Pleasant atmosphere, as usual.
The salads were quite tasty. Â I had an Asian inspired theme and I plan to have it again.
I ordered a Sangria and there was more ice than anything in the glass. Â I should always remember to ask for no ice, or very little ice.
Overall it was a lovely dinner.
I got a tiny salmon filet with fibrous asparagus and dry brown rice. My wife got a tiny amount of sea food on her sea food salad. Â We are small people, so complaining about portion size is not something I've ever done before, but this time was different. We were both hungry a few hours later. Â Not only was the quantity inadequate, but the preparation was amateur. Â Really, fibrous ends on the asparagus! Â Even beginners know to snap off the ends to prevent that. I was particularly disappointed as all of the other Elephant Bars that I have eaten at were really good. Â Apparently Simi is an exception. Â Come on Simi, you can do better!
Review Source:So I signed up for the Elephant Bar email club recently. Earlier this week, I received an email about their lunch specials. Buy one get one free it said. I told lunch buddy we were goin here, and his response was less than optimistic. Â But we went anyways. Â Knowing it was on the other side of town, and would be a haul from work, I perused the lunch menu and figured out what I'd like so I could call and order while en route.
Noon arrived, and I launched myself from my cube. Lunch buddy and I walked out to his car. While he was clearing the shotgun seat of it's various baby paraphernalia, newspapers, and other random things, I dialed up the restaurant and asked to place an order for when we got there. There was no confusion at all; no 'I'll have to ask my manager" no nothin. Girl on the phone was Aces with my request. Orders placed, I hopped in lunch buddy's vehicle and we left.
Fast forward twelve minutes later, when we pull up to the Elephant Bar parking lot. I guess we parked in the back, because we had to walk 3/4 the way around the place before finding a 'front door'. It had an elephant as the door handle, it's shiny trunk formed the door handle. We walked in, and I informed girl behind the counter that we had placed the call-ahead order. She lead us past a life-sized rhino head hanging on the wall to a table right away, and told us our food would be right out. We sat down, and waited a little bit. I looked around, and there were many empty tables. I guess lunch isn't their normal thing? (Why a Rhino? I have no idea.)
Waiter guy Trevor came out and asked us for our drink requests, and then said again how our food would be right out. He went away to get our drinks...a few minutes later, he came back, completely overwhelmed by 2 plates, and the drinks balancing precariously in his arms. I was honestly a bit concerned for my lunch as he balanced his way out to our table.
He unloaded his arms, and I got my Wood-Fired salmon in cilantro-citrus sauce placed in front of me. It looked healthy, and also pretty tasty. I'd have honestly preferred a big burger, but I'm trying to be good, so this was the healthier option. I tentatively flaked off some of the salmon, and swirled it around in the sauce. There were a combination of sauces goin on. I honestly missed the flavors of citrus and cilantro, but I more picked up on a peanut taste of some kind. Weird. It was still good though. There was in addition, a small bowl of a yogurt/cucumber sauce that I wasn't 100% sure what to put on. My veggies were tasty, but I imagine boiled. The broccoli was not the kind I'm used too. It was actually kinda pretty.
Lunch buddy was eating his Macau Shrimp noodle soup stuff and salmon rolls. He said how he enjoyed them both. He followed up with 'I'm glad we came here." When the check came, it was about twenty bucks, which we split and paid about twelve bucks each. After we finished eating, we hopped back in the Screamin' Honda Civic and drove back to work. I sat down in my cube with 1 minute to spare.
All in all it was a fairly positive experience. Calling ahead was a breeze, getting there wasn't too terrible, the food was pretty good, and we handled our lunch effectively in a lunch break. Good job Elephant Bar, good job. I may be back for lunch!
Went in yesterday Friday June 14, 2013 to get some drinks. Went to the bar area it was packed, luckily we were able to find some seats. We figured eh its the bar, its busy our service wont be the best so we were expecting at most ok service but like i said we went for drinks so service wasnt really our concern. ordered a few drinks and my goodness we had the best freakin service we've had in a long time!! There were three individuals working behind the bar Tabitha, Christian, and Nick (we made sure to get their names after that service) They were amazing! Drinks were ordered and BAM on our tables not even 2 mins later. They were all extremely polite even made time to chat with us a bit while running the bar. It was crazy. We felt a little rude as we didnt keep the conversation so we wouldn't keep them from their jobs but wow they made our bar experience great! 5 stars isnt enough. makes us want to go back ever day hehe. :)
Review Source:My review will be based on the Sunday brunch offering.
I will also preface this review with saying I've never been to an Elephant Bar prior. We arrived Sunday at about 12 looking for lunch, and we got sucked into brunch. Our server seemed to have missed our arrival, as we didn't see her for the first 5 or 10 minutes, to the point where we had to ask the hostess for our silverware. To her credit, once our server did show up, she was on top of everything.
The selection was nice for brunch. The usual breakfast fixins and fruits, along with a decent selection of things you might consider 'last nights dinner repurposed hangover breakfast'. And then Chicken Parm, which seemed like the odd man out. For being a buffet, the food was middle of the road to just under par, which I expect at any place that isn't a dedicated buffet. Food that gets staler as it sits, or is hurredly prepared. The chicken meat made for 'tacos' and the waffles were good examples of simply 'meh' attempts. The jambilaya was good, as were the bacon and sausage. The blueberries were obviously improperly defrosted, but the rest of the fruit was great.
All in all, a very middle of the road experience. I wish I had tried the main menu, as it looked like there was lots more care put into the plates off of that menu that I saw heading to other tables...
The food is OK, but what kept me here was our server (Tabatha). She made the place come alive, we felt like we had known her forever. We plan on dining here once a week just to see her. The manager, Russ (I think) was inquisitive about what would make our dining better, I said just explain to the cooks "hot food" not warm food. He interacted great with the patrons which is unusual and good for business. We like the feeling here, we will be regulars.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I were looking for a good happy hour; unfortunately, this was not it. We got the spinach dip, which wasn't very good, and not hot. We got buffalo chicken tenders, which were ok, but didn't have much of a kick. We also got the calamari, which came in strips, and tasted more like fish sticks. Our server had the personality of a fence. Beer prices were reasonable. Cocktails were cheap as well, but very weak, so I just switched to a beer for my second drink. Overall, for $40 it was not worth it. Very mediocre food. There must be a better happy hour in Simi. May the search continue...
Review Source:We really enjoyed Elephant Bar. We went with family while visiting the LA area. We got there and we'd been told a few things but the place was amazing. It's nice and big so we didn't have to wait long even with our larger party. We had a very kind waitress who put up with our silliness. She was very helpful and recommended great things. We all shared two of the spinach artichoke dish. with a really good bread. Then I got the sirloin burger which was amazing there was so much food! It was prepared really well and it was pretty quick to get out to us. We also had amazing drinks. I had a good pineapple something (non-alcoholic but amazing!) Turns out we also have one in the south Denver area so I can't wait to go see them and make sure they are still as good.
Review Source:A group of friends and I decided to take the Simi Valley Elephant Bar for a test drive since none of us had been there yet. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by a friendly staff who quickly set us up with a comfortable table. We decided to get a bunch of appetizers and drinks for the table to share. The drinks came up quickly and the food was right behind them. I fell in love with their parmesan green beans which the server recommended. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Friendly, helpful staff took great care of us - Â made sure our drinks were never empty and the food kept on comin'! Â Great place! I will definitely be coming back with more friends!
Review Source:Had dinner here and the orange chicken with rice is EXCELLENT - 4 solid stars (would be 5 if the portion size was a bit bigger) LOOK!!! Happy Hour - you NEED BIG Screens - they got em!!! $3 margaritas - they got em!!! Stella on tap - they got em! Great munchies between $3 and $6 - they got em!!! The crispy, tempura salmon rolls (8 pcs) for $6.50 during happy hour is a great buy! Good strong wasabi, good service and drink specials - a solid 4 star happy hour experience!!!
Review Source:The buffet was inadequate. I understand that I showed up in the last hour of the buffet, but the food was old and stale. We asked them to replenish and it took twenty minutes. Once they did, the food was burnt or greasy. Overall I was disappointed. You could tell that the food was from a box.
The servers were pleasant enough, but they didn't seem to care. The omelette bar was probably the best thing, but that still seemed to take a very long time. Not to mention it was nearly $20 a person.
On the plus side, kids five and under eat for free and they don't know any better. Also, they serve decent free champagne.
Elephant Bar used to be my favorite place, food was great, the bar was fun, and just all around a good place and it's just not the case anymore.
Positive: I like there cocktail menu, always have fun choices and makes me want to drink.
Negative:
The menu has changed so much, and everything new I have ordered has been pretty bad so far. Â We had a large party, and the service was "decent", not great but have had worse, but needless to say not one person out of 19 was impressed with our food. Â The kids all ordered chicken strips and hamburgers off the kids menu, how do you screw that up ? Â well they managed, the chicken strips were awful, the kids didn't eat them even. Â The one thing they still do right is Sweet Potatoe fries, I'm not a fry person but when there we always split an order of those.
I think E-bar needs to go back to the drawing board- bring back some of there classics that were great and get all the chefs in for some training of cooking quality flavorful food that holds up to the old E bar name, and by all means bring back the jumbo coco-loco! Â The food quality is going down fast, and we don't want to lose another old time favorite.
This is Denny's for Dinner. Â Not sure why this place has a good reputation, I've been here twice and both times I'm underwhelmed. Â
First the good. Â Our server, Andre, was exceptionally good. Â He was working during a busy time and was very attentive, fast to deliver on request, and intelligent enough to know when to provide privacy. Â He belongs in a better, upscale restaurant where he can be appreciated and get big tips. Â
The place itself is a cafeteria for families with kids between 1-8 years of age. Â No one bothers to scrape off food on their sweat pants and you better be willing to giggle and goo goo gaa gaa at the kid at the next table. Â So atmosphere is not remarkable. Â Like at home but with strangers and their kids. Â The food is fine. Â I'm not going to say it was horrible, but certainly not memorable. Â First I had the walnut, pear, gorgonzola salad. Â This is usually great but here they used regular lettuce instead of romaine or spinach, so it was like at a buffet bar with sprinkles of walnuts(few) and pears. Â I had the Shrimp Adventure platter and everything was fine. Â The sauce was fine. Â The batter was fine. Â For dessert we had creme brulle, and I'm a bit of a snob when it come to desert so i was disappointing with this simple dessert. It was hot in some spots and cold in others. The custard was not 'eggy' enough per my wife. Â Portion was big though. Â
Drinks: Road to Lahaina and Colada. Â Colada had too much cream in it, making it like a shake with liquid at the bottom. Â Rum was hard to recognize. Â Lahaina was not good, and I recommend avoiding. Â BUT, it had plenty of alcohol.
I wont be coming here by choice again. Â First time I was invited to meet someone , this time we had a gift card we had to use....
Burgers not made like they care, salads pre made, nothing is fresh made, avocados brown and spotted, Cobb salad was made the day before put in fridge and served soggy with cold mushy chicken, and watered down ranch dressing, simply put, lazy stupid manager and staff, oh, service hum, I was ignored by dark haired waitress, a bus boy got me a menu, finally ask a lead waiter if I could be served by anyone who didn't have something more important to do, he was very cool and attentive but, shouldn't they all be like that,.. Right, another example of poor looser management who will let the ship sink over time,... Most people will not complain, they just won't come back,... Else where I will go :) - Bui
Review Source:The short version is that we had an awesome server (Michael I believe), but the food and menu was horribly disappointing compared to my previous experiences at other E-Bar locations.
E-Bar has been my favorite restaurant for years. This was my first trip to the one in Simi Valley. Â I spoke highly of the Shanghai Cashew Chicken to my boyfriend, who was eager to try it. When I saw it was no longer on the menu, the server told us that E-Bar is trying to phase out or revise all items that previously had nuts of any kind due to it being the most common allergen now that the chain is increasing in size.
WHAT?!? If that's really the case, it's a poor excuse to avoid a liability. There are TONS of restaurants that don't have issues with omitting nuts or other allergens for sensitive customers and it should not be an excuse to stop serving its previously great items. Should it stop serving shellfish or remove the strawberries from the cheesecake or other desserts as well? Given the large population of people with gluten or other allergies, following simple instructions to include/exclude certain items means catering to specific needs, not removing items altogether.
I ended up ordering the Mongolian Beef, a SPICY item which I'd previously enjoyed at other locations. It was ok, but it wasn't spicy at all and tasted different from previous times. I originally thought it was a revision due to the new changes mentioned above, but I eventually found a single pepper in there, which tells me the proportion of ingredients was way off.
One of the other members in my group had to send back her item because the meat was dry and the sauce wasn't very good. The server was quick to replace it and even provided our table with a dessert to share. He went above and beyond but this was the first time in all the years I've been going to E-Bar that I've ever had anyone in my group send back an item.
always pleased when i come into this Elephant Bar either for some grub or just for a drink or two while watching some sports.. The servers and bartenders are always friendly and I always readily available for when I need something. The menu has changed over the 10 plus years i have been coming here but my favorite dish is still there, the Shang-hi Cashew Chicken and I do like a lot of the newer items. I always try to get something differen to try when i come in but sometimes I'm just craving the Cashew Chicken.
Keep up the great food and great service as I'll be back in soon for the Stanley Cup Finals!!! GO KINGS GO!!!
The only reason they get 2 stars is because the service was good. Â Not great, just good. Â Very friendly, just not too attentive with drink re-fills. Â
The food was very very bland. Â I had their honey wood grilled salmon, and it was a bad cut of fish, burned pretty bad, and the corn dish on the side seemed like it was out of a can and burned. On top of that there was no flavor!!! I remember getting salmon from E bar in the past and it was delicious. Â My girlfriend got the french dip and that had no flavor at all, the bread was bad, and she didn't even finish eating half of it. Â We did have the caramel ice cream cookie for desert and that was pretty good, as well as the mac and cheese we started with. Â
We even heard the older couple in the booth next to us complaining that the shrimp they had was bland. Â And on top of it there was another table complaining about the food. I felt bad for the poor waiter because it seemed like he was doing a lot of apologizing and damage control for the sub par quality of the food. Â Â
Long story short it was a very disappointing dinner and we will not be going back.
I used to LOVE the Elephant Bar and grew up going there. Unfortunately, ever since they changed the menu, I don't care for any of the menu items. I used to love their oriental chicken salad, but now the food is just not so good.
BUT this is the place to go for Happy Hour as they have pretty good deals. You will notice the bar area is the busiest area during those hours. They have a late happy hour too.
This review is for 01/26/2012. Our company had a meeting in the nearby area and after several hours in training, WE GOT HUNGRY!! Our company SUPERBOSS took us all out to a regular place called the Elephant Club. Wait...Did my SUPERBOSS say, "Elephant Club"?! After I followed our SUPERBOSS, we arrived at the Elephant Bar.
Our company arrived around 2:30pm to a late lunch since we had a meeting. We had a party of 20+ people and the staff gathered all the tables. As our table waitress was going around, I'd say 80% of the staff ordered alcoholic drinks. Oh boy...here we go. Unfortunately, I was driving and played the safe route and ordered a Diet Coke. In a way, our meeting was a celebration since every one ordered 2-3 alcoholic drinks. From Mojitos to Corona, drinks came coming every couple of minutes.
I kept thinking....I thought this was lunch and there was the waitress asking for orders. I went for the Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich with Potato Fries ($9.50). You got to love those Potato Fries. Its one of Elephant Bar's signature food items. With our table taking up most of the kitchen service, the wait was about 20-25 minutes.
Once I got my order, I saw a delicious amount of trouble. I saw the sandwich was drippy with the sauce, but I could smell the BBQ and the bacon. I just ruined my diet for the year. It was delicious, but too greasy. Yes, I am supposed to spoil myself with a company paid meal, but GEEZ, the sandwich was just a mess. The size of the sandwich was average, but it was a little tall. Did I finish it? Of course, I did.
Ugh....So much for trying to lose 25lbs for the 2012 Year. I still got 11 months to go and Elephant Bar did not help. Oh well, I guess I can shoot for 2lbs a month instead of 20lbs a month. What do you think?
Yelp is My Review, My Story, and My Life. Its time to share it.
I give this place 5 stars not because they have the best food in the world, but like every place... there's the best in it's class. E-Bar is the best in it's class. The food is consistent, the vibe is great, decor is fun, happy hour is phenomenal. Not only have I been going here since I was a wee lill one {{for birthdays, family gatherings, you name it}}, but it's the best place to go for almost anything. Like what you ask? HAPPY HOUR, group dinners, weekday bevvy escapes, awkward online first dates, any sports game on, casual summer patio nights, even live bands on Wednesday nights. I'm actually rather shocked this place is in Simi, it's the only place we have like this AND one of the few restaurants that has managed to stay open for 20+ years. It's my ONLY go-to in Simi.
PRICES - HOLY HAPPY HOUR!! Are you kidding me? 2 different happy hours, at those prices... how do you make money?? On top of that, they have this rewards card that gives you even more off the more you use it! My fav items {{crave them biweekly}} - chicken fingers {{best ever since I was 5}}, seared ahi, mac n cheese, calamari, mojito. It's not the best mojito in the world, but if you knew how hard it is to find a decent mojito, you'll appreciate this one.
E-Bar deserves this 5 star, they have never let me down... in 25 years. Thanks E-Bar~
Lets put it this way... I walked out... I've yet to return.
After being seated it took well over 30 minutes to order, and once the food came out the server disappeared. We asked other servers to find our server and requested more drinks... 40 minutes later I called the restaurant and had the manager walk to the table. We were brought drinks and given free desserts (hardly enough to make up for the horrible service), and the food was mediocre at best.
Here's the deal. Elephant bar sometimes is good and sometimes is not. For the last year they have had horrible service. I am not saying the waiters are bad at their job, they are simply spread way too thin. I put the blame solely on management and that is why I only return when others invite me to.
This restaurant has been in Simi Valley for a long time. Good and unique dishes but now they often times come out cold because the waiters are running wild trying to serve people in a timely manner. Everytime we end up waiting far too long for refills, dessert and especially our bill. Hopefully the next time I am invited to return, they will have realized how much this is effecting their guests and make some nice changes. Until then... I will eat somewhere else.
So here is my update on the Elephant Bar....
NOT HAPPY!
It really is a shame that I have had the worst experience with the Elephant Bar, because their Happy Hour/Menu/Food...is all wonderful I will give them that....
BUT....all those things are small in comparison to Customer Service.
So I went to the Elephant Bar last Friday night with a group of people for Happy Hour. Â I ordered 2 Margarita's and sushi rolls. Â My bill was 10.55...Not to shabby right....
well, our waitress mixed up my debit card with the other group from our party (who I might mention i just met that night b/c i went with a friend) and their bill was 142.05.....HUGE DIFFERENCE RIGHT....i even wrote my name on the bill next to what i ordered and the waitress still mixed it up... i signed the correct bill thankfully
when i get home (a woman's intuition is #1) i get a feeling i need to check my acct online...thank god i did....
i call them immediately and told them what happened and they tell me b/c it is the weekend it will be taken care of on Monday, but that it's obvious that the cards got mixed up........fine.
So i call them on Monday to speak with a manager to make sure the message got passed on....let me say it is now THURSDAY of the FOLLOWING WEEK Â and they keep telling me the same thing....it'll get taken care of, I have to wait for so and so to get here around 3 to do it.... bla bla bla....they have offered me gift cards which is nice, but i want my money back. Â it's not like it was a small amount difference, it's a HUGE difference. Â I have spoken to every manager there and nothing has been taken care of. Â Not to mention now my car payment has gone through, my account is now negative and I have not been able to eat or go grocery shopping b/c they won't give me my money back.
I feel bad for bitching on here about this situation but I am just so frustrated with this place, i have heard the same thing over and over and NOTHING is being done about it. Â
I will take action if this is not resolved tomorrow (Friday). Â I think I have been more than patient and nice about this whole thing. Â I don't know who to blame for my kindness trait, but I guess out here in LA you have to be a BITCH to get things taken care of... Â at least my bank is on my side here and is working with me.
I think I have always had this wierd assocation with elephant bar and it being ghetto, I realize now that this is b./c for a time period i lived in Pomona and obviously all of Pomona is ghetto. Anyway.
What I liked about this visit is that they have a 9-11pm HH and a lot of items to chose from and good items. My friend and I got the ahi tuni dish and spring rolls that come with 2 sauces ( a peanut and sweet cilantro type sauce). And both were delish! Service was good, and the place was not busy at all, granted this was 10pm Monday night.
Overall I was impressed, i wish there was an Elephant bar near where I live, b/c the alcohol HH prices really seem like a deal.
My spouse had mentioned eating here before and enjoying the food, so I was looking forward to lunching there with him and his brothers. Â I went onto the EBR website a couple nights ago to look at their menu (not a feature functioning well on the site), and saw the Shrimp Adventure Platter. Â As a shrimp lover, I started salivating, got really excited and couldn't wait to go.
My husband and a brother ordered a shrimp entree to share as an appetizer, while I and the other brother shared a hot artichoke dip. Â I love hot artichoke dip, but it was terribly disappointing to observe something which looked like baby puke, and where the flavor wasn't outstanding. Â Then to really blow things, my spouse informed me the shrimp he was eating was a total bust and I'd better rethink my planned entree.
My husband said his lamb shank was okay, just not great (not as good as he recalled from the past). And we pretty much said the same thing to all the other dishes we tried (penne pasta, cha siu, and chicken madeira). What we all agreed was good was the serving of mixed vegetables with the entree dishes, as well as the orange creme brulee cheesecake dessert.
To summarize the experience, I'd say the best part was the ride there and back in my brother-in-law's Jag XF. Â I really WANTED to love this place, but it was mediocre.
I went there with executives of the company I just joined and new coworkers the other day. The interior definitely has that Amazon-theme decoration that I've seen at other Elephant Bar locations. Using a different color for the short steps helped me make sure that I wouldn't miss a step.
Anyway, for some reason, when two people ordered Dr. Pepper and Pepsi respectively, a waitress switched these drinks mistakenly. They had to switch between themselves, so that was a little annoying.
What annoyed more was that I ordered Jambalaya and instead got mixed meat "curry" with separate rice and bread. I was expecting the mix of the rice and the curry, so that was a disappointment. While the taste was alright, the overall was nothing memorable.
I would not comment harsher because I was treated for this lunch, but in order to help other interested, I decided to comment of my finding objectively.
Since the sun was out and we had guests in town, we wandered over to Elephant Bar for mojito's on the patio. Â Felt like vacation!
The guys wanted to relive their youths with a Coco Loco in a fishbowl. Â Sorry, no more fishbowls. Â But they were able to get Coco Loco's in tall bamboo shaped glasses. Â I thought that was a nice compromise. Â The guys just kept nodding their heads and muttering, "It's just not the same..."
We only had appetizers and they were delicious. Â Our waitress was just OK. Â She was kind of sarcastic. Â I hope it was her attempt at being funny but it really came off wrong.
The patio was a great escape and perfect for enjoying an afternoon of pre-Spring weather.
If you're in the mood for peace & quiet, sit in the far back room on the left side as you enter, otherwise be prepared to shout yourself horse or bring earplugs. Otherwise...
They've improved their menu considerably in the last year.
The sauce on the Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi for a mere $14.95 tasted like a Michelin-rated (okay for those limited to the USA, "Zagat-rated"!) dining adventure. Excellent presentation on lovely dinner-ware, etc.
However, ask for it cooked "lightly" as I don't care for overdone fish.
The baby-back ribs were succulent suckers and you can get an optional "fruit side dish" in place of coleslaw that was plentiful, fresh and varied.
In all, it now compares to Cheesecake Factory in good service (hot waitresses if you're a younger dude), nice ambiance and excellent food at a not over-the-top price.
Bon chance & bon appetite.
The Elephant Bar! I mean, where else can your dining experience be a safari! I know, it is a total gimmick, but when I see the elephant head doorknob and the automatic fans on the ceiling, I just can't help but like the place.
We had the macadamia-crusted fish and chips and a chicken salad of some sort. The couple we went with weren't expecting Asian fusion from a place with an African theme. But even then, the steaks and burgers kept them happy.
The fish and chips were okay, maybe a little too crispy and lacking tartar sauce (the chimmichurri was good though). The salad, on the other hand, was amazing. I am such a freak when it comes to caramelized walnut and bleu cheese crumbles. And the chicken went really well with the mixed greens, it didn't seem like an after thought like it seems with most salads.
Our waitress was anorexic, yet attentive. In the end, I was stuffed and happy. Wanted to try the dessert, but maybe another time.
I look forward to our next adventure!!!
I'm new to http://Yelp.com but I felt compelled to sign up for the sheer benefit of posting my experiences at Elephant Bar as of late.
My most recent experience was when the hostesses ignored my husband and I for a period of time well beyond what should be considered acceptable. They were talking about non-work related things, and seemed indifferent to us even being there.
The service seemed extremely slow. We actually had to ask several wait staff members if they were our server! Time from front door to the time we could order food: 25 minutes (and that's with no one waiting in the entry to be seated!!!)
The food was good, but I was ill afterward. Hopefully it wasn't from the food.
My experiences after that have been rather similar - long waits for no reason, indifferent servers, and hit or miss food. I'll save my money and take it to a restaurant that actually cares about it's patrons.
