I learned about this a couple years ago and kept meaning to go but it's in Livingston, not exactly just a trip down the road. But we finally decided to make a point of going and....
Surprisingly, it's not all chicken. There is a fair amount of it, of course, but there are also beef dishes as well as breakfast served all day.
I decided to try the hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, my son got the wings with teriyaki sauce and my mom got the french dip with homemade chips.
The hot beef sandwich and potatoes were really good but SUPER REALLY SALTY. Â So where the homemade fries... good but to salty. Â My son didn't know what to expect with the wings so he trade my mom for her sandwich, which both agreed was decent.
I definitely want to go back and try a breakfast, they had a good selection!
The decor is rather boring but it's not a fancy place, it's a locals place and a truckers place. There were quite a few people when we got there for dinner and a few more came in to get orders to go.
I love banana cream pie there. I'm not totally sure what I ate before my banana cream pie cause all i could think about was the pie... *DROOLS* I recommend it if you like banana cream pies like me :D Customer service was cool when I was there. They are very friendly. Oh Yeah! I even got a foster-imposter plush toy :D They got very cool souvenir. Next time I go there I wanna get a Coffee Cup or maybe pen.
Review Source:I hadn't visited Livingston in many years.  So when a close friend had passed away, the funeral brought me back to attend the memorial and reminisce with good friends.  The after wake gathering was held here at this café.  And it made sense to have it at a restaurant that serves none other than Foster Farm chicken in which Livingston is famous for, plus the deceased had family members that worked for this company for many years. Â
This nice little eatery worked well enough to handle a large party of people. Â A buffet was set up that offered green salad, mashed potatoes & gravy, rolls, a variety of drinks, and of course fried chicken. Â Although our selection was limited, the food was good and I can't complain about a free buffet. Â Everyone was comfortably seated and enjoyed each others company as we were served by friendly and prompt staff. Â It made the afternoon go smoothly as we fondly spoke of my friend's life before his accident.
Now, this unassuming café will always be a part of my final memories of him.
I had to get gas in Livingston from a trip I had to Fairfield and decided to stop here in this little town to eat. I didn't want fast food so this place came up on yelp. Â It seems to have great reviews and I thought what's the harm in trying out a new place. Â So I pull up, and the smell of slaughtered chicken filled my nose since the foster farm factory was a building away. Â I almost didn't go in, until I saw everyone and their momma dinning. Â As I walked in, I noticed they have specials written on a board before you enter. Â Nothing on the specials interested me since I didn't come for soup, no I came for the chicken. Â You have to seat yourself and the server was very attentive. The place reminds me of my grandma's house with all of the old decors resembling the simple farm life. Â Ok, so the menu....AMAZING! Everything was dirty cheap! Stuff chicken for 5 bucks?! You cannot beat that price. I got the two piece fried chicken for 5 bucks and you can pick any side you want. Â My food came out and I was drooling..the fried chicken was just made fresh unlike KFC where they just cook it and throw it in the warmer until you order it. As I took a bite of my drumstick...I can tell this chicken was never frozen and was fresh. What a find in Livingston! So if you are getting gas here, come by to this place and try it out. Comfort food at it's best!
Review Source:I love this place. They have good food and you can't beat the prices! My favorite is the Chicken Breast Nugget Meal with mashed potatoes and a side of their awesome turkey chili all for under 5 bucks!! Seriously, food is sooo good. Their spicy chicken soup is great on a cold day too! They all have you can eat Chicken on Thursday nights just in case you love their chicken. We've been here on those nights and people come from all over the area for this chicken. They have improved their hours too. They are open until 9 pm on Thursday and Friday nights. Foster Farms Cafe is a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The only drawbacks are their sometimes slow service and their hours. However, if you are doing lunch you can call in and they have a separate line for take out orders when you come to pick up your order. Nice down to earth food, nothing fancy but VERY good!
