Fia Rua

This place is a diamond in the rough. Being just a few miles off of I-95 and a popular motel exit, Fia Rua has the feel of an authentic Irish pub with a twist of southern comfort.  

The decor is a good replication of Irish pubs with dark wood trim everywhere, a few level changes in the floor plan, and a few nooks and crannies to complete the feel.  

They have all the common Irish beers on tap and they know how to make any "black and ____" very well.  They also have a decent selection of bottled domestic micro and macros, and the selection of Irish whiskeys is pretty good. No scotch in here though.

I went on a Tuesday night and it was kind of dead so I was well taken care of by the bartender, but I can't say how the service is on a busy night.  However, my bar tender Jeanette was awesome and she made my visit that much better.

So, if you're a local or just passing through and want to avoid chain restaurants and bars definitely check this place out.

Great Irish pub with light pub snacks. It's one of those places you want to keep a secret but also want your friends to come.
