Crème Brule was giant and way too much sugar on top -  it was like trying to cut through glass with a spoon! - but otherwise everything was groovy. Our waiter was nice, our drinks were strong, and for a chain restaurant the food was highly decent. A nice distraction for a date night with a short time span.

One of the most revolting restaurants I've ever had the misfortune to enter.

Hubby and I were on our way back from the outlets when we decided to stop for a bite.  We drove by Chipotle, BJS, In N Out and several other chainy fast-foody, artery cloggy options before deciding to patron this joint. Oh how I wish we would have stopped at ANY of those before walking into this place.

The artichoke dip tasted like soured milk.  The green beans were deep fried and gross.  I couldn't even finish my "lighter option" arugula salad. The mac and cheese side was vile and flavorless.

This establishment should be ashamed to serve human beings such slop.

One thing I will say- our server was on top it and did her job well. It wasn't her fault the food was garbage. Maybe she felt bad for us.

I went to bed and woke up sick to my stomach and I am trying to drink a ton of water to detoxify my body from this experience.

Go here at your own risk.

This is not somewhere I would ever eat again, the food was horrible... but the wait staff was worse. It looks really nice but it smells like dirty laundry inside and you can taste it. Whatever you do don't go there you will regret it.

Eating at this Elephant Bar was a bit strange. The waitress had such a bad attitude and was so pushy with the up-sell! She thought that a black and tan (a mixed drink made with 2 types of beers) was a beer that could be ordered on draft. The mixed drinks that we did order tasted as if there was zero alcohol in them whatsoever. The food was mediocre at best, especially for the inflated prices.

Honestly, we went to this restaurant after a long day of hiking and our standards were low to begin with. The fact that this place fell below the standards of tired hikers should tell you all you need to know about its quality.

I have met friends at the Elephant Bar a few times now and feel confident that the food and service were consistent enough to write a review. It's an impersonal overpriced corporate restaurant.

You won't have a bad time. You wont have a good time. And you wont remember  on what or why you spent fifty dollars the next day.

I wish I could give this place a half star!!! My wife and I have been to this Elephant Bar three times in the past and had very good experiences. But we went there on 5/22/13 and boy has this place gone downhill. The food is absolutely disgusting now!  We basically paid 45 dollars for two Lean Cuisine meals it was that bad!!!  Avoid this place at all cost unless you want disgusting overpriced food!

There is nothing worse than a set of rules at happy hour that takes the server a few minutes to explain.  Limited beer and wine selections including no IPA's.  Are you kidding me?  The food was mediocre at best and the server always seemed preoccupied and you wondered if he would get the order right which he did most of the time.  Because the food is served by a different person, it ended up on the table next to us unbeknownst to us-makes you wonder about the people who were eating something they hadn't ordered,  Given the other choices in the area, the Elephant Bar needs to get its act together.

This place is fun and fanciful. The have affordable appies and good prices at Happy Hour. Highly recommended! Took off one star for the entrees being a little on the spendy side.

If you want bad service, empty beverages, wrong order delivered at first, sashimi as tough as leather then this is the place for you. My wife and I will never go to this location again. Maybe they should change their name to elephant dung might have written a better review...

I can't say enough great things about this place.  The food is excellent and so is the service.  The whole staff strives hard to make the customers happy.  Best Mongolian Beef in town. We love Elephant Bar!!!

This place is amazing. First time going today. Service is great, food is great, what more can you ask for? I recommend trying the Wood-Fired Ribeye & Jumbo Prawns. Delicious. Thumbs up to our waitress Laura :)

It's okay.  The place is in desperate need of a remodel. It has that sticky nightclub feel.  It's tired.
I've been going there off and on for 15 years. Food is okay. Service is decent.
It's a older senior crowd joint.

Can't say that the food is anything spectacular. Atmosphere is so-so. I've had worse, but I've also had better.

No matter how many chances we give them, they always give us the most terrible service. The hosts don't think about spreading out the seating thru the sections evenly so when they seat you, your server is almost always busy with another party or is getting slammed all at once. It's always a good 15 minutes before you get greeted and it takes way too long to get your drinks. The food is less than impressive and it's always so loud and crowded there. I don't recommended this restaurant unless you're willing to wait a lot for your food that doesn't meant standards.

I took my wife to The Elephant Bar for our anniversary 12 years ago.  We have been going there since.  We have seen it change over the years and all to make them better. 2 years ago i learned about their Happy Hour.  We would drive from North Palm Springs to Palm Desert just to make the happy Hour, by the way  is a strong 8.  Always happy to go there being in the area at the right time. I am for saving money.  Their HH is good on savings. $$$

I sat at the bar one night, i had an hour to kill so I thought I would eat and watch a little football. There was golf on the TV so I asked if they could turn the football game on, the bartender said no some people were watching golf, really? It wasn't even live, it was a program on the golf channel. So I moved to the other side of the bar right next to the bartender well, 2 bartenders right in front of me. I had the worst service possible, I finally asked one of the bartenders if they had a 1 beer limit? She didn't quite get the fact I was implying I would care for another, my beer had been empty for at least 20 minutes. This place sucks!

I have eaten at Elephants in Palm Desert now twice and the service has been good as has the food. The Cobb salad is the best. The place was filled with Ladies Who Lunch during the day and it appeared that most of them were ordering salads. This is an easy access go to spot for a convenient and consistent lunch.

I had a gift card so I figured scoring some points with my wife for dinner would be cool. We decided on ordering take out since our youngins could be a hit and miss proposition at times.

We organized our order and the call was made. I emphasized BLACKENED for our Salmon & Mahi-Mahi dishes and added Mac & Chicken Tenders along with the Spring Rolls for an appetizer. They told me 10-15 minutes so I left my home immediately so the food would not be sitting there.

The front reception area is a CLUSTER-_ _ _ _ with young female talent you may find at a Justin Bieber concert. I do not believe the hiring process involves any IQ assessments. I know, a bit harsh but warranted.

When I arrive I am told the food will be a minute and I am asked for payment. I put down the gift card and I ready to roll home as my bottle of red is waiting. One of the five hostesses approaches and asks how I want the fish prepared. I reiterate that I had already reiterated BLACKENED and a manager named Tiffany gets involved. " I will take care of it sir."

When the bags come back a quick check of the articles inside will save me BIG PAIN later especially if the kids meal is M.I.A. Everything is there except the Spring Rolls. I mention this to Tiffany and she leaves and materializes with the rolls and more apologies. She was very nice.

I stated that I know takeout can be a pain in the ass. But it would be wise to emphasize the importance of knowing the menu to those that are jotting down the orders. That way the crucial information is not missed and everyone is happy. I with the assumption that ten percent is left on the gift card for a tip and I leave.

When I am home Tiffany calls to announce apologetically that my card was not returned. She decided to remove one of the fish plates and the rolls from our bill to make up for the little fiasco I had endured. I mentioned that it was unnecessary but that it was definitely appreciated. She told me to drop by and pick up the gift card with the remaining balance of $17 more than I expected. Oh, and she had given me a business card (so I thought) that was actually a card for a free dessert.

This visit would have earned this establishment a ONE but Tiffany's responses raised the rating and earned another chance on the next go round. The main dishes were good and spiced right which includes the veggies. I was disappointed with the rolls but that's on me because I had tasted them before. I will not step in that hole a third time.

I applaud how Tiffany reacted and I will return because of it.

This is my usual stop every time I come to Palm Springs, and it has been pretty consistent.  Last time I was here, the food was great!  I think we all had special orders of some kind, and there were no mistakes at all.  Food quality was decent... I got a burger and it was pretty good for the price.  My only complaint is inconsistent service.  I have never seen the place really busy, but the food is generally slow to come out, and for whatever reason, trying to get a refill is very difficult.  Otherwise, it's decent and I'll probably come back next time I'm in the area.

Well, you know, I was going to let this pass and not say anything.  Some people think I say too much, I can't imagine, but three of us went late Sunday afternoon.  The third of our threesome likes the E.B. and was all enthused about the Adventure Platter or some such imaginative name.  It's the one with ribs, chicken, corn and what all.  The E.B. Is not exactly high on my list of favorites although I manage to go without visibly cringing.

Here is the reason for my update.  It isn't the food.  That was O.K.  The Platter was a load of variety, which both the visiting V.I.P. and I each ordered.  I can't even remember what my husband ate, but there was no complaint about it at all.

Here's the rub.  We all ordered Margaritas and what we received was a glass of citrus juice and ice.  We have Margaritas in restaurants all the time and don't ever have a problem, but this was such a bad drink that all of us agreed we should not have to accept a beverage that is so unenjoyable..

The waitress suggested consulting the bartender and returned saying there is an ounce and a half of Tequila in all the Margaritas.  We requested they be removed and replaced with Cokes.  Paying $7.25 for a glass of watery lime juice just didn't seem rational.  Far be it from me to accuse, but I do wonder what the bartender is doing with all that Tequila he may or may not be saving.

So the three stars is for the food and the decor and a big Goose Egg goes to the bartender.  If I'm pressured into going to the E.B. again, I will definitely be an on the wagon teetotaler and will be singing,  "Set up the Coke, I got a little story that isn't a joke."

I have to say, I had reservations about coming back here.  I'm usually pretty stubborn when it comes to my opinion, but the manager was kind enough to talk to me about my concerns and invited me back to help change my opinion.  I didn't announce I was going to be stopping by, because I wanted to see if they really did have great service as opposed to it being 'forced great service'.  Know what I mean?

Well, I'm happy to say that it was a completely different experience this time.  The hostess was SO nice and not only smiled as she sat us, but asked us how we were and offered her own opinions of the menu.  Our server, Jessica, was a sweetheart.  She was courteous and completely different from the waitress we had the first time.  Again, I wish I had gotten our first waitresses name, because I'd be suggesting that the hostess and Jessica train her on attitude and service.

As far as the food and drink, I got the Red Appletini which was SO yummy!  I'm probably going to go back just for this drink alone.  It had a fall feeling without being dark.  I loved it!  For dinner I had one of their new menu items, their Pacific shrimp platter (I'm pretty sure it has a different name, but it's on the new Chef menu).  The sauces were delish and the shrimp was hot and well cooked.

The only reason I'm not giving a 5 was because there was a bit of an issue with finalizing the bill.  It took a couple of times to get the total correct, but if that's the biggest problem I had compared to last time, I'll take it.

I definitely have to thank the manager for caring enough to not only address my concerns, but invite me back.  Now I know why people talk about the Elephant Bar. =)

We have always enjoyed E Bar over the years.  A large menu with many food options.  However, if this was our first visit here this past Saturday, it would also be our last.  The whole experience was deeply different than previous visits, and not in a good way.

Our server took our order then came back to the table 10 minutes later asking us what we ordered because there was confusion in the kitchen over table numbers.  The server was very busy and there seemed to be only a couple servers working.  The busgirl brought us our food, which was plated in a very different style than many times before.  Two orders of sweet and sour stir-fry chicken with rice arrived with no sweet and sour flavor and the rice served on the side.  Shouldn't it have had the rice on the plate with the stir-fry on top?  Well, that's how it has always been, just not this time.  The kitchen really screwed up.

We ordered a side of bread which never arrived with the food and had to be reordered.  Ice tea glasses went empty for almost the entire meal.  Our server came by to check on the table only once and when we mentioned the lack of sweet and sour, said, "Well, I see some type of sauce on there, and we changed our menu so that's the new way they make it."  She made no offer to correct the order because she was too busy moving from table to table.

The table next to ours sent their food back because it wasn't cooked properly.

What really added to making this a disappointing visit were the managers standing around at the bar not helping the servers who clearly were overworked.  The servers can't be at fault for passive managers that can't sense a problem and step-in to help.  When the bus staff have to deliver food, shouldn't a manager jump in and help out?  To end the meal, once the check arrived we had to wait for the server to collect it even though two managers walked by and never even stopped to ask how out meal was or if they could run the credit card.

I hate to say it about a favorite spot, but it will be a while until we go back.

After receiving a note from the Marketing Coordinator that someone would contact me, they never did.

I haven't been here in several years, but a coupon I got in the mail made me want to try it again. I took my sister out for her birthday, bringing my husband and my mom. We made it an early dinner on a Saturday and had no trouble getting a nice booth before the crowd set in.

I was very nicely surprised by the extensive menu selections, reasonable prices and pleasant service. I had the macadamia-nut encrusted chicken with chopped vegies and liked it so much that I took home the rest of the generous portion they served. Husband had a salad and the mac n' cheese (a guilty pleasure!), and mum had the shrimp bonanza or surprise or something like that. Let's just say it was a lot of shrimp. Sister had an ahi tuna salad and it was splendid!

Reasonable restrooms (a little dated on the fixtures folks, but not a deal killer) always help, and parking is abundant if you use the rear entrance.

    I'll go again!

What a nice restaurant ~ we started with drinks and appetizers on the patio served by a charming waitress ~ then inside for a delicious meal. We were very happy with the service, the quality of the food and the overall exeperience.

I had the seared ahi salad ~ it was wonderful.  We felt extremely blessed to have had such a lovely night at this nice resturant.  Blessingsw : ) KC

Been coming here for years, but until October, it had been a while. (Been back three times in as many months). Their newer, updated menu has some tasty Asian additions...love the seared ahi. Great service, and their Mojitos are worth calling a cab for so you can get a few rounds. Burgers are also tasty, grilled to order. Kids love the little koi pond! Don't let the fact that this is a chain restaurant put you off.

Cons: It can get pretty loud in there, and the wait can take a while during peak lunch/dinner hours.

An "E" ticket, for those of you who can remember what that once was, it was not. However, a pleasant surprise it was.

Upon entry into the Restaurant I was over taken by the BRIGHT lights!!!!!! Nothing I dislike more then bad lighting in a restaurant. Oh, yes there is, one thing. But, I'll get to that. I refer to such lighting as "family lighting."
Now comes the one other thing I dislike more then bad lighting.
I half expected to see high chairs, unruly kids and all the horrible accompaniments that come along with parents, & you know who you are, who allow their children to run freely & drop food, utensil's, what have you as if the restaurant owes you because you're purchasing some chicken nuggets.

What I did notice, however was a much more "mature" crowd as in "I think the lights seemed brighter because certain people's skin were pulled so tight their faces were reflecting the over head lighting." Seriously, one could of landed a Jumbo Jet just with the lights bouncing off the numerous face lifts a glow in there. That being said, if you're looking for a younger crowd, as I have typically experienced with other Elephant Bar locations; this is not it.

    On to the food.
What a pleasant surprise! I was sincerely in shock.
I ordered a Cobb Salad, always a safe bet when your feeling "blind", for whatever reason.  The salad was surprisingly very good. Of late, I notice when I dine out the restaurants will "shorten" the yummy toppings on most items. My Salad had just the right amount of Chicken, Egg, Bacon, & Blue Cheese. For anyone, who like me believes there must be a balance in all cooking, here was this overwhelmingly awful environment serving me the perfectly balanced Cobb Salad. For the Salad they get 4 Stars.

One of my dining companions ordered the Trout with Lobster Sauce, the other ordered the Salmon.

First, our meals were served so fast I hardly recall finishing our sentences when two food runners came over to our table with our plates. So, if you're in a rush or very, very hungry you'll be happy to know they get you your meal quickly. (Yes, I wanted to get out. It was just too bright for me. Which as I type I m reminded to say to management there; "no-one, I mean absolutely no-one looks good in bright light. Try dimming the lights and placing table top lamps if you must. Just a suggestion.)

Moving on, while my one companion opted out of the lobster sauce over her trout, what the hell does she know, me; I would have had it served on the side and at least tried it. She said the trout was "moist," & "flavorful." I was a bit surprised too, & no she's not a smoker. Which leads me to believe, although I did not poke my fork as I normally do into her meal, I was impressed with the presentation, therefore I am going to go with her assessment of "moist & flavorful.
The plate was warm, colorful and the Trout appeared to be adequately prepared & presented with rice & vegetables. A Cardio happy moment.
My other dining companion's Salmon too looked well prepared & presented. On this particular plate I did delve my fork to try a bite or two...or three, or,...Okay, I ended up eating her brown rice & a few morsels of what was there. Yes, brown rice @ your local E Bar/Rest.
The Salmon was not over cooked, was delicious, tasted fresh. (Its the desert, so I am always a bit reluctant to order fish, especially if it gets stuck in traffic en route. humor).

The final "surprising moment" came when we received our bill.
3 meals, 2 Beers, one of us was a light weight, all for a whopping 56.00 dollars. I can't remember the last time my dining bill was so inexpensive, especially for 3.
    To wrap things up.
    Food: 3.5 Stars.
    Atmosphere: 1 Star.
    Service: 4 Stars.
    Overall Experience: 3  stars.
I won't rush back anytime soon, I am just not ready to follow the "bright lights," anywhere just yet. But, I will give the E Bar credit for a meal well prepared! Thank you.

My family and I have been coming to Elephant Bar for something like 17 years and we visited again last night.  The children have always loved the place.  They used to have the big safari umbrellas over some of the tables but those went bye-bye some years ago, and the rest of the decor has been updated, but some things have remained the same.  Like the fancy ceiling fans.  And the fact that the place is always packed with customers.

Anyway, we had six adults and three kids (my grandkids) of five years and under.  Noah, the three-year-old, sat next to me and played with his crayons the whole time and didn't eat much.  The food was okay.  Most of the grownups had hamburgers; "grandma" ordered spring rolls off the appetizer menu and I ordered the Philly cheese steak.  It was okay -- just not very cheesy.  There used to be a place at Monterey and Country Club that did it right -- their cheese steaks were a delicacy! -- but what I had was mostly a lot of beef and peppers on a slightly crispy hoagie roll.  I enjoyed it, but just did not go "mmmm!"

Service, however, was slow and the waiter did not volunteer to refill our water glasses.  Would I go again?  Probably, but most likely if it was one or more of the (grown-up) children wanting to go.  There are places, like Daily Grill, Mimi's or even Red Robin, that I would put higher up on my personal list.

Despite some of the bad reviews, I had a great experience here a few weeks ago. It was my last night in the Desert so my family decided to take me here on a Tuesday night. We arrived at 7 pm and it was packed! Packed with senior citizens, but still, almost every table was filled. Anyway, we had to wait in the lobby area for around 20 minutes. The place has a cute safari theme and was very clean. So far, so good.

We were seated in a spacious, tall and private booth towards the back of the restaurant and looked over the very extensive menu. We started with some drinks, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and Coconut Shrimp skewers, which were pretty tasty appetizers. Even though it was a busy night, we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for our orders to arrive at the table.

Our group ordered various things for dinner. I had the Chicken Teriyaki, which I thought was pretty good. I'm a huge teriyaki fan and of course it is better in actual Japanese restaurants, but the flavor here was still good. My family also enjoyed there meals.

They have an awesome dessert menu! My brother and I shared this ENORMOUS mud pie. It was pretty good. It's composed of an oreo cookie crumb crust, coffee ice cream, and milk chocolate, topped with whipped cream. My only complaint was the crust. It was a bit soggy, so I concentrated more on the coffee ice cream. They also have a "Mini Indulgence Dessert" menu, which I thought was very cute. My mom ordered the mini walnut fudge brownie, which was also great.

Overall, our service was excellent, food very flavorful. I wouldn't mind coming back the next time I'm in town.

I was so excited to cash in my free chicken lettuce wrap coupon from San Marcos, that I gave this EB location a second chance.  Got seated quickly, ordered drinks & food, shared a good wedge salad (maybe not perfectly drained) which apparently contained magic invisibility potion because around then our waiter wouldn't make eye contact, bus our plates, or explain what was taking so long.  I think someone else eventually brought out our food which always arouses suspicions that they've been sitting under the warming lamps (I tested them, but they weren't hot).  HG didn't like his low-cal lemon garlic chicken breast, and after this and White Castle, I'm thinking "slider" is code for small, poor excuse for a hamburger.  The tomato bisque was good and creamy though.
I'm not giving up on my newly re-discovered Elephant Bar - the plan is to take my fresh coupon and head back to San Marcos.

Sorry - but I still feel you get to review a restaurant between 3-5pm...especially if you sit at the bar.
I haven't been to this place in about 5 years, but I remembered it being ok - boy, things have changed.
1 - Service: Bartender...hello...?  we are all the way down here - 5 chairs away from the sketchy alcololic couple you in deep conversation with...!
2 - Food: Not pictures on the menu!  Oh god - how many restaurants are going to pattern themselves after Denny's??  Ordered the sliders.
    "would you like cheese?"  "yes"
Did I get cheese?  No.  Now, I have to chase down the bartender/bad waiter back from that conversation with the 12 step escapees to ask if he can rustle up a few pieces of cheese for me to add to my sliders.  The burgers were so dried up and untasty that I really didn't want them, but it was the principle at this point.
He then ended his shift before we got the bill, and turned us over to the evening bartender - I think.  He didn't tell us that or say goodbye.  Too bad we didn't get there 20 minutes later - they relief tender had service and communication skills that we were too thru with the place to appreciate.
It must be ok for the locals here - and maybe better at dinner hours, but I don't care - give me good service whenever I come in, if you are going to be open for biz.

Crowning moment was a few hours later with the heartburn.

We happened to drive by this place at lunch time on Labor Day and we've always wanted to check them out.

I am only giving this place 4 stars because of the service, we could barely understand the thick accent of our waitress and the service was a little slow, especially with the place only 1/3 full.

All of us loved our lunch and desserts. No complaints. The tomato bisque was perfect, very tempting to lick that bowl clean! Generous portions on our deserts, none of us finished.

We loved the atmosophere, from the large booths, the wall decor, to the plates they served our meal on. Their menu is extensive and since it is a chain restaurant I would be very happy to go to any of their establishments in the future.

I wouldn't waste my time here. I would rather eat fast food than eat here ever again! Just not worth the price for the quality of food or the service. I'm surprised they've managed to stay open for so long. Restaurant is EMPTY every time I've been there and that itself should be a clue! BTW I have been there 3 times now, once by choice and twice because I was forced to!. Not ever stepping foot in that place ever again.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents.

The food is okay. However, for the price, you'd think it would at least be worth going into detail about.

The main reason I wanted to chime in here is due to the incredibly poor service. I lived in the desert here for over 7 years and literally work right down the street. I have only been to the Elephant Bar twice, and neither experience was enough motivation to want another return trip. The staff, seemingly always busy, behaved that way even to an empty restaurant. Both times, we left unsatisfied and incredibly thirsty.

This is a "hot place" for all the retired tourists out here and I just don't get it.

    The service was pretty good.
I mean our waiteress would take our order and then take off again, but she had a lot of tables.
    The jambalaya sauce was amazing!
But it had a little too many tomatoes!
My daughter got the kids mac & cheese....
Let's just say it was a little TOO dry.. :(
Honestly they just have a LOT of things on there menu..
For dessert I had the baked apple and it is to die for and my daughter just had plain vanilla ice cream and it is acturally really good!
The ice cream had a won-ton around and it is super good!
    :)

Eh. I would say that is an accurate summary of the elephant bar.

I will sing praises for the lightning-fast refills on my diet coke. And my mom's lettuce wraps were super tasty. And the price was so very right. So, why my "eh" feeling? Well, I ordered the jambalaya- one of their signature dishes. Firstly, it had been under a heatlamp so long that the little pile of rice had a hard shell. Yuck. And the dish tasted Italian! If it had been called something else and served over pasta, I would have been ok. Jambalaya it was not.
And the people there are totally weird.

The people in the restaurant: Fucking weird. One dude rubbed his ass up against my girlfriend's back as he was walking out and just stared at her. The server looked and acted like he was raised in a basement for the first 15 years of his life, his social skills were a bit dull to say the least. He recommended a good drink but it was way too sugary. Also, there was a hispanic man on the phone while taking a shit in the bathroom. Weird.

The food: Pretty damn good. My girlfriend and I had small citrus salads and they were pretty tasty and Josh ate Chicken Marsala. All very good. We had the sweet potato fries before the meals and those were wonderful as well.

All in all, the atmosphere was a bit weird but the food and decor were great.

I am in total agreement with my Yelping buddy, James M. I have gone here several times over the years and have never been disappointed. The food has always been decent to really good and their prices are reasonable caution you one thing...If you go after work, especially on a Friday, be prepared to push and shove your way to the bar...it gets really busy during "cocktail hour".
I don't really suggest going here with a date...to me it just doesn't compute
for that...but, to hang with friends and have a nice time, go for it!
    Service: 3.5
    Food: 3.5
    Drinks: 5
    Parking: 4
    A good time: 5
    Decor: 4
So, I give it a solid 4 and I hope some of you will ck it out when you are in the desert. Oh...casual dress and leave your attitude at the door!

We've been coming to this restaurant since the 1980's and it is definitely a unique experience to be sure.  It always seems to be packed with people and scores of parties waiting in the small lobby to be seated.
We learned early on, take a pager and sit in the bar; we usually end up ordering our food in the bar and everything works out just fine.  After all folks, this is good food, low prices and usually good service.  Leave your attitude somewhere else...
Last night we were going to the McCallum for a concert and decided to try a couple specials.  We had the chicken cutlets and the scampi and linguini in lobster sauce along with a couple margaritas.  Mind you, all this for  $21.42 plus a nice tip for the best waitress we've had in years.  The food was very tasty and served hot!  What more could anyone ask?

We got to the restaurant at 8 pm on a Saturday night.  We stood and waited along with about 3 different groups of people for a host to come and take our names.

Since the restaurant is open you can see everyone and there were at least a dozen employees including one that looked like a manager who could see the front door and the host stand where we all were, but no one came over.

Finally one of this mass of people went and told a waiter who finally walked over and said, "I don't work up here, but I'll get you a table".  So we were seated after 10 minutes of waiting.

Then it took another 4 or 5 minutes for our waiter to come over.  So I would rate this place very low because of the service alone.  The food was alright, not the best, not the worst.   Prices were so-so, it costs under $50 for three of us with two beers on the tab.

I would steer clear, there are plenty of other places to eat in this town.

Solid food, decent prices, good service and kid-friendly! Nice selection of salads although they could be bigger - not enough to fill you up for dinner. Interesting selection of dishes including classic american, seafood, jamaican and asian. Fabulous bar area and they had sam adams seasonal on tap! And the deserts are humongous and amazing, don't pass these up. The kids meals are a great deal as well.
