Really good chicken fried steak! Haven't had anything bad here. Yummy!

Took a trip to this small town to visit family. There are only a handful of restaurants so we randomly chose this spot.

I got the country fried steak special for $7.50 (or was it $7.95?). It came with 3 sides and a biscuit, I chose corn, green beans and mashed potatoes... all were pretty good and the CFS was good too. I liked that it did not have too much extra batter.  My BF got the omelet which I was not a fan off, the egg was too thin and runny. I didn't think the service was as slow as other reviewers mentioned.

I really hate to give a small town, privately owned restaurant a poor review but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. And besides, I rely on yelp for objective, honest reviews so I feel compelled to provide the same.

This is a quaint place. Charming atmosphere. You feel right at home.

The service is weak. I would have said overwhelmed (which is probably a large basis for the problem we faced) but that went out the door when we started asking questions. We asked what the "Hot cheeseburger" was and she said "I think it has, like, jalapeños or something." That might have been an acceptable answer but then she said "I only started working here two months ago." Honey, if you've been there two whole months, you ought to know what the freaking Hot Cheeseburger is. Then she refilled our unsweet tea with sweet tea.

We ordered the Gusher Burger which was defined as two patties with molten cheese melted in between the patties. They came out and it looked a lot like one decent sized patty with cheese on top. Maybe there was cheese in the patty but I would have needed a forensics kit to know for sure. My cheeseburger came with exactly 13 french fries. The burger was decent but nothing special and damn sure not worth $9!!!

Here's the rub - from the time we ordered (cheeseburgers mind you) until the time we got our food - 45 minutes. Absolutely no way your going to make it if it takes you 45 minutes to get a cheeseburger out at lunchtime! Sorry.

Maybe I'm trying to offer an intervention rather than a review. I want you guys to make it but if you cant handle a large lunch crowd in a timely fashion, you're in serious trouble.

If I were in Gladewater, I'd stop in but I wouldn't make a special trip.

    Slightly down turned face.

Small town home cooking. Had chicken fried steak and husband had chicken dumplings. Both were good. Pie was delicious. Waitress was sweet and visited with us.

The chili cheeseburger was large and messy. Pretty good. Fries were ordinary. Had a veggie plate with soup, purple hull peas and spinach. All were good by country cookin standards, overlooked to the rest of us, big portions. The waitress was good, the place is kind of cute and obviously popular as all the tables had been recently vacated after the lunch rush. The pies and cheesecakes in the case looked good but we didn't them.

The service was very slow. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it took close to an hour for food. However, the hamburgers were fantastic and the service was quite friendly.

Good atmosphere. Clean restaurant. Great service. The burgers were very good. I had the applewood bacon burger. It was very tasty. My only complaint is the amount of fries they placed on the plate. I'm not sure if they were running low or didn't cook enough but there were barely any on my plate. We had two burgers and the fries between us would have been about right for a single order. I finished my french fries well ahead of my burger. I think they just dropped one order by mistake and just didn't want to take the time to cook more. I'll give them another shot but if I get shorted again I'll change this review to one star.

Best Burgers within 100 mile radius? I think so, I had the Gusher Burger and a slice of Gusher Pie. This definitely is on the same level as Five Guys, In-N-Out, and Twisted Root.

Be careful of the "Hot as Heck" burger, the title is very conservative on it's description of the hotness. I had one bite of it and it was enough to feel the heat for a few minutes.

This is my new favorite when visiting Gladewater to see my family and friends. I can't wait to try more of their menu when I am in town again.

Great burgers but be careful ordering over the phone.  Getting an order home to find your cheese burger to have 2 grilled cheese sandwiches for buns is rubbish.

5 star burgers, 2 star results when calling orders in.  I suggest you take the extra time to placing to-go orders face to face, I have had much better luck that way.

They removed a burger that featured ghost chile sauce which was one of the main draws for this place among my friends.  Hot food is unacceptable while a burger with doughnuts for buns is fine for human consumption, go figure.

R.I.P. Hot as Heck burger, you were a good one even if it felt like getting my tongue pierced when I ate it.
