The new owners (as of October) have done a wonderful job with the place. We went in on a busy Sunday afternoon and they were slammed! Even with how busy they were, the service was timely and friendly. The salad bar was small but everything was extremely fresh. The gluten free pizza was delicious and the burgers, juicy and flavorful. Â The employees were buzzing around but still took the time to check in on their patrons. Â The homemade desserts were delicious and definitely worth saving room for. All in all it's great to have another option for good food in Tillamook.
Review Source:I give the fern four stars because It's a very nice place to have breakfast and Lunch. Is a very nice size. Also They have a little arcade for the kids. The service was really can't speak fast and we were out in a short period of time. And we were plentiful. There was only one little problem Me and my friends had a steady but it had a lot of fat on it. Also The pizza it isn't the best in the town So is not exactly the best place to go to eat pizza better to eat breakfast.
Review Source:I had  the patty melt and the sweet potato fries. For the love of G-d, do not pass up the sweet potato fries...they are to die for!! The patty melt was beefy, cheesy and satisfying. I had ice tea with lemon to drink...$9.25 for dinner seemed reasonable.
You won't be impressed by the appearnace of tbis restaurant. The decor inside and out is nothing to write home about, but it has a warm friendly feeling. There were a lot of families there, so it seems like a popular place with the locals. My waitress was friendly and efficient.
This is not a fast food restaurant, so there was a bit of a wait, but nothing unreasonable. Good simple food...burgers, sandwiches, chowder, salad bar, pizza.
The vibe was great! Â Lost of old folks talking about their hayday. Â
Run down looking but it's a sad little town. Â
The German sausage was kielbasa, not German sausage so -1 star.
The waitress was great. Â The coffee was great. Â The old folks were great.
The decor was sadly great. Â
The couple nearby with their screaming kid wasn't great, but can't legally kick kids or their retarded parents.
After reading the reviews we were kinda skeptic about coming here but hey it was a 50/50 shot so we said what the hey. Â Not to many people inside and we got to sit where ever we wanted. The waitress was cool and friendly. Got my ice tea right away and she guess right that my husband wanted his milk with the meal. Most waitstaff bring it out early, not thinking. I got the "Hooked something Burger" lol, basically a fish burger and it was quite good. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, with lettuce ,tomato and tartar sauce. Pickles on the side and for a side I ordered the sweet potato fries. Never had them before and I've read about them on Yelp so I thought I would try them. I want more they are yummy... Husband had the "Widowmaker - hell I don't know but it was a patty melt and he really liked it and I could see that it was good and cheezy. His side was potato salad and he said it was really good for restaurant salad. He loves his potato salad so that was a high compliment.
Had a little wait for the tab but all in all it was a good night and we will definately come back next time we are in town.
Flippin' horrible.
Needs a remodel like the world needs to get rid of Heidi Montag.
Food was mediocre.
Service was non-existent.
The waitress knocked my straw out of my drink, getting soda on me. Her reaction was, "Your straw is on the floor."
Really? I watched you kung fu my straw and then you blame me?
And you won't even give me another?
Poo on you!
I just have to say that this place is GREAT!! Â My whole family 4 adults & 3 small kids decided to try the Fern to have breakfast and we were so glad we did. Â First off the Service was great, friendly and on top of whatever we might need. Â The food was amazing, large yummy pancakes, fresh good ol local thick sliced bacon and the chicken fried steak smothered in gravy was to die for. Â My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Â The price was also great. Â For two full breakfast meals with large OJ and a two stack side of pancakes came to around $24.00. Â My daughter, daughter-in-law and 3 grandkids had more than they could eat and their total meal was less than $40.00. Â Not many places where you can get full & have left overs for 5 people for less than $40.00. Â Can't wait to go back. Â Not sure about the review that was negative but when you have an alcohol drink for breakfast, that could be part of the problem. Â I'm just sayin.
Review Source:Do not go here. Â I was camping for my birthday and decided to not cook breakfast one morning - had to head into town anyway to re-stock on ice. Â It should have been a sign to go somewhere else after they were all out of forks and water glasses. Â But I love trying new places! Â Anyway, ordered a Bloody Mary (in honor of my birthday) and found moldy olives in my drink. Â After I had eaten one! Â They were really busy so the service took forever, which I can understand. Â However, this place costs more than Denny's, and I had to sit next to a pile of dead gnats in the windowsill. Â My boyfriends Denver omelet was raw on the inside and apparently "German sausage" equals a fried up hot dog. Â Everybody says that the best place to eat in Tillamook is the cheese factory. Â I was in denial until I tried two different breakfast places! Â I wanted to find a really charming place in Tillamook, instead I ingested moldy olives.
Review Source:Just south of the cheese factory, this is your basic diner food done pretty well. I stopped here with a bunch of friends after camping -- we were tired and starving and their breakfast options (served until 2 p.m., says the menu) definitely hit the spot. Most of us got omelets which were huge, with huge amounts of hash browns, and huge amounts of satiating power.
Service was nice, artwork on wall was full of majestic logging scenes. Go check it out!
This place is no frills dining to be sure, but the food was pretty good. Â We had breakfast here one morning, and everything was pretty decent. Â The staff was pleasant, the food was pretty quick, and the portions were large. Â You won't leave this place feeling hungry. Â The building ain't much to look at, but that isn't much of a turn-off for me. Â It's not a dive by any stretch of the imagination, but it's no 5-star restaurant either. Â If you're looking for a comfortable place to stop in for breakfast, I'd recommend it.
