Had dinner here a couple of times. Always get a good waiter/waitress. They have a good selection of beers. Even some local microbrews (pretty hip for Fatz). I had a steak that was cooked perfectly; believe it or not getting a steak rare on a busy line is not easy. It's very easy to be doing something else and let a steak overcook. The grilled asparagus was nice. Pair with Highland Gaelic ale. Then their peach cobbler warm with vanilla ice cream. My taste buds wre very happy.
Review Source:I wish they had Fatz back up North.  One of the highlghts of when I was working down south was going here.  the bread was fantastic always served fresh and hot.  the calabash chicken was always  great.  Good food and good friendly quick service. If you find yourself in Franklin NC you cant go wrong with Fatz
Review Source:So weird, sometimes I go and the food is fantastic, and sometimes it's just meh.
The waitstaff does a pretty good job, I just can't rate highly for the inconsistency.
The spinach salad with bacon dressing is pretty awesome, and the rolls are note-worthy.
Update: The owner commented positively on my review so that gets an automatic one star up from me!
The food was good and the bread they give you is amazing.  But don't bother signing up for their loyalty program that is displayed all over the store. On my 40 minute wait I signed up , then received an email for $5 off but  they would not accept it unless it was printed out. I told the waited I didn't have access to a printer that we were renting a cabin but no luck he said a manager would not allow it. I didn't push it because he did a good job and the food was good but they lost a couple stars on something that easily could have made my visit better.
Review Source:I've eaten here twice and have not been thrilled either time.
The first time was with my family.
My wife had the slider burgers; they left much to be desired.
The second time was with a coworker.
I had the philly steak sandwich.
I took the meat and piled it on about 1/3 of the bun to make a real sandwich...
All in all, not anything special.
Food is excellent and the staff *super* friendly. Be sure and try the buttered rolls - excellent.
The sampler platter is great if you want to try a little of everything without committing to any one thing. Thought about an appetizer, but with the amount of food they serve it was *not* necessary.
Extremely friendly staff, the kind that can tell you're from out of town and make sure you feel welcome. Try the Calabash chicken, delectable. Ribs are quite good as well. Can't go wrong here if you like deep fried food and aren't worried about counting calories. A friendly environment for kids as well.
Review Source:if you eat here with any frequency you will die of a heart attack at a young age... I promise. Â However, it does have really good bbq sandwiches in massive portions at a good price. Â Spend the extra money and eat here as opposed to fast food.... you will die early either way, but this way it will at least taste really good.
