First Street is a total mountain bar. They have a great deck with a bar and let you bring your dog. I'm pretty sure you can have your dog inside if it's not a nice day. It's dark with creaky wood floors. I love walking into a mountain bar just like this.
The menu is typical bar food, burgers, fried things, wings....I had the wings, there was way too much sauce, the sauce was good, but I actually had to wipe it off with napkins. The crab cakes are surprisingly good too. For Colorado, they were some of the closest to east coast fried crab cakes I've come across. The burgers are also tasty.
When in Ned, this is a fun place to go, there's really not much to choose from so this is a safe bet you will feel relaxed and leave full.
If I went here during a night out and had some drinks and some food, I'd be satisfied. Â Unfortunately, I went during the day for lunch. Â I ordered the Cheesesteak sandwich. Â It tasted really good. Â The bad part was that it was too small. Â I ate it so quickly and easily, I questioned how much filling was in that sandwich. Â You dont expect to be hungry and want to eat after lunch. Â but that's the way this place left me.
Review Source:Good selection of brews and boozles, better-than-pub-grub vittles.
Packed days and dead days - service is always attentive. When it is packed (during events i.e. Okt'fest, Dead Guy, etc), it can be difficult to make your way about; if you don't stay, try giving the place another chance later.
Nice place to just hang and relax.
Very disappointing food and slow service. People were great, however. Got there on a Saturday around 1:30. No one else being served. Still took half an hour to get a kid's pizza and shrimp enchilada. Pizza was warm and my son loved it. Enchilada was hot but geez, where's the shrimp? Maybe one piece cut into tiny pieces. One more shrimp and cut 15 minutes off the wait and we could've gone for 4 stars. Maybe next time...
Review Source:Who would have guessed that, while camping in the Colorado wilderness, my boyfriend and I would stumble upon one of the best little dives West of the Mississippi?
Beyond boasting some of the country's most stunning scenery, Nederland offers some great and quirky places to the visiting masses. Our favorite is First Street Pub & Grill.
While the atmosphere is totally chill and appropriate for a fairly no-nonsense, put-your-hiking-boots-up-and-take-a-load-off part of the country, the food is as artful, creative, and thoughtfully crafted as you would expect in a higher-end gastropub in any metropolis. My beloved and I even ordered "take-out" after enjoying our first meal there so we could have leftovers...warmed over our campfire, of course.
If you're a wheat beer person, I'd happily treat you to (and join you in enjoying) a First Street Wheat. You'd just have to take me with you the next time you stop by First Street!! Â =)
