Floyd's burgers are nothing short of amazing, as are the fries and shakes. Â Apart from the great customer service in the restaurant, they're more than willing to take a phone order and have it ready for pickup...a great way to get a road meal on the way out of McCloud. Â Also note, Floyd's is a serious motorhead mecca. Â Hot rods, Harleys, Vipers, Porsches etc. are often found in the lot and there's a huge stack of car magazines inside to leaf through while you enjoy your burger. Â Ask Floyd about his machines...you'll get a great car conversation!
Review Source:Best burgers I've EVER had! My taste buds crave Floyd's burgers every time I go to Shasta and McCloud! I've had burgers all over the world, and none have tasted anywhere as good as these. The Logger burger is my favorite. You would think of it as unappealing, but 2 'actually-well-cooked' patties, fresh veggies, and soft buns is the greatest!
The malts are also really tasty! I love this place!
It is what it is: fast food made the way it was before big McChains got in on it. Mostly fried food in a somewhat rundown setting. Everything tasted good, but things usually do taste good when they're deep fried. If you sit at the plastic tables outside, you're right on the road, but you have a nice view of the peak of Mt. Shasta just to the north.
Review Source:If your eating here stick to the burgers and ice cream treats!!!
Do not get the fish and chips if you are capable of making your own. Chances are your gonna find that you prefer your recipe and that the fish and chips here at Floyds are just not satisfying. In anyway. Or at least thats what my friend said. She was disappointed with her F&C & how much she spent on them. Too much! She did like her shake however.
I got a cheeseburger and milkshake. I loved it. Worth every penny. About $25 for the both of us. The Fish and chips is really what set us back.
Also the building that the restaurant is in is also a gym, a pet hospital and I want to say a place to file income taxes. lol All in all I enjoyed my time here and will def be back.
I had an excellent, repeat, excellent cheeseburger here, so good that it could completely justify there five stars. No joking, it really was one of the best cheeseburgers that I've ever had. To be clear, I ordered just a regular plain old cheeseburger, they do have specials but I really don't think you'll need to look farther than the standard fare to be satisfied. The onion rings are also pretty good and come with enough to share. The real treat is, of course, the frosties but I figure that is obvious seeing as they put it on the sign and all. The short of it is that Floyd's should be a required stop for anyone going to or through McCloud, even if you are just getting a cold treat.
Review Source:Road trips can be fun, especially when you discover out of the way places. Â And if you drive the same route every year, there are certain stops along the way that become family favorites. Â
On our trip back from Tahoe to Portland, we made a return visit to Floyd's Frosty because (1) my husband fondly remembered it from prior trips, (2) they claim to have the 'best burgers in Siskiyou County', and (3) ice cream treats galore for the kids - bribery is everything on a LONG trip.
The burgers are good, but I had In-n-Out on this trip, so everything is going to pale by comparison. Â Almost everything on the menu is fried and the only salad is macaroni and it was delicious. Â Service was small town friendly, but slow.
This place is completely bare bones and while it isn't modern or fancy it has a certain small town magic to it. Â There are a few booths inside and tables under an awning out front. Â The magazine rack is filled with Road and Track, Hot Rod and Muscle Car and the walls are covered with photos of classic cars and the TV is tuned to auto races. Â
Lots of delicious ice cream treats including blackberry milkshakes, soft serve cones and a freezer filled with specialty ice cream treats. Â Aside from one of the ugliest bathrooms I've seen in a long while, this place was a great stop on a hot day.
for lunch before our hike up to basecamp on mt shasta, we stopped off at floyd's as it's next to the ranger station where we purchased our wilderness permits. this is the home of the one and only "logger burger" where you actually eat deforestation on a bun. eating a bacon cheeseburger from here wasn't the wisest thing for me to do to stay away from needing a wag bag at basecamp, but it beat eating granola constantly. my main recommendation is to not burn the burgers. this place is a definite must-visit if you're a harley afficionado (which i am not) or a logger (as most everyone there seemed to be).
