My husband and I have enjoyed - thoroughly - two meals here (months apart).  The first experience was so good (except we did wait a few minutes to be served - but, we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the bar).  In fact, we ate in the back of the bar and loved the tasty pasta and the melt-in-your-mouth steak covered in buttery mushrooms.  The first trip happened to be my husband's birthday - they treated him to a special dessert - delicious!  Went back again just a few days ago.  We took our favorite seats at the back of the bar and were immediately waited on!  My hubby had more pasta and I had steak and lobster (also had salad, buttered mushrooms, baked sweet potato and a yummy turtle cheesecake dessert.  So much food (again), we enjoyed our "left-overs" the next night.  We will be going back!!!

I've tried and tried to give this place a chance.  As of my last visit, I will not return.

I went to Fontana's recently with my girlfriend and another couple.  We were provided drinks but our waitress disappeared when it came time to order dinner.  We clearly got the attention of some other servers who ignored us.  We finally went to find her and practically dragged her back to the table to take our orders!  The Italian entrees were clearly sub-standard - thick, tough raviolis and gnocchis with a mediocre red sauce.  This type of service and food has been the norm for this place on most of my visits.

I never root against local, small businesses, but in this case I wouldn't miss them if they closed their doors...

    Great food; service lacking.

Short Story: the food was tasty, and the service was mediocre.

We were seated immediately, but had to wait about 10 minutes before a server showed up; this was especially uncomfortable given lunch time, as we really needed back at work. One of us ordered a chicken wrap with no mayo, then received a chicken burger, which had to be sent back; in its place we received a chicken wrap WITH mayo, which had to be sent back (we never send food back, but mayo is not really something you can scrape out of a wrap). I'd like to point out that the server was apologetic and did his best to accommodate us.

My burger was tasty, but a little small for the price. The wrap was delicious (eventually). I'm sure this wasn't their best day, but not worth another try.

    Burger - Fair!
    Fries - O.k.
    Iced Tea - Nasty.

    Coming back? Never.

Fontanas is probably my favorite 'supper club' in the area. At least they try and present their food in an appetizing manner ... which is not the case at similar establishments.  The steaks are decent, the pasta is pretty good and they offer a light menu which really is a good amount of food for a good price. I would recommend fontanas if you are looking for the supper club experience.

My nephew wanted to treat the family to dinner. The 'family' included two children, ages 4 and 6. When we entered the restaurant, which is like entering a dark cave, we were told there would be a "short wait." We sat at the bar and waited. The children were very well-behaved. An hour passed. We waited. After waiting TWO hours we were finally seated and as we left the bar the bar patrons APPLAUDED! Once seated at the table we waited and waited for our salads. When the salads arrived they were small uninspired iceberg lettuce salads. The scallops I ordered were disgusting and had to be sent back. The hour was now 10:30 pm and the children were just being served their food. The food was mediocre at best. When I reported this experience to local residents they were not surprised and said, the Fontana staff always makes patrons wait at the bar because that's where they make the money . . . on bar drinks. Bottom line: it was a mistake to go there and we will NEVER go there again. MAJOR MISTAKE.

The food is decent, service friendly. The filet mignon was excellent. I had the combination, 6 oz filet with an Italian entree and it was too much. You can get most of the Italian entrees as a side anyway for a lot less money.

Love this place! From the service with a smile to the generously cut steaks, just thinking of this place causes salivation. Its a very nice dining room as well. I recommend that you sit at the bar and have your drinks and order. What happens is.. "this is so cool", what happens is... when your food is ready they come and get you and bring you into the dining room with your food spread out on the table before you. Its so cool. Very nice, your eyes sorta do the twirl thing that the cartoons do. Try the french onion soup. Yummie!
