The Elbow Room

A couple of days before my friend got married we hit the town in Hyannis. His parents picked up dinner at the British Beer Company then took off leaving my friend, my then girlfriend (now wife), and me to go bar-hopping. For some reason we were on a quest to get Campari, which my wife and I had recently tried and been horrified by, and which my friend was curious to try because, I guess, he was wondering how any booze could be that gross.

At some point we ended up at the Elbow Room. They didn't have Campari, so we got shots of SoCo instead. It was a bad choice. The bartender was really generous with the pour, and it had been just long enough since I'd had it that I'd forgotten just how disgusting it is. The shot basically got stuck half-way down, and it almost turned really ugly.

We were using by brother-in-law's car that night (he was stationed in Korea at the time), and the key had a button that you could hit to remotely open the trunk. I never got tired of how cool that was, and I hit it when we got to the parking lot. My friend bested my move by diving in and riding back there on the way back to his folks' house. He even popped open a beer back there! Wait, shit, do cops read Yelp reviews??
