Service was great. Drunken grouper sauce was delicious but the fish itself was not the freshest compared to places I've been on the gulf coast. For the price, not worth it. Calamari was over-battered. Mahi mahi was average. Overall, just average and not worth the price they charge for the food.
Review Source:Management is terrible! If you do not have to deal with them you will be ok! Got my food after two people in our party were done eating, when I asked the manager to comp my meal he copped an attitude!! The food itself was good and service by Danny our waiter was Outstanding! Watch out for the manager in the NY Yankee's T-shirt though!
Review Source:Must get the tuna spring rolls! Â I was pleasently suprised by this place! Â The food was awesome, good service, good atmosphere. Â It's a little out of the way if you are just visiting, but we were getting a flat tire fixed and it was right down the street and the reccomended we check it out, and im so glad we did!
Will def be goin back!
Fishale's - a 1-year old taphouse that is still trying to find its feet. Â I see great potential here. Â They offer good food and an impressive selection of beer, and with a little more focus on service and a tightening up of the menu, this place can be spectacular.
Each time I have visited Fishale's, I was served by a waiter or waitress on their first day on the job. Â I do wonder what is causing such a turn-around with their staff - perhaps it's a consequence of operating in a tourist location where the number of guests fluctuate by season? Â I don't know, but this place needs better stability. Â I will give credit to the manager (owner?), he has stopped by our table on each of our visits to check on us.
Anyways, the food! Â On each of our visits we've eaten different menu items. Â I can summarize it thusly - the beer-cheese is a must, whether with a large pretzel, as a dip for your french fries or on a burger. Â If you can afford to spend a little bit more and your appetite can handle it, the Meatanator (an 8 oz burger with shaved sirloin, bacon, and beer-cheese) is impressive. Â
As I alluded to earlier, the menu needs to get tightened up a bit. Â I mean, it offers wings, burgers, steaks, pastas, flatbreads, seafood, sausages, wraps, sandwiches, tacos, po' boys, soups, salads, hummus, etc. - I understand the desire to give a variety of options to appease everyone's palate, but there is a lack of focus here like too many hands in the pot.
All in all though, Fishale's is a good place to enjoy a couple of quality beers. Â The atmosphere is very clean yet warm and welcoming. Â I give Fishale's 3-stars for "A-OK", but let me tell you this is a very strong 3-stars - it is very close to achieving a 4-star rating in my book.
What can you say about a place that has 60 beers on tap? Â The beer selection is great and the food is good. Â The bartenders are attentive and ready to let you taste the beer before you order it. Â I love Andy Gator and this is one of the few local places that has Andy Gator. Â Fishale is a great place to go after a long week to enjoy the great selection of beers.
Review Source:The serve we had was horrible. Her name was Mandy. She threw the menus on the table. Took 15 minutes to get drinks and when the food came out she had her fingers touching my fish. When we asked for extra tarter sauce she made seen like we were asking for her to pay for our meal. Rude looks and we never ended up getting our tarter sauce. Avoid this server.
Review Source:Beer, Beer and more Beer! 60 Kegs on tap with everything from the Bud light to Sweet Water even Local brew Pensacola bay Brewery beers!
Beer tasting on Tuesdays for $6 at 6 pm. (Tasty Tuesday) and live music!
I've heard a lot of people bashing the food here but depending on what you get its not that bad. The Crab Cake Tacos are pretty amazing and the Mushroom Swiss burger is right on point! The chips i didn't care for and I've also had some of the dips that went very impressive either.
I know the bar area is pretty big and the bartenders serve all the beer for the entire restaurant but they really need a third person behind the bar or someone thats dedicated to serving just the bar customers. If I'm stopping here after a long day of work I want to take a load off and enjoy a nice cold beer without running dry or having to try and flag someone down for service, and if its not to much to ask someone that has time to acknowledge that Im there, maybe even tell me a joke!!!
Other than that Im glad this place is here and I hope that they do well. I will continue to come here simply for the Beer selection and Burgers!
This place has an excellent beer selection and the food we ordered was all delicious as well! I recommend the crab cake tacos as an entree. There are 65 beers on tap, and there's the option to get a small sample of 4 beers for 8.50 or 10.50, depending on the gravity reading. This is my first time in Panama City Beach, but if I'm down here again I will definitely be making the trip to Fishale again! Mike the bartender was very nice and knowledgeable about all the beers, making good suggestions for both my boyfriend and myself. There's a very diverse selection of styles of beers, as well as about ten high gravity beers.
Review Source:Normally a 3 star visit, however I can see they are making an effort to move in the right direction based on other reviews and they have an amazing beer selection. Service was friendly, restaurant was clean (including bathrooms), Â Live music was really good. Â I ordered house made chips and queso which were really good and the Tuna for entree which was also good. look forward to visiting again to sample more beers and food.
Review Source:I echo what several reviews stated about this place working out some of the kinks. Our server was really pleasant and put forth a great deal of effort. She didn't know very much about beer, which was fine, because she admitted it upfront.
My husband declined the starch option and requested just a salad and vegetable. We paid the extra $2.50 for the salad, but still paid full price for the entree even though he passed on the potatoes or rice. His salad (or our friend's soup) didn't arrive before the entrees. Rather, we had to ask for it after the main dishes were dropped off. The server gave a sincere apology and given her overall attentiveness, we were willing to let it go. I had the drunken grouper which was tasty and cooked perfectly.
The atmosphere was super mellow; there was live music that served as a great background.
I look forward to returning soon and trying some other things on the menu. We plan on sitting at the bar next time which looked really comfortable and inviting.
We stumbled on this place on a Saturday night and sat at the bar.
They have a good happy hour - $1 domestic drafts (Bud Light, Miller Lite, Yeungling) and I think she said all apps were $5. Other beers might have been $1 off?
I got the chicken alfredo, which was decently flavored, although with too much sauce. The little garlic breads were good and the side salad (extra $$) was fresh.
My boyfriend had the "Towering Burger", which wasn't towering at all, and he said it was the worst burger he'd ever had. It definitely looked like it came from a box - it didn't look very appetizing at all.
A friend had the Ahi Tuna, and the Hummus appetizer. The app comes with homemade potato chips, which were fantastic.
Great selection of beers, and the bar staff were very knowledgeable about them, but a bit of a mixed bag on the food.
Excellent atmosphere/vibe - cool lighting, decor and seating options.  Great selection of craft beers on tap - I tried a couple of samples and then the bartender gave me a couple of additional recommendations based on what I liked  That would have been enough but the food was good too.  Best was the homemade potato chips with beer & blue cheese dip.  Sandwiches, fries and onion rings were all good.  I'll definitely be back.
Review Source:They are still working out the kinks and finding themselves, but I feel very good about Fishale's long term prospects and will definitely be returning.
Fishale's chief selling point and main attraction is the vast array of beers on tap that they offer. During my visit I was told they had around 40 beers on tap with space and plans for around 60 beers when all is said and done. Beer selection ranges from basic domestic selections like Budweiser (available in bottles) up to many craft and microbrew selections.
The beer I had was perfectly served and tasty. The beer menu was nicely divided between styles and succeeded in making me want to come back and try some of the others. Beer prices are what you would expect for microbrews, let's say, as a baseline, about $4-5 a pint.
The restaurant's decor is simply awesome. I really love the vibe at Fishale. For dinner the lights are dimmed and contemporary music is piped at an appropriate volume (not too loud) over the speakers. The dining room is wide open and modern, and there is a fireplace with a sofa and some chairs situated at one end of the room.
There is also a traditional bar area, and in addition to beer Fishale appears to have a decent selection of wines and liquors.
The majority of the menu items were basic pub foods (beer pretzels, hot wings, philly cheese steaks, and poboys) with a few higher end seafood items and meat dishes thrown in. I feel like the menu lacks focus, and, as others have said, probably needs more seafood items given the restaurant's name and location.
We had the beer pretzel for an appetizer, which was served piping hot and tasty, with a side of cheese. It was great for pub fare, but not really much different from the pretzels you can get at your local snack bar.
For my entree I ordered the fish and chips, which was one of the few seafood-themed dishes on the menu and also one of the most affordable entrees.
I really enjoyed the fish. I'm not sure if it was locally caught or not, but it was nicely breaded, tender, and much better than fish and chips I've had elsewhere in Bay County.
The fries were decent, but nothing really impressive or memorable.
I really want to see Fishale prosper, because its the sort of place I'd like to take a group of friends on a Friday night for some decent food and great beer choices.
Made it to the New Fishale Tap house, was drawn here by tales of great ale and cold beer.
I ordered the fish and chips basket, bummed it wasn't an entree but glad after I sampled what was brought to me. The fish was talapia. It was not beer battered as advertised but was a spicy cracker breading. Â The "chips" were bland.
My guest had the lump crab cake entree, not a single lump was found in either of the greasy overly breaded cakes, at least the ale was cold.
Might be good for a burger and a pint but, with a name like Fishale, I would have liked to see more fish dishes on the menu, considering how many other seafood restaurants are on the beach.
I stopped by with friends on the opening weekend to check this place out. Â I was excited about the large beer selection and I was not disappointed. Â Lots of great beers here, and the prices are on par with what you would expect to pay for craft beer.
The waitress was a bit chatty, but that really didn't bother me since I knew she just had opening jitters and was excited about working there. Â Service was decent overall.
I was not impressed with the food. Â I got a cheese steak and it was decent, but it seemed like there was way more bread than meat and veggies. Â My wife's seared tuna sandwich was on the dry side, admittedly because she didn't want the wasabi mayo, but it also suffered from the over sized bun syndrome. Â The other member of our party got the fish and chips and said it was decent, but nothing to write home about.
Overall, I had a good time: The beer was great, service was ok, and the food was a bit lacking. Â I guess in my mind the beer made up for the other shortcomings. Â Can you tell I enjoy beer? Â With a few menu tweaks this place could be awesome.
Bottom line: If you like craft beers on draft then this is the place to be in PCB.
Our new tap.house is a much welcome and much needed addition to Panama City Beach. I made it my business to be their very first customer, and what a good customer I am!
The beer selection is outstanding and will continue to grow. The food is very, very good. Service: excellent - the best service on the beach!!!!
The inside is very comfortable - perfect for friends to meet and to meet new friends
.
This is one place you do not want to miss when you come to PCB.
For the locals - this is the place to go for good beer and good, reasonably priced, quality food.
