The seafood was extremely fresh, even at 8pm on a Sunday night. Seafood combo (shrimp, oysters, clam strips and frog legs with fries for $15.99, but you get a 10% discount if you're staying at one of the local motels. Oh yeah, fresh gator is available fried, broiled or blackened. I saw several people order pizza and they all looked like very respectable, fresh made, with a good amount of toppings.  Have fun!

Grab a couple bottles of beer and enjoy the scenery outside.  The frog legs and raw oysters were good.  Also got gator nuggets.

The coconut shrimp had no coconut, sparking an argument with the waitress. The hamburgers were plain but good. Crabcakes tasted like tunafish. Alligator was tender and tasty. I would rate it higher but the help was just surly! They seemed to lack basic vocabulary of words like sorry, please, thank you etc. They did come around fairly often but ick! Subpar food, don't give a damn help.  Not a pleasing experience!

First of all, the food was good.  The problem is, even though we got past the part that it's a whole in the wall kind of dirty place, the waitress litterally touched our food.  One of our party ordered a plain cheese burger, the other ordered it with everything.  She got confused and blamed the kitchen for the mistake and litterally used her fingers to remove the lettuce and tomato and put it on her serving tray.  Then she got to my brothers hamburger that was supposed to have lettuce and tomato and took the bun off, placed the lettuce and tomato on it and put it down in front of him.  none of us were able to eat after that.  We went to leave and paid for our appetizer and drinks but refused to pay for the food which we did not eat.  I really should call the Florida health department as she was wiping her hands on her uniform and we had seen her sneeze onto her hands without washing them afterwards.

As a frequent visitor to Everglades City, a foodie and lover of fried frog legs and fresh shrimp, I had thought that I had hit all of the best places, but thanks to my fellow Yelper, Jim D., who guided and accompanied me to the Everglades Seafood Depot Restaurant & Market I found out otherwise.

The frog legs served here are some of the freshest tasting, most plump and succulent I've found anywhere and their shrimp some of the tastiest best ever yet with the bonuses being all served at a reasonable price and on an outside deck offering on of the best waterfront views available.

They also offer the freshest in a line of daily catch in fish and other local seafood upon which Everglades City has made a well established reputation.

We has a great lunch. Service made this fun and they were right on top of things. The prices were reasonable. We had the combo lunch special with fish strips and gator both fried. Both were good. We would go back.

Not a bad place by any means.  The service was good and so was the food.  It's big draw is the salad bar with peel and eat shrimp. Not too bad for the price.  I ate a fish sandwich which wasn't bad at all.

For $8.99 you get a great salad bar with all the shrimp you can eat and a million dollar view. The staff is very friendly and very fast. I met the owner who came down from the roof to meet me. It's a great place to go for lunch and if you want some gator they make a good plate . The shrimp is so fresh that they smack you in the face. I have returned three times and I plan another trip in the near future. It is dated into the 70's and the music is country with some Elvis, Dolly, and Belmonts mixed in, it all adds to the charm, its a great place to relax and have a drink when the bar is open.

nice waterside dining. Food was average. Portion size good but tasted a bit packaged.  We had the seafood pasta and pasta with zesty marinara. Key lime was ok but the worst of four different locations we sampled in southern Florida.

Came for lunch so it was pretty quiet. The place is massive. Food and service were decent but nothing stood out. I guess people can fish and they'll cook it for you.

On our recent Florida vacation we stayed in Everglades City two nights, and had dinner at the Seafood Depot both nights. Good Food, good value, good location!  They had a large all you can eat seafood buffet for $35, but we went for their all you can eat Shrimp and Salad bar for $8.99. You could fill up on shrimp, but there were lots of delicious salads and soup too. The Fruit Salads, and delicious fresh fruits (especially the pineapple) made a great "dessert". The second night they had a band  in the outside area. We stayed inside, where we could still hear them, but enjoy our conversation....besides we had been outside all day doing Everglades tours that leave out of Everglades City.

We took 11 people here the day after Thanksgiving.  All you can eat seafood buffet for $35.  I ate my weight in stone crab, crab legs and crawfish.  Awesome place with pretty good service.
Everglades city is kind of the place that time forgot and that's a good thing.

My sister and I were in Everglades City recently and had dinner here one night, mostly because it was one of two restaurants still open in the low season. I had the fish sandwich and my sister had the salad bar with all you can eat shrimp. The shrimp were pretty decent, nice and big with pretty good flavor. My sandwich was excellent a whole piece of fish, very fresh and well prepared. A little pricey, but better than the restaurant we'd been the night before (the oyster house). Service was friendly and attentive, the view of the river was beautiful. The only thing ruining the atmosphere were the people smoking a few tables down from us.

Pretty cool place, right on the river, outdoor seating as well as indoors..the Depot used to be just that. Barron Gift Collier spent a lot of money and energy opening this area up back in the 20's and this was the terminus for his railroad. But the Depression and hurricanes took a toll on the place and now it's just a restaurant and bar.
Now, it's fun to sit outside, overlooking the Collier River but when the sun goes down one notices everyone moving inside. That's because this is mosquito country and they are vicious! You've been warned!
The food is pretty good..had the Fried Oysters/Gator Tails with a big salad and fried Okra for less than $15..their Key Lime Pie was pretty good too. I like their All-You-Can-Eat Gulf Shrimp in the shell..big, meaty things along with a so-so salad bar. But, hey, for $7.95 it's a deal. I loved the locals who come here..good, honest, hard-working folk who love their little town perched on the edge of a vast swamp.

varied menu....fish dishes, 3 on menu -sometimes 4, a "special" - come broiled, blackened, fried or jerk. shrimp in various forms, crabcakes, some local stone crabs, chicken, pasta, steak dinners.
also, sandwiches and an "all you can eat" salad bar with "endless shrimp" included for $7.95. (salad bar with dinner add $1.95). desserts inc. key lime pie, pecan pie, several types cheesecake,
on two eating occasionsthere had red snapper special, served whole,...grilled and blackened tilapia, both with new red/parsley potatoes (baked/fried/rice avail.). both occasions food was good, service was also even though first night was very busy.
beer and wine list is sparse (better like bud), sam adams on draft was out second time there.
kids would be happier here than other local places.
for dinner and a drink figure about $22 per person, but could be less if only ordering sandwiches.
a decent place to eat...not fancy, but the food was good and outside of camilla st. grill probably the best place around for dinner.

First off, LOVE Everglades City. If you have had it with society and just want to get away from everything, come out here.

We came here for a small bite and a beer. The place is massive, and there is a huge outside area. Upon entering, there were 8 or 9 waitresses sitting in the bar area to the right, in the dark, looking bored as f - all, looking at us as excited as cows in the morning.

We sat outside, but not at the bar, which was jammed with people. There was some Jimmy-Buffet type dude in a tropical shirt and straw hat set up with an electronic drum machine and a violin (!), playing standard tiki bar tunes. He was super loud, and not very good, but people were having a fine time drinking and dancing, it was a good vibe.

You'd think with 8 bored waitresses at least one would want to come out and get us drinks. Not so fast. Eventually one came out, and she wasn't even the one we were supposed to have, but she stayed with us and was instrumental in keeping us from getting up and going to the alligator head store down the street for some Gatorade and a bag of Doritos. She was a genuine sweetheart, really.

We ordered 2 Sam Adams, but we were served Amber Bock. Maybe these folks think that any beer that isn't colored like piss must be all the same?

We got the appetizer sampler of frog legs, fried alligator nuggets and conch fritters. I have never had a frog leg. These were so tasty I could have devoured buckets. Same with the alligator nuggets. Yummy, crunchy, tender! Conch fritters I liked, but my fiance, who has more "southern" experience than I do, wasn't too impressed.

We couldn't stay for dinner, but we got the guava cheesecake. The menu states that the guava cheesecake has a touch of guava in it. I was picturing real, guava flavored cheesecake. This stuff looked like someone bought regular cheesecake at Publix, smeared some guava jelly on it, then drizzled it with lime juice. We ate it anyway, though.

I wasn't overwhelmed at all by this place, but I would order the sampler again, and I would get drunk at their bar with all the happy redneck folk.

We went here to do the touristy thing...order the gator and frog legs...get completely grossed out when gator and frog legs arrive at table...attempt to eat gator and frog legs...leave restaurant feeling VERY hungry still.

LOL, the waitress was a bit annoyed at us, but she must get this alot.

My first taste of Croc and Gator was here and Ioved every bit of it. It's at the end of the road near a place where you actually hold a baby croc and go on an awesome airboat ride through the everglades.

The restaurant is very large with a great outside place to eat. It looked like it can house 500 people, with how large the place is. When I went it was with a group of 5 and all of us enjoyed our stay here at the Everglades Seafood Depot. . . .  just ignore the name and go.

    Enjoy!

This is one of the larger restaurants in Everglades City and can accomodate large groups fairly easily and they don't mind splitting checks.  They have an outdoors eating area, a bar with a huge TV that you can chill at and the main dining area.

The service is okay, the wait staff is quick with the initial order but the food takes a bit longer.  The food itself is okay nothing major to write home about, however they win big when it comes to variety.  They have a nice variety of seafood, as many S. Florida restaurants do, but they also have Gator, frog legs and turtle.  I peronaly stick to the more traditional seafood like... shrimp.  lol

The restaurant itself is a little dated, kind of old, needs some updating.
