Festival Eight

Wow , went down to the Polo Fields on October 30th for the start of a three (3) day music festival. All three days were to be filled with music from the group Phish. This was a first for me, but after doing some research I realized it was the Grateful Dead all over again.

If your not a Phish enthusiast you'd still be able to enjoy the scene, there were stores, places to grab a bite, a general store and just a bunch of really happy people. It was a really mellow crowd. That could of been do to the amount of drugs being consumed, or just the music and setting( I'm betting it was the drugs). Plenty of hallucinogenics to assist in getting you in the right state of mind for the festival.

I must admit the music was great, but the light show, and the setting were spectacular. People were just standing for hours on end, dancing and singing with the band. And the crowd was from every corner of America The venue was huge, and it had RV parking, and camp sites available, so you never left the area. My only complaint was that I had to walk about 45 minutes to the venue from the RV campsite. Man it was hot in the day and cold at night. It would of been nirvana had the campsite been closer.

We rented a 40 foot motor home and were fairly comfortable, with all the amenities of a home, so we met a few friends and had a BBQ. It was an enjoyable time. I give Phish four stars for the music and their followers. They really know how to put on a music festival.
