  Most gorgeous view in Hamptons.
  Really mediocre food in restaurant .
  We really want to like it since it is nearby.
  And because of the view.
  Dinner last night was a disaster.
  Waited one hour for our food.
  And then as usual mediocre.

  I have lived in East Hampton for many years.
  It was always a pleasure to eat at East Hampton Point. Be it lunch, brunch or dinner I could always count on having a tasty meal there.
  
  Not any more!  I had lunch there last week and although the view was the same, the food was awful. It was so bad we complained, but all we got was a tepid apology.
  
  Many of my friends have had the same experience. Hopefully EHP will get it's act together... Or I doubt it will last another season.

  Time to escape the city life and head out to the Hamptons. A little mingling with the hot shots in the fresh ocean air does a body good. Make it a one stop shop at East Hampton Point. Overlooking three mile harbor you can watch the sun set over a glass of wine and perfectly prepared fresh lobster. Cuddle down in one of the cottages speckled throughout the property. This resort is a gentle reminder of how easy life can be and how simple it is to check out of the daily craziness in town. Consider me in!

  We stayed in Cottage 14 this week and while it is a wonderful room, the hotel is very expensive and the included continental breakfast we found to be disgusting - admitting we have high standards.
  The room was spacious, clean, new or newly remodeled and everything was in perfect working order.
  The workout room is okay but not great but it could be...It's in a cool, clearly historical building on-site but the equipment and amenities are a bit lacking for a place with price tags this high - no towels, bottled water and one 19" tube TV hanging from the wall with the volume basting Wolf Blitzer!
  Another odd issue at the hotel is that the front desk is manned only 9am to 5pm. I'm not sure what to do if you have an issue during the evening / night /early morning and if you will be arriving after 5pm, they say they will leave instructions for how you can pickup your key (certainly there won't be any help with your luggage - not that they helped us at 4pm).
  I feel very mixed about East Hampton Point as a hotel...the room was great but very expensive (2x the price of a nice room at most Four Seasons we've stayed at) - the breakfast was awful but the restaurant for dinner was great.
  Given the dearth of great hotel options in the area, we might stay there again but we certainly wouldn't eat the breakfast.
