:Im pretty sure this is the only place where you can watch sports in this town. Â The place is centrally located on broadway, Has a decent menu and a good variety of sports on t.v. There is one other place called the "relief pitcher" which has amazing burgers but this place is in a better loaction. Â (if you dont mind crowds and parking hassles)
Review Source:Decided to stop here after walking the town and wanted a reasonable prices bite of food. Should have looked at its reviews before I ate here because it was poor quality. As the local watering hole and just grabbing a beer it fine but as far as service and food go find another spot. The service was bad and the food I could have gone to taco bell and had it taste better. The salad bar was well sparse to say the least. Our waitress came by and took our drink order after we say there for about 10 min and when she took our food order the person I was with ordered a salad and soup and I ordered the clam chowder and a tostada sub so I could have some later at the hotel. My "from scratch" chowder came out first delivered by another waiter and tasted like it was from a progresso can. Then our meals came out about 10 min later and my drink had been empty the entire time. As a bartender an server I under stands if your slammed or overwhelmed and can't get to it but when you are busy talking with a friend and have people running your food come on. So as I was saying our meals came out and one of the orders were right but I was given a tostada salad... Not a sub. After the food runner dropped it off our waitress came by an asked if everything was ok, I was hungry and didn't feel like waiting for them to remake it so I said yes and she started to walk off so I asked for another drink seeing how didn't bother to check on it. After our meal which again poor quality she came by and dropped of our check and grab the plates i had staked for her. She came by again 8-10 min later to pick it  up and swipe the card. My advice if ya want a beer it's a decent place to go, if ya want food with your drink go elsewhere!
Review Source:Arriving late on the first day of our vacation we walked up Broadway looking for a decent place for dinner. Â Dundee's seemed to one of the better spots so we sat down. Â Service was very slow (an hour from sitting to eating) and the food was pretty awful. Processed chicken in the chicken taco salad tasted like little chuncks of rubber. Â Fruit smoothie for the kids was 1/4 glass of syrup and 3/4 glass of whipped cream (nasty). If you are keen on bad food and want to get diabetes, then this is a great sport. Â If not, go somewhere else. Â Actually, stay away from Broadway altogether.
Review Source:What we liked:
It was a really comfortable place
Well rum & coke $3.75
Long island $7.50
drifter $4
There was a variety of food, but we just stopped in for drinks
We like that they had games and TV's
The chairs are old school and comfy
What we didn't like:
Service took a little while
Other then that, we like that even though was on the touristy strip it wasn't slammed or too pricey like everything else on that strip.
Our server was the high point of our visit. The Taco Pizza was recommended so we went for it as we LOVE a good Taco Pizza...unfortunately this was not one of them. I can't say that I have ever had pizza sauce as the base for a Taco Pizza. Maybe the cook messed up, maybe they all come that way. Whatever the reason, it was not a good combo. The taco meat tasted more like chili. Dundee's will most likely not be on out to-do list next time we are in Seaside.
Review Source:This place maybe a better watering hole than an eatery. I stopped in here for lunch thinking I could get something decent to eat and nothing but the homemade chips were any good. I ordered the Philly Steak Sandwich and got some tasteless meat, onions, pepper, and cheese on a hoagie type roll that had a horrible after taste. I ended up eating just the meat. I even had a friend try a piece of the roll and  they also said it had a horrible after taste. I mentioned it to the waiter, but I guess there is nothing he can do. I also tried a piece of teryaki burger and it tasted like I was eating  out of a bowl of sugar. Couldn't even taste the burger. THe only thing going for them is the homemade chips. I have to say they were really really good! If I ever eat here again, I will order a plate of chips and call it good.
Review Source:When I'm in seaside I don't expect much as far as restaurants go, after all it is not a foodie destination. While many places wouldn't cut it in portland, many eateries in a tourist town owe their existence to hungry tourists willing to settle on something.....anything.
This place manages to be family-friendly, but also a local watering hole. There was only one waitress, but she was doing the best she could, she acknowledged us twice before she took our order. The food came in a timely manner, and it was okay, but nothing special. I could have gotten the same burger at Dairy Queen. And the same nachos at Taco bell. But then they don't serve beer.
This used to be my family's go to spot for fish and chips at the coast. Its been about a year since we have gone. Went last week. They have increased their menu prices by over 60% and reduced the quantity of the food by at least 20%. I paid $14.00 for 7 scallops and a little pathetic pile of fries. This is a bar, not fine dining. So why am I paying fine dining prices at a bar? The only reason we didnt walk out was because I didnt I felt embarassed to do so. Service is par, atmosphere is LOUD.
Review Source:It was hot, the sun was out (I know, a rarity in Seaside) and my partner was complaining about getting something to eat. Â I on the other hand had snagged a Pronto Pup as soon as we got Broadway Street!
We ducked in here on one of the busiest Saturdays in the season, the Saturday of Independence Day. Â While the celebration was still two days away, the city was also hosting the Teen Miss Oregon Pageant this day.
The place was moderately busy, but we grabbed a table and ordered a pitcher of a local beer. Â It was brought out immediately and we ordered a pizza to share.
The pizza was mediocre. It was a Big Kahuna style (Hawaiian), but they overdid it with the pineapple. Â The pineapple was literally covering the entire pizza, so much so that we scraped most of it off and left a significant pile on the pizza pan when we were finished. Â The taste and crunch of the pizza was good once we removed 5/6's of the pineapple.
The only issue we had was that our server never came back with our bill. Â We had to go up to the counter and tell them that we wanted to leave. Â But overall, it is a decent bar with a decent food selection.
Went in here for a couple of drinks and wanted to order some food to go. Â Prices were a little on the high side but once we got back to our condo and ate the Texas egg rolls which were basically jalapeno poppers in egg roll form, and a chicken quesadilla we were satisfied and happy with our experience. Â We ate at about 4 other restaurants during our stay and this was one of the best.
Review Source:Typical bar food, but they do offer some pretty great pizza's I hear. The drinks were pretty good. The atmosphere was pretty bogus for a Saturday night after a sunny day. They have shuffle-board, pool, a digital jukebox, and Buck Hunter, which were all great. The service was friendly and fast, but it was pretty empty in there for a party night!
Review Source:Wow. Worst ever. We'd gone here 2 years ago.. and I'd gone in with friends on trips down to Seaside in the past- it was always just an easy place to grab some cheapish booze and bar food, but not what it's apparently turned into.
It was packed and we pretty much got ignored that we wanted FULL meals and drinks- basically to run up a big 'ol tab that could turn into a big 'ol tip.
I'd read on yelp reviews to try the pizza: ew. No. Don't do it - I'd choose Fultano's first if you wanted pizza on the strip. It might as well have been a freezer section pizza. And for $15 bucks?! Oh, and how about the martini I ordered... WELL VODKA FOR $10.25?!!! Thank god I'm the only one who wanted a drink.. $25.25 for gross pizza and a well drink- we WONT be back.
The staff was rude, the food sucked- it's a shame, I'd had good memories in the past there!
This is just my review on their take out service. If you were making a night of it and consuming lots of drinks, this bar would be sufficient for a night of gawking at Coastal people.
We went in just to order some lunch to take down to the beach. 4:30 in the afternoon on a thursday the whole street of Broadway is dead. We knew we were in for typical greasy bar food, but we were starving. Â The waitress/bar wench greeted us half assly and handed us a menu. After ordering our grub we went to sit at the bar, where we were immediately told that we would have to wait outside since we had "outside" drinks with us. Seriously?!?! Â Â
I'm buying your grubby, greasy, over priced bar food, to go, and you won't let us chill inside your establishment for the five minutes it's going to take to fry it up because I have a latte with me?! Â We should have just left right then and there. Â This chick obviously felt way too big a sense of power being in charge of the place. So congrats to her! You totally win at life!
Anyway... as far as the food, my philly sand. was good for the first few bites. After that I began to notice just how dry and bland the sliced steak was. Â Plus my tots were soooooo over done and no seasoning whatsoever. Â Honestly, it's not even about the food. We've all had bar food before. Â meh.
Needing a place to run to on a family vacation, we found Dundee's. Not a dive by any means, but compared to the main street on seaside it's my kind of place. Waitress was very nice, drinks were strong, really good onion rings. If you're not bothered by shots of patron ordered at 3pm this is your place.
Review Source:One of my favorite places, and an absolute MUST stop for me in Seaside. Good drinks, fun atmosphere, great service! The reason it's a must-stop is for their pizza. It's thin crust, the kind that's crispy with cornmeal on the bottom, you know? I think the pizza I get is the Riccardo, but I make a few substitutions. Pepperoni, sausage, goat cheese, and extra garlic. Ah. Maze. Ing. The slightly spicy meats and marinara play so nicely with the smooth, rich, and creamy goat cheese, and the crunch of the crust is the topper. I quite honestly often consider driving from Beaverton for that pizza and a walk on the beach.
Always an easy-going crowd, good jukebox, and I think there's a pool table in the back. LOVE Dundee's!
Thank God this place is in Seaside. or I'd eat there every day and blow up like a float and have to buy my clothes at Torrid. They have ruined me on chicken strips, now I expect them to taste like theirs and the Sysco crap they serve out here just doesn't cut it. The salmon fish-n-chips are another fave. I dig how  the booths have their own individual TV's to cut down on the "Put on MY game!" drama. And they have all the bar games so the people who don't care about sports (like me) have something to do while their boyfriends are transfixed.
Review Source:Did someone tape a sign on my back that said, "It's my birthday, load me up with really cheap booze?" Â Because that's pretty much what happened. Â We ended up at this local-yokel sports bar with one thing in mind: snacks + drinks = happy tourists. Â We were prepared to put in some time at this place, make an indent in the barstools, if you will, and that we did. Â
Food: Â a bit more than regular bar fare, Dundee's has burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and breakfast. Â Vegetarian options include some salads, veggie burgers, and some of the pizzas. Â Vegans- you're outta luck save for the salad bar sans dressing. Â They had some top-notch junk food on the menu, too, like chili cheese fries, Texas spring rolls, onion rings, jalapeno poppers, etc. Â Remember, people: Â there are no calories on vacation. Â
Pool tables, some video games, and a digital jukebox round out the gadgets surrounding the central bar. Â I loaded up about ten bucks into the digital juke, and lemme tell ya, those hits were HITS. Â CAPS HITS. Â TLC, D'Angelo, Pink, Hall and Oates, REO Speedwagon, Destiny's Child, Janis Joplin... I was all over the place! Â And everyone seemed agreeable to every track. Â
My veggie burger wasn't so great. Â But everyone, in general, enjoyed their snacks, and let's be honest here: you take a risk getting a veggie burger from a sports bar. Â I was determined to eat a salad bar at some point during our coast tour, and that I did... pineapple on spinach doused in Ranch? Â Don't mind if I do! Â Gross. Â And awesome. Â
When it came time to pay up, we were all in shock. Â It was far less than we anticipated. Â I think our fabulous server hooked us up for being less obnoxious that what surely is her usual puka-shelled tourist crowd. Â We thanked her for that with ridiculous tips. Â Should I find myself on the Seaside strip again, you betcha I'll stop into Dundee's. Â Good prices, good service, what more do ya need?
There's tourist Seaside and there's residential Seaside. I imagine this bar is seen by the locals as a spot to stay away from. Tourists and all. Not a locals bar by any means -- Unless maybe you're in the younger crowd.
Regardless, this is going to be your best bet if you find yourself walking down the main strip of downtown Seaside in the pouring rain or with light cloud cover as has been the case with my last two visits.
It's a spacious bar/grill with a pool table, big buck hunter safari and some other assorted arcade games. There's a large bar in the middle of the room, tables and chairs and booths on the outskirts. Staff is young and all wear "What happens at Dundee's stays at Dundee's" t-shirts which are a bit self-flattering for a pretty run of the mill bar in a coast town. I guess the concept is cute, though.
The food will surprise you. I've had a pizza and a sandwich in my visits and both, while pub fare for the most part, was on the higher side of pub fare. Drinks here are nice and cheap; $3.75 I think. I'm not sure what the shots cost because we were taken care of nicely and there's no way they were the price we got them for.
Anyway, it's a great place to watch a game as there are TV's scattered throughout and a couple of big screens above the bar. There's a juke that won't quit and plenty of middle aged ladies walking around in sequins and form fitting leopard print dresses. Grrrrrrowllll, ladies. Growl.
Personal favorite? The door guy who is huge. Really, really tall. And on request of his height, he pulls his bottom lip down to show you the 6' 9" he's got tattooed on it.
"It's tattooed pretty deep," he says, "but it didn't hurt at all."
A sports bar is a sports bar is a sports bar.
But this one happens to serve some very, very stiff drinks and couples it with some cool servers.
Our group descended upon this obviously locals-meets-tourist spot. The Blazers game was in full effect, and the place was pretty packed. We were carded on the door by one giant of a man, who apparently keeps his height tattooed on the inside of his lip. Classy, right?
We armed ourselves with some stiff well drinks ($3.75!) and headed for an empty table on the dining side of things. The menu is full of typical bar food but branches out to include pizza and a salad bar. Some of the pizza sounded good, but I couldn't justify $15 for a small. I wasn't -that- hungry. I just needed something as a buffer for all the drinks I was about to consume. Chili cheese fries? Done.
Our server had no problem keeping our tabs separate, keeping up with our jokes, and making sure an empty glass didn't sit on the table too long. We kept the juke box poppin' with some great hits that I'm sure we were singing way too loud to by the end of the night. The place cleared out a lot once the game was over, so for a Saturday night we practically had the place to ourselves.
We closed the bar down at...midnight because that's apparently what bars do in Seaside. It was kind of a bummer considering we were ready to go until 2:30.
When we were squaring away our tabs, it came to our attention we likely got some special treatment. Orders from the house. It was unnecessary, but definitely appreciated. Maybe they know that we're generous with the tip when we're treated like rock stars. Regardless, had we been charged the full amount, I'd still have been pleased with what went on.
This is a must for anyone who wants to get their sports game or drink on. Besides, it's not like there is much else in the area anyway.
This is a bar duh. Why would you expect the food to be super fabo? duh.
I ordered a bucket of clams, and that was REALLY good. So I dont know why people are compaining. I mean, if you are seeking a gourmet meal with pretty garnishes, A BAR is not the place.
But over all this place is good. Great drinks. Great BAR food. Loved it. Bartender was VERY nice, I think we might have driven her crazy by being undecided about everything and taking long to order... but she didnt even show it. she just said "take as long as you want!"
We went to Dundee's for dinner one evening while visiting Seaside. While my wife really liked what she got, my meal was not quite as impressive. Â
She ordered a small pepperoni pizza, which she said was quite good... I did not try it. I ordered the teriyaki chicken burger. I ordered it specifically because I did not want any mayo, and all of the other burgers listed mayo on the menu but this one didn't. Â When the food arrived, my chicken was slathered with some sort of thick mayo, almost like a cream cheese which I did not care for. The bun was soggy... and the chicken itself was sort of... processed. I just was not overly excited about my meal. Â The tater-tots were good, but seriously.... who messes up tater-tots.
So... If I was going back I might stick to a liquid diet. It looks like this place might be fun at night drinking... that, or stick to pizza.
