My husband wanted to go out to eat so I told him to find a Groupon since we're trying to save some money. He found this place so we bought the groupon and off we went. I remember the food was pretty good. It was very unique food which is what will make this place warrant another visit. The service was superb. We went during a normal dinner shift, so we'll have to go back to try brunch some time. I would recomment this place.

So me and La Chica were feeling food frisky and decided a second visit to Flight needed to be booked.  We were surpised to find a whole new menu, which we later learned is the "summer menu."  This one had some of the same appetizers from out previous visit, but the main courses, or "flights," were all new.  These flights are based on regions, and very well put together.  I went with the Southern flight, which includes app, salad and main course.  The app would have been Andouille sausage soup, but they were out, so they graciously subbed it out for the Korean BBQ beef tacos, which were excellent.  Then, they brought out the fried brussel sprouts Caesar salad with homemade Caesar dressing.  The fried sprouts replaced traditional croutons--what a wonderful salad! And then the main course came.  This had to have been one of the more unique flavor combos I've ever had in my life; deliciously fried chicken topped with a corn, pepper, bleu cheese mixture and drizzled with jalapeño maple syrup.  Well played, Flight!  La Chica ordered the Caribbean flight, which was also very good, but I'll let her expand on that in her forthcoming update.

Flight has elevated to 10,000 feet on my favorites list for sure!

Very cute place! It's artsy and out of this world. The menu is a bit different serving food influenced from all over the world. I tried the shrimp n grits, their specialty fries and the Bloody Mary bar.

I was pleased and also love the plating for each meal. It makes it super easy to share if you're willing. I love the flavor of everything served and the fries are pretty bomb! It's actually REALLY good, dusted in cheesy goodness.

Great place to try if you're adventurous.

I came here a few weeks ago for their Sunday brunch. We had a groupon for 4 people for $28, which covers one brunch entree and a Bloody Mary. This has got to be one of the best deals out there. The food here was fantastic - with or without the groupon I would come here and say its well worth the price.

I had the eggs benedict, which is no ordinary eggs Benedict. It is on Cuban bread with pulled pork. It was a fried egg rather than a poached egg, but no matter. The bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with a nice buttery taste. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. Put it all together with some of their green sauce (can't remember what it was called) and it was heavenly!

My friend had the southern country fried steak and biscuit. This was also absolutely fantastic. The biscuits were perfect - light and buttery, while the fried steak was flavorful and crunchy. Smother that baby in gravy and put it in my mouth please and thank you!

The Bloody Mary bar is the real star here with an option of regular vodka or jalapeño infused vodka. The bar has a wide variety of options including fresh jalepenos, cucumbers, horseradish, slim jims, salami, cheese, and pickles. The tomato juice mix for the Bloody Mary is good in and of itself, but add some of these stellar ingredients and you've gone from good to great!

I'm excited to return to this restaurant and try out some of their other brunch options!! Also this great brunch experience makes me curious about what they might serve for their dinner menu.

Went on Sunday for brunch using a Groupon. The Bloody Mary Bar was awesome. We really liked making our own and the fixins were pretty good. Only thing, wish they had some decent sized olives with blue cheese.  I had a "you pick it" omelette which was good, and my friend ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which she really enjoyed. I noticed most of the customers seemed to be getting Shrimp & Grits so that must be their "thing."  I have to say the service was just eh, as some others have said. The server was nice enough, but you could see there were a couple tables that looked annoyed they were waiting for their checks or to order. We ordered a cupcake dessert which was tasty but too small to share (we shared it!). The cupcake was one of those mini sized, with a scoop of ice cream next to it, a little chocolate drizzle and a dab of whipped cream. Wish I had taken a pic of it to post here as the presentation was nice. Only critique is for $6 I am expecting a full sized cupcake, not a mini kid sized thing.  The decor is weird, not sure what it wants to be. The bar does look like an airport bar, but the rest of it, not so much.
Overall it was a decent dining experience, although I will wait for another Groupon before I come back to try the dinner menu.

Started to give two stars, but the service was good, so I gave it three. This place has a lot of potential, but falls short of the mark. It was just, "meh".

The only reason I found this restaurant was due to a Living Social voucher I had gotten at a steeply discounted price. Honestly, the meal was only worth about what I paid for the voucher ($10) plus the tip ($6) and nothing more. The whole place is in an airplane theme, with some really cute touches. Lots of decor and things, from the restroom sign, to the ceiling lights, and the waiting area. All really cool. But the food was really blah.

We visited for brunch on a Sunday at 2pm. Their brunch runs until 3pm, so I made a reservation online, which upon walking into the restaurant I realized the reservation wasn't needed. They actually didn't even ask my name to look up the reservation when I told them I had one. There were a few other parties in the place, but it was mostly empty. We ordered the Southern Breakfast and the Cheesesteak Scramble. The Southern Breakfast came with homefries, and was two biscuits, country fried steak, and sausage gravy. Very interesting flavor, it was almost sweet. Nothing really spectacular, just above edible. The Cheesesteak Scramble was described as strip steak, onions, peppers, two eggs, and hash, topped with Cheese Wiz. Yeah, CHEESE WIZ. O_o  I opted to replace that with plain old swiss cheese. Mine was pretty good, once I pulled off the things they called eggs on top. I wish it were scrambled hence being called a "scramble".

The bloody mary bar was impressive. Not great presentation, but they had everything under the sun available. I'm not a fan, so my man enjoyed both of ours. I asked for a mimosa, and it took a bit to get so the server comped it to me without me even complaining or asking.

I am really curious if this place is hopping on a Friday or Saturday night being so close to Cigar City Brewery, and having a "bar" feel. The bar area was pretty neat looking. I would also like to check out the live music acts they have on occasion. I would not go back for the food, but some of their happy hour drink choices looked great if I were already in the area.

    **REVIEW FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH ONLY**

Let me start off by saying that the Bloody Mary bar at this place is insane! You have the choice of regular vodka or jalapeno and lime infused vodka (obviously I chose the jalapeno-lime vodka). The server will give you a glass filled with ice and the vodka, and then you can take your glass up to the Bloody Mary bar to create your own monstrosity. They have a pre-made Bloody Mary mix that you can use as your base, and then a million toppings to add to season to your desire, including Worcestershire sauce, Sriacha, tabasco sauce, vinegar, pepperoni, pepperoncinis, SLIM JIMS, jalapenos, colby cheese, pepperjack cheese, horseradish, carrots, celery, regular olives, stuffed olives, cucumbers, lemons, limes, etc. etc. etc.! I took full advantage of this bar and put tons of sauces, meat, veggies and cheese in my Bloody Mary and it was probably one of the best Bloody Marys I've had.

For my meal, I had the Southern Breakfast -- 2 breakfast sandwiches consisting of country fried steak on patties of delicious, soft, melt-in-your-mouth biscuits with sausage gravy. OMG. I seriously had a mouth-gasm after eating this. It was SOOOOO GOOD! Heaven in a little breakfast sandwich. Side of hash browns were tasty, as well.

My friends had the Latin Eggs Benedict, which was pretty amazing, as well -- lots of interesting flavors (pulled pork with chimichurri sauce).

Creative brunch menu -- a bit small but very interesting choices. Definitely want to come back for ther dinner menu -- they have bacon mac balls, korean BBQ tacos and BBQ pork sliders!! O_O

I heard a buddy of mine opened up a place pretty darn far from my stomping grounds, so I had to plan a drive out long after it had been opened. Totally worth it. I'd have to say the wine flights were my fave for being reasonably priced, and sized larger than most regular flights. Just sorry we missed the music, can't wait to head back soon and try a ton more of the diverse items on the menu. Thought the food was great, but did I mention the wine flights?

I checked this place out for the first time after purchasing a brunch with a bloody mary Groupon (Yes please!).  I was a bit unsure of what to expect as I had never heard of Flight.  Flight definitely exceeded my expectations.

First of all - the bloody mary bar.  They bring you a glass of regular or jalapeno infused (WHAT!?) vodka.  You then get to totally mix your own bloody mary.  I went for bloody mary mix, horseradish, sriracha, and celery.  They also had little skewers with cheese and meats and even a tin full of slim jims.  Very unique bloody mary bar!

Onto the food, some other people at the table ordered the Latin Eggs Benedict, which was fantastic.  I had the Florentine Omelette, which was also very good, but I wished I had gotten the Benedict.

My food took quite some time longer than the rest of the table and the manager came up and offered to comp my meal and a round of drinks.  Although I didn't need my meal comped as I had a Groupon, he comped a round of drinks for 3 of us at the table.  In my opinion, it is all in how you handle situations and Flight handled this situation in an awesome manner.

Although there brunch menu is fairly small, I definitely want to come back for dinner.

Best bloody mary bar I have seen with tons of fun toppings! Super cheap mimosa's (the menu says $5 but really they were $3.25). I ordered the Latin Eggs Benedict, pulled pork, egg, with toasted Cuban bread and potatoes. The flavors were amazing and I definitely cleaned my plate! The restaurant is super cute and modern and has a set up for live music. It looks like they have tons of great weekly drink specials and I would love to come back to try dinner. In addition to the food the service was fantastic!

I really enjoyed the theme of this restaurant.

I went here for brunch with some friends and we weren't disappointed. As you can tell from the name, the restaurant has a "flight" theme. There are propellers all over the place, the restrooms look like restrooms in an airport and on the ceiling, there is even a plane made out of lights! The best part of the decor was the clocks they had by the kitchen. It had the current time, London, Tokyo, and then a clock that said Somewhere and it was stuck at 5:00. It made me laugh:-)

They had great special on Bloody Marys and Mimosas. When you order a Bloody Mary, they basically put vodka in the glass and you make it entirely yourself at the Bloody Mary bar. I really enjoyed the fact that you can make your drinks exactly the way you wanted it. They had a ton of fixins' and all the spices you could ever dream of to make your drink perfect! The mimosas were only about $3.45.

While we are on the note of prices, the prices were something that my friends and I couldn't understand. They were weird like, $3.23, $8.45 etc... At first we thought maybe they were flight times, then we thought, maybe they were types of airplanes, turns out it all has to do with Michael Jordan lol. The owner really likes Michael Jordan and every price has to do with something about his life.  This is a completely random fact about the place but I really appreciate the fact that the owner opened this place, loves Michael Jordan and thought " my place, my rules" and has a little tribute to his hero. Good for you man, good for you.

I ordered just the scrambled eggs and bacon and I enjoyed my meal. My friend's meal still wasn't out 10 minutes after ours had come out and the manager came over and comped her next drink and apologized. Let me just say I really appreciated this. That's the way you get return customers!

We came for brunch after being drawn in via a Groupon.  We were excited to have a new local brunch option for our Sundays and Flight definitely lived up to our expectations.  Of the four of us, two ordered biscuits and gravy, one ordered shrimp and grits and the last ordered the Cuban eggs benedict.  Each was nicely plated and tasted DELICIOUS!  The shrimp was cooked perfectly with the perfect portion of cheese in the coarse ground grits.  The sausage gravy was very tasty and the biscuits were good too!  They ran out of Cuban bread for the eggs benedict, but they went and bought some.  The bloody mary bar topped off our experience.  The house infused vodka (infused with jalapeños) was fantastic and we had a blast creating our own version of the drink.

Overall, we will certainly return, if only for brunch.  We may also try it for dinner and drinks sometime as well.  The decor is interesting but different.

Despite an issue with the Groupon that was the only reason I would have ever found this "hidden" restaurant, the food was just... OK, to meh...
BBQ Pork Sliders, (sounded amazing) were lacking seasoning/flavor, had to ask for additional BBQ sauce (which was just OK) to make them easier to eat. Korean BBQ Tacos, SO little filling, average flavor, nothing special. German Bratwurst (with horseradish spaetzle, red cabbage) VERY YUMMY... table favorite! Cuban Panini, very flavorful, 2nd Favorite. Edamame Hummus, needed additional seasoning, a little salt, maybe a little acidity... great idea, poorly executed. BEAUTIFUL decor, unique, COULD be great, loved the live music. Doubting we will ever return.

Visited this place a couple weeks ago and forgot to write a review. I like the decor, even the can lights in the ceiling were in an airplane shape. Staff was very nice. I was a bit worried as there was only one other couple in there but we sat down anyway.

The food is all tapas style and generous compared to other tapas style places in tampa(i personally want a true spanish style tapas bar like in barcelona but that will never happen haha).

Food was great. One of the few times where i really liked all the dishes. A good mixture of flavors and some not so traditional but well thought out combinations.

I had no drinks so I cant comment there...other than the water was wet?

My only complaints, and they are petty, are that the menus were basically xerox sheets of paper and some had little stains. I would at least put them in a hard sleeve and make the sleeve look like an airline magazine or emergency exit guide pamphlet.

Heading there again tonight. Hopefully its just as nice.

A couple weekends ago my girls and I went here for my girl Veronica's birthday. We started at Grill One Sixteen which is in the same plaza. This was our first time and let me tell you it is not our last. It's a classy little place. When we were there they had live music. It was good live music too. They have a decent menu of some unique food. Also they have this drink special called the flight and it is three small glasses of wine of your choice for only $4.00, you can't beat that.
So if your looking for a place to just chill and hang out this is the place you need to check out.

I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed. I was really looking forward to checking out this new place since it's so close to my house, but it kinda let me down. We went on Wednesday night, but it was pretty busy and there was only 1 server and her 1 trainee. There was 1 guy that was playing host/food runner/bartender, but nobody really took the reigns on any of it.
The food was okay.  They had a good draft beer selection, and my husband enjoyed his "flight" of beer tastings.  We ordered 3 small plates to share, but they all came out separately.  We waited at least 20 mins for the first plate to arrive.  It was the BBQ sliders with mac-n-cheese and an onion ring inside. A-ma-zing.  Had we stopped there, I would've given this place four stars.  Unfortunately, it went down hill from there.
After waiting about another 15 minutes, they brought us our Cuban panini. It was okay, but they put sauce on top of it, so it was a mess to eat, and really no better than the average Cuban.  Yummy, but not awesome.  Last, was the Korean BBQ Tacos with "kimchee-inspired slaw." I was most excited about this dish as it sounded awesome on the menu, but was very disappointed.  The steak was so overcooked and chewy that it ruined the whole dish.  I enjoyed the flavors, but there was just meat juice dripping from each taco, and my husband thought they were gross.
The server did apologize for the slow service, wish does help in my book, but it was too little, too late.
There was also a  girl there singing live Jazz Music but it was way too loud for such a small place.
Maybe this place is still working out the kinks. I will try it again, I hate to give up after only giving them one shot.  I hope they prove this review wrong!

I would have to agree with the " cheesy" FLIGHT Theme!   If I were working there, I would not be very keen on wearing those uniforms. I have worked in the restaurant business for 20 years,  the concept is not appropriate for a restaurant and should stay at the airports!    I think the restaurant has a very nice modern atmosphere and the flight theme should disappear!

The food was excellent .  Tapas style, so don't go there if you are looking for full course dinner entrees.  I was with a group that was celebrating a birthday.  We tried over 1/2 the menu, and every single one was delicious!    I would recommend and go back!

Okay first let me start by saying, I am always thankful for independent restaurant/ bar owners who open up new venues in my neighborhood. And this place has been open only 1 week so they certainly deserve another visit to see if I would bump them up to a 4.

The atmosphere of this place kind of put me off a little. It is like they are trying a little too hard to be hip or something. For instance, the front windows list in big shiny letters all of the things they aspire to be like "artsy" or "International" I think those descriptions are better left to the patrons if they feel they apply.

Then when you walk in they took the whole "flight" theme a little too far. The hostess says welcome your flight is departing  and some other airline lingo or something like that. And the wait staff is forced to wear shirts that look like pilot uniforms. That is really a little goofy. I mean I thought the days of the theme restaurant went out with Fosters of Hollywood and Rainforest cafe.

That being said, the rest of the atmosphere was somewhat tasteful and they played decent music. The food was served tapas style with small portions for sampling. My wife and I got the goat cheese balls. they were decent, but they tasted like they might have been frozen. They did not compare to a similar dish they serve downtown at FLY bar.

We also had the Jerk chicken sliders. these were very tasty spicy jerked chicken topped with pineapple and slaw on a slider role. I would eat another one right now if I had one. VERY TASTY!

We each had a flight of 3 different wine tastings and they were all nice wines. There was a ton of other food on the menu that looked interesting and I would love to try something different next time.

The staff was courteous and efficient.

This restaurant was OK on its first week of business I hope to see it continue to improve and become a great neighborhood mainstay.
