Great food!
We had the onoin rings, wasn't sure about a honey dip, But it was differant and good
The mushroom crustini  Great
Ceaser salad was as good as it gets, or better!
My wife had the shrimp added to hers. Â Not cold pre cooked shrimp, freshly cooked to perfection!
Wife had chicken picada (sp) Â very good. Had capers, not something we like that much, BUT was still very good.
Me I Â had the chorizo burger, again very good !
We we're so full we had to bring desert home. Haven't tried it yet , but it smells great.
It was DEAD as in other reports. But we were not looking for bar to hang out in. We we're the first couple at 6 on a Friday. When we left there were 3 other couples.  But who  really likes a place packed with people and the noise that goes with it? Not me.
Better get there before all those other people figuire it out :)
Can't wait to go back and try the Carbonara and scampi
We hadn't been into Evviva in a few months, we had dinner and drinks there last night and were not disappointed. Â I was surprised to see there was a new bocce court installed next to their west wall and some huge new artwork too. Â Service was friendly and attentive, food was very good! Â We had the chicken pesto flatbread, shrimp, death by garlic ravioli, evviva fries, and meatballs. Â Everything was delicious. Â We stayed after dinner and had some cocktails. Â A nice guy showed us how to play bocce and we played a game. Â I was pleased to see the crowd was an 30ish demographic like myself, there to just socialize and relax. Â No DJ or loud music (thank goodness) just a nice crowd of people. Â Glad to support independently owned businesses in our city, rather than giving my $ to a gross food chain.
Review Source:I came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. (Just to let some of you know, they discontinued brunch :(( ) I am super duper sad that they discontinued the brunch there. It was pretty cool with unlimited mimosas & delicious bloody marys. It was my friend's birthday that day, so they gave us a complimentary dessert that was to die for. It was some sort of chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! YUM! I could taste it in my mouth now! I also had this grilled shrimp salad that had a some red dressing. It was pretty good & different from other restaurants. Will be coming back for happy hour & dinner.
Review Source:I ate the chorizo burger without the bun (they did that for me no problem) with the jalapeno mayonnaise, then we shared the warm bacon spinach salad and Italian edamame - with every bit of my burger I "mmmm"'d and "aaah"'d over it - WOW. My boyfriend at the sante fe prawn tacos....they were super yummy too!
The waitstaff were very sweet and checked on us just enough.
I wouldn't go here for an intimate dinner...we went on a Friday night and it definitely is more like a bar feel...but that was fine and kinda expected. Just wouldn't go if you mind big groups of short mini skirted twenty year olds prancing in mid dinner and distracted your BF lol!
Happy I found this place! YUMMY!!!
Evviva has great Happy Hour prices, but thats too bad their service is awful. I had my birthday celebration at this place back when it first opened and my friends and I come often to support this venue. But it just seems that they only cater to Stockton Joe's customers and friends they already know. I guess they wont be seeing us again...
Review Source:I tried Evviva agin after first time was terrible. Sorry to say, the 2nd time was even worse than the first. I was told they are part of Stockon Joes. You would think they would have customer service and restaurante experience??Not...
Service poor to say the least. No one attended to our table. Not even for a glass of water?? Really... When waited on, our order took forever, and the food was so-so.. We felt like we didnt' belong with all the hooded seat shirts, hats, and trash type people...Just not my style and I'd rather spend my money and time
where I fit in and want a good meal and service...
Bad experience never again.
Long story short, they served my roommates girlfriend a glass of wine, she was initially carded, and all she had was her drivers license from England. They then came to our table and tried to take the glass of wine back because she didn't have her passport.
I then bought four of us a shot of Jack, which we all came to the conclusion tasted like they cut it with water.
What the hell Evviva?
I had the "death by garlic" pasta. It was ok. If you are planning to order it, keep in mind that they literally mean DEATH. My fiance almost died from my breath after eating it. The garlic is so intense that it literally burns your mouth.
Went with another couple, and no one really LOVED their food. We all left thinking "...meh".
Probably will not go back for food. They do have a very nice bar though, and it seems like a nice environment for some drinks!
Get the chrizo burger and the bread pudding! To die for!
This is a great place on the Miracle Mile. Â Great ambience, nice decor, cheap HH drinks, delicious food. Â We ordered the pesto scallops, sauteed mushrooms, bread pudding, and chorizo burger, and the latter was AMAZING, and only $6! Â We went on a weekday, so it was pretty dead... it's a semi-new place, but the server said it gets busy on weekends.
It's sort of tapas style dishes, but some of the items are pretty big. Â We loved it so much, we went back the next week!
Came on a Sunday. Â Place saw pretty dead with most people at the bar watching football. They had an all day happy hour. Â Drafts for $2 and all you can drink mimosas for $10. Â Ordered the Tequila Lime prawn Tacos, Calamari and the Chorizo burger. Â The mimosas were strong but balanced. Â Calamari was in strips with what tasted like a horseradish sauce. Â Pretty good though I prefer it in tubes and tentacles. The burger was a 50/50 chorizo and burger meat blend. Â Pretty good. Â The prawn tacos were the low point of the meal. Â The prawns were small and not seasoned well. Â There was only one toritta per taco and it was old and brittle quickly making a mess. Â
The girl serving us was perfect. Â The mimosas were always replaced before getting low. Â Rather than interrupting our conversation to ask us if we needed anything she was able to accurately judge from out actions when we needed her. Â
Great value. Â Will be coming back.
I was excited to try this place, as Stockton needs more restaurants and lounges like this.  After my visit I left feeling quite on the fence.  It's in a good location (though you wouldn't see it off Pacific unless you were looking).  We didn't have trouble finding parking, but that was because it was a quiet week day night.  The waitress was attentive and very nice.  She had to keep apologizing because every drink we ordered, they were out of something.  What bar runs out of basics?  They didn't even carry the ingredients to make something simple like a chocolate martini.  And they don't yet have a specialty cocktail menu, which should be pretty standard for a place trying to sell itself as a nicer alternative.  The décor was nice (if not a bit Ikea and budget).  And the crowd though small gave off a good vibe.  The menu looked appetizing, I'm excited to go back and really dig in to their food offerings.  Overall, I would go back and give it a second try due to the great service and high potential of this place.  Looking forward to the great happy hour offerings (fantastic deals!) and the pet friendly patio.
Review Source:Food was pretty good. Â Meatballs were really good. Â NOLA shrimp were horrid. Â
Service was a bit slow. Â Should be better considering the place is new and they should try to put their best foot forward.
There were no knives to be found (would have been nice to have on to cut the flatiron steak), there were no spoons and there were no serving utensils. Â Rather odd considering the object is to share the food. Â
Didn't enjoy having to walk through the guantlet of smokers gathered way too close to the front door. Â For the most part the smokers were what might well be called "tools", so shame on me for expecting them to be courteous.
I'm sure I'll back. Â I try to support the business on the Miracle Mile. Â I'm glad to see another eatery on the Mile. Â I just hope the owners tweak the place a bit ensure it doesn't turn into a tool box.
Tried. Â Won't be back. Â Service good, menu poor. Â I get the concept of Tapa's and small plates, but this place doesn't. Â A little effort would have made all the difference to the menu. Â The scallops, serve on a small bed of pasta. Â The steak, a handful of fries, the heirloom salad, maybe some bread. Â Poor set up, felt very empty. Â The only good thing was the service. Â This place won't last long.
Review Source:Around Sep. 23, my wife decided to try Evviva before we left on vacation.
We arrived at ~5:30 for an early dinner, was told to choose a seat. At 6:00 we still had not received a glass of water or menu even though there were two servers and few customers. I'm just not the kind of person that sits a long time for no service. Food may be good, but I'll never know! As we left we saw two other people leaving with the same complaint.
I have been watching for this place to open and finally got to try it last night. It was worth the wait. The interior is upscale modern. I love tapas. We ordered the Chorizio burger that was amazing. The shrimp tacos could have used a little more spice in them maybe some cilantro but they were cooked perfectly. No complaints about the french fries and the flatbread pizza was delicious. Be sure to save room for the bread pudding. I didn't so was only going to have a bite but ended up finishing it it was so good.
We had no problem with service but we went early and only a few diners were there. I'm guessing with a full house there could be some problems. Hope this place makes it. I would like to go back with a large group and try more things on the menu.
What can I say, Tommy and I have been to Spain a couple of times and love the culture and the tapas. Michael did a great job at bringing that feel to Stockton. As soon as we walked in he shook my hand and made me feel like a VIP. I personally like the theme of combining Italian and Spanish traditions - since both are my favorite countries. I asked Michael what EVVIVA meant and he said: "Its not what we say, its not what we do, its how we make you feel when you come in - We make you feel in the moment, almost as if all the problems of the world disappear...it doesn't matter what you did in the past or what you HAVE to do next. When you are in EVVIVA you celebrate." And YES we sure did celebrate! Tommy had the gambas al ajillo, Morgan and Kristie shared the jalapeno lemon clams and I order the scallops and lamb. I think the only thing they are missing is is a Bota or a Porrones that you can drink some beer or wine out of like a champ. Only complaint I have is they ran out of our favorite wine...but I won't doc them for that since they are new. Everytime we go out we are going to VIVA. Thanks for a great experience!
Review Source:By far already one of the best restaurants in Stockton. It's unique tapa style brings something new and fabulous to Stockton for everyone to enjoy. They have a great selection of exotic foods that will satisfy your taste buds. Its a wonderful place to go grab a bite and relax. It features a full bar, patio dining (pet friendly), awesome wine list (wine by the glass and by the bottle), friendly service, and a beautiful ambiance. I would recommend having seared scallops or their death by garlic! (and a treat for your pet)
