i'm going to go out on a limb and call this little dive bar a hidden gem (i'm a little apprehensive about letting people know about my favorite bar on the city's northside because i don't want it to gain in popularity).
i don't know if anything here would blow the average person away, but they do have 1) a good beer selection (mostly in bottles) 2) cheap prices 3) friendly bartenders and clientele and 4) tons of dart boards (bring your own darts). sometimes it's the simple things that can make a place fun.
some info: parking is on street, i don't know if they serve food or not, it's cash only with no atm, and the interior is a little small. off the bat, probably sounds like they don't have much, right? but a typical friday or saturday night here is a lot of fun and will pretty much negate any of that stuff.
and don't let the area scare you. the immediate neighborhood is actually quite nice, you just have to find the right way to get there (avoid butternut street south of grant or just come down through lyncourt).
