Great beer! Bland food. Don't order the veggie sandwich it's flavorless along with sauceless. The burgers look good but taste like frozen flavorless meat. However the onion rings were awesome and so are the pretzel rolls. I will comeback for the beer and beautiful patio views.

Went here a few Sundays ago and loved it. The buffalo chicken roll appetizer is definitely the way to go! The service was phenomenal. Only downfall is yet were out of their summer brew :( I got the batch 69 ipa and it was amazing. The dunkel and the ipa were my favorites of all the beers. If you have time take the tour too. Very informative. Can't wait to go back again!

Was up for an overnight visit and ate there 4/29/13 and noticed that on Monday's it is 1/2 off burgers if you have their club card, which is what made us check the place out.  Interior was nice, clean and had that brewery smell which I personally love.  Downfall they do  not have very many booths as I hate sitting in Tables.

Our waiter Andrew was nice enough and it was no issue signing up for the card so we could get the discount.  I only gave it 2 starts because the burger I ordered mine Med Rare and my husband ordered his Med and ours both came out well done and I do NOT like well done meat (we did not complain, we were in a rush and just dealt with it.)  I had the mushroom swssl burger and my husband had the blue cheese burger....he loves blue cheese but he even complained that there was so much blue cheese it was very overpowering and on a dry well done burger he was not that happy with it.  My son had the kids meal and he liked it...

Another reason for the 2 stars - we were drinking water and our waiter never came back to check on us and our waters sat empty through the majority of the meal and we watched another waiter walk right past our table with a water pitcher and just watered his tables in his section, not even bothering to help a table that was NOT his out (I used to serve so those little things mean a ton to a guest.)  My husband finally had to go to the bartender just to get the waters filled.

Food was not that great and servers could of been more attentive, we may go back for a half off burger on a Monday if we are driving past that way, but I dont think I can justify spending anything more on that food.  I will go and try the beers though, we did not on that day.

Root beer was ok. Food was fine. Atmosphere was nice. Nothing special.

Food was good, service not so good. Had to ask for items that was suppose to be part of the meal(pretzel rolls, dipping sauce for the onion rings), waitress, said she only served those items upon request.  I guess you have to order twice. Not impressed with waitress.
Had  dark IPA brew and burgers and onion rings, which we enjoyed. Price was reasonable.

Why do you go to a brew pub?  To drink beer.  Why are most of the negative posts either about not being kid friendly, the OK food, or that the wait was too long?  Why? Because they were looking for a restaurant that serves beer, not a brewery that provides food.  Take the kids to Chuck'y Cheese and leave the beer drinking to those out to DRINK BEER!

Most of the reviews were also from MI people one of which, after saying he didn't like the beer admitted    "I have the capability of drinking Great Lakes Brewery beer in Cleveland so maybe that biased MY opinion a little ".     Really? FMB gets a 2 star for beer from this guy!?!  You have to be kidding!

I am from Phoenix and close enough to the left coast to have access to great beers, including fantastic IPA's, some of which are brewed in Phoenix.  I was surprised that FMB had an IPA given the German tone of the town, but you know what, it is pretty good.  Doesn't stack up to the best left cost stuff, but hey, I am in MI, glad to get an decent IPA, didn't have to wait and found the braut to be just fine.

We stopped into the Frankenmuth Brewery the weekend of Easter for the first time.  We had a large group of 12 and 6 of those were kids.  Large parties beware with this place.

The place looks great, and it's huge with mutiple levels.  Live music was being played Friday night ... TV screens everywhere.

    We actually went two nights.

(Friday) On night one, we tried the micro brews, and the group as whole didn't like them.  But, most of us don't like micro brews to begin with.  I had the blonde, and it was okay for me.  My friend had one that was slightly darker that was just plain out awful.  So, be careful.

We ordered pizza for the kids, and some of the adults.  A few of the adults opted for a sauage dish.  Soups of pea/ham and french onion were also ordered ... tasted great.  The problem we encountered was that when delivering the food.  They got mixed up and gave one of the pizza's to another table.  Thankfully, the kid's pizza was fine, but it was the adult's pizza that was MIA.  We asked to speak to the manager at this point because it was going to be at least 15-20 minuted before a replacement pizza could be made.  We were actually all done eating when it arrived, and the kids were done ... starting to act up after a long day.  The manager took care of us though.  They took the pizza off the bill, and then offered dessert to the entire group.  We were really impressed that they did this ... that we in turn opted to go back here the next night because of how well the manager took care of us.

The food here is very good.  We didn't have anything that anybody didn't like ... pizza, good (three different kinds tried) ... sausage good ... soups good ... desserts very good ... beer, I've had better.  This was echoed by the entire group.

(Saturday) On night two, it took a quite a while to get seated, and we didn't really know why since the place wasn't really busy.  We got orders in, and everyone pretty much had entree's this time.  The food arrives, and this time ... one of the kids ordered sliders and one hit the floor on it's way to our floor/level so they told us that they needed to re-make it.  It didn't make it to the table until everyone was done.  My own meal never came.  I ordered Chicken Parm ... nothing fancy.  The waiter took responsibility ... he didn't enter it into the system.  We did get it taken off the bill.  No dessert tongiht.

So, after two tries, I'm left with the feeling that maybe this place is not really setup well for large groups.  So, I would think twice before going here with a party of 8 or more.  The food is actually very good, if not among the best in the area ... if it makes it to the table with the rest of the food ordered.  Large parties seem to have a long wait to get seated, and I don't see why given the amount of space available here.  Expect anywhere from 30 - 60 minute wait for a larger sized party.  Forget it if they're busy.

This place is fine for groups of 4 or less in my book, but I'd think twice before taking a large group.

Thanks to the owner/manager/PR person for getting back to me and appreciating the review!  My husband and I actually swung back up here on the day before Good Friday on the way up north.

It seemed like a good stopping place to take out the dog and stretch our legs.  And it was Frankenmuth Brewery we stopped to pick up some dinner.

We ordered the Hefeweizen- which again, was just meh but it was cold and carbonated....

And we ordered a large 4 cheese pizza with pepperoni (I like the simple pizzas... what can I say?)- it was delicious!  It was loaded with delicious cheese, the crust was super yummy too!  We ate as much as we could and took the rest up north.  Even re-heated everyone liked it.

Waitress- forgot her name.... Deidre? maybe... was very good!

We will keep trying new things on the menu if you promise to keep working on improving the beer!

First, it took 10 minutes for the waiter to come to our table for the first time. We ordered drinks, it took another 10 minutes. We finally ordered appetizers and again, it took way longer that we thought it should. We saw someone bring out what we thought were our appetizers but then turned around back to the kitchen. Out appetizers finally came out and it turns out it was ours and they were cold. The waiter must have felt bad and brought out a second, fresh round of our appetizers free of charge, the only thing that saved this review from being a 1 star. The rest of the dinner went fairly smoothly. The food wasn't exceptional.

The building and atmosphere at the Frankenmuth Brewery make it a good place to enjoy a craft beer. My favorite is the Red!
I was expecting a little more from the brewery than what was offered in bottles to every other bar and liquor store in Metro Detroit.  The seasonal special beer was still the Oktoberfest. Hello, it's March.
The food was overpriced; not unexpected in a tourist town. I had the $11 Michigan salad. The fresh greens on top hid the iceberg lettuce on the bottom.
My waitress was kind, but a little off.  Judging by her still wearing last night's makeup, she was nursing a hangover. It was funny to watch her tell every table about the ABV of their seasonal brews to people who were over shopped and underfed. They obviously had no clue what she was talking about and didn't care.
The best part was the great special on to-go cases of beer. $19.99 for 24 beers!  I picked one up on the way out.  What a deal.

Incredibly slow seating for larger parties.  We arrived on an early Saturday afternoon (non-holiday) with 8 people.  We were told 25-30 minutes... it turned into over an hour because they couldn't work out how to slide two tables together to keep us seated together.  They are totally unprepared for parties greater than 4 people - and it was ridiculous.

Food was OK - nothing extraordinary about it.  Being a Frankenmuth brewery, you would expect more German cuisine - but it's essentially just a regular American bar and grill.

I really wanted to write a glowing review, but it's just not there...

We recently visited while in town with family. It was just my hubby and I that went here. So seating for 2, no biggie, right?

First of all, it took the waitress 15 minutes to visit our table initially. No joke. I am overly nice and sugary sweet with people, and I even was about to leave. She was a huge flake, which was annoying when we were just trying to have a quick-ish meal and get back to our kids and the hotel.

We ordered the beer flight, which was super fun, and totally worth the $12 cost. Their beer is decent, not amazing. After finishing the flight, we ordered the Oktoberfest, which was definitely one of the more superior beers (the 69 India Pale Ale and the Hefeweizen were my other favorites; the dark beers were just meh). They were only $3/pint, which is an amazing price!

I don't agree with some of the reviewers saying the overall menu prices are high...I thought they were right on par for what you should pay at a cool, one-off place. You would spend the same amount at Applebee's (and....just yuck).

Our food was OK - we both ordered burgers (but of course our waitress didn't bring us the condiments we requested until we were almost done). Lacking flavor for sure. I upgraded to onion rings, but I preferred the hubby's fries. Also, the ranch? Pretty sure it was Hidden Valley, which was a bit of a disappointment at a nicer restaurant.

The atmosphere though? 5 stars. It is a super cool place, but as noted - freezing in winter. I think a beer and app on the patio in summer during the day would be the way to go at this place.

Will I be back? I'm sure. Where else do you go to escape the world of chicken dinners in Frankenmuth?! There are very limited options. Just hoping I have better service and pick better menu items next time!

For the past few year we have been incorporating Frankenmuth Brewery in are must stops when visiting Frankenmuth. I've only had appetizers and beer as a snack, before the big chicken dinner. Haven't had a bad appetizer yet. They have a few good beers, but now that they sell their beers at most stores. They just don't seem as much of a treat.

Sorry, Bronner's, but the Frankenmuth Brewery was our favorite place in Frankenmuth.  Skipping the more expensive, more traditional German-style places, we ate at Frankenmuth Brewery.  It's been so long since we were there that I can't remember what we ate, but I do remember it was good.

The best part of the whole visit, for my husband at least, was the beer.  He tried some samples at dinner, but then learned they brew their own style of beer similar to Killians, which is his favorite.  After buying a six pack to try back at the hotel (which was right across the street), he ended up walking back over that night to pick up three -- yes, three -- cases to take home, since they don't ship back home.

I was a little disappointed in this brewery. Thought most of the beers were mediocre. Really like the red, but they were out of it on tap and could only serve a bottle. I was also disappointed in the service. The food I did have, however, was very good.

Went on 1/4/13 and had a spectacular time.  Service was good.  We have the BBQ chicken pizza and 4 cheese pizza.  My teen daughters loved the BBQ pizza.  That was their second time eating that item there and it was just as good as the first time.  My wife had the fish and chips.  Wife says the fish and batter was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside.  Great beer also.  We had the Batch 69 which has a citrus flair.
Good experience all the way around.  We had 8 people in our party and on the menu it says they will add a 18% gratuity but they did not, so we gave them 20% .  We had a groupon also this time and received a case of the Winter Bock which is really good.  Drinking it as I right this review from Detroit.
We also took a tour of the brewery micro brew area.  We had some friends with us so they wanted to see it.  Good time all around.

I have always loved their Hefeweizen beer, which can be had at most stores.  But man, getting that and almost a dozen others on tap.  I did not care for the pilsner and the IPA was not as good as it was when I had it in the bottle, but I loved the other brews.  They had 3 seasonals, and they were great too.  This place would be the only reason why I could recommend to anyone to come to Frankenmuth - unless you are a fan of crowds and tourist kitsch.  It is also a great sports bar, although they (like every bar) I have been to do not voluntarily show college football games of teams from south of the Mason Dixon.

The only problem with this place is they never have enough staff. Every time we have tried to go here the wait is at least an hour, even though there are a ton of empty tables. If you have a large party you can try to make reservations but if there is a wedding or the lower level is rented out, forget it. It will be at least an hour and a half wait. Food and beer are good but doesn't matter if you can't get a seat.

I am currently craving Portabella Fries with raspberry chipotle sauce and a giant late harvest ale.  This was hands down the best place I've eaten in Frankenmuth.  The waitress was beyond friendly, our portions were exquisite, and the beer flight was better priced than any other local brewery.  A great stop!  Yummmmmmmm.

As far as any kind of a modern atmosphere goes, the Brewery by FAR has the nicest restaurant in Frankenmuth. It's huge, the outdoor patio is really nice...and they have a few booths which is like gold around here. The beers are wildly popular (the Ops Manager told us last night they are selling out in the neighboring 4 states), however I'm not much of a beer drinker.

I'll tell you we HAD written the place off because of the wacky liquor licensing going on in there...you couldn't get anything but beer upstairs for the longest time (they didn't have wine & liquor could only be served downstairs), however NOW you can at least get wine upstairs, so if you'd like to class up your Chili-in-a-Bread Bowl you're in luck. You still aren't going to get a mixed drink at the bar upstairs, or the restaurant. That's downstairs...which I guess is like a totally separate restaurant...? I don't know but they can't serve liquor in the upstairs part.

Anyway, because of that and the average-ish food (frozen: re-heated just for you), we'd stopped going...but for lack of anywhere else to go around here (literally), we've learned what's good on the menu, and have gone quite a few times for a drink & an appetizer.

Suggestions? The Portabello Mushroom fries (get ranch unless you want to dip them in jelly-they call it a "reduction", but...it's jelly), The buffalo chicken rolls, the super chicken nachos, and the pretzel bread. I've heard they also make good pizza although I haven't tried it.

If you're in Frankenmuth, and you don't want chicken...or you just want to have a beer and watch "the game"...The Brewery is going to be your best bet.

    I like.  A lot.

The hefeweizen (which I am undoubtedly misspelling) is absolutely delicious.  Apparently they have a sampler set, which we missed, but I was very happy with our beverage - the entire table ordered the hefeweizen and as a non-beer person, I would actually order it again so yeah, it's tasty.  Kind of makes me wish I had tried the others but I was allegedly not enjoying adult beverages this weekend so I missed out.  Boo to that.

We had eaten too much for breakfast but wanted to try the food so we got the mushroom fries, which were pretty awesome, and soups.  The fries are pretty huge pieces of portabella mushrooms, battered and fried and they come with some raspberry sauce for dipping.  Surprisingly good and I liked that there wasn't that squirt of hot oil/ mushroom juice that you get from regular fried mushrooms.  The chili is serviceable, though will not melt your face off, and the french onion seemed decent, even though my husband wanted his cheese melted a bit more than it was as it was a bit hard and stringy.  We also liked the rolls that were served, even though I felt that they were more like regular dinner rolls than pretzel bread.  The mustard that came with them was outstanding, though.

Service was pretty good.  Timely and we got what we needed when we needed it.  Portions were acceptable for the price, as well.  Somewhere we will go back to, should we find ourselves in the path of Frankenmuth again.

If you are in Frankenmuth, and want to slip away from the cartoonish style "Little Bavaria" head in here!

Nice wide open space!  Tons and tons of seating, very rarely have I ever seen people have to wait for a table/seat.  You can sit at the bar and watch a ballgame, or sit near the windows and have a riverview seat.  Patio is also available for those beautiful Michigan evenings! :-)

Service is always friendly, and a huge perk for the Hubs and I is the staff is actually schooled in the art of craft beer.  So when you order a Hefe, they don't just say "It's a wheat beer."  They will tell you "It taste like _____ and has a bit of a _____ taste." LOVE IT!  There is no better way of selling your own beer, than making sure the people serving it know what they are talking about! Bravo!!

The beers are very good...and consistant!  Oktoberfest is my fav, but we have not had a bad beer here yet.  If you are lucky enough, you can also find their beers in your local beer cooler at the party store! My hats off to Brew Master Jeff! :-D

All the times we have been here we have never had a meal...just snacks with beer.  Everything we have had has been good and hot!  Nachos were quite tasty and go well with a cold brew!

You can take a tour of the brewhause, which is awesome for anyone to see...even if you are not a beer lover (and how can you not be?!), it is really cool to see how it all works and what goes in to making microbrews!

I come from California were the Hefewiezen beer is readily available. It seems like here in Michigan its hard to find. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Frankenmuth Brewery makes there own....and it was delicious!

The first time I went there I we (my mom, g/f, son) went there we had to wait maybe 30 minutes on a weekend. The 2nd time there was no time at all AND we got to sit outside, riverside.

The music is always playing in the background and the service we got was exceptional, however we ended up getting the same waiter twice so I cant vouche for everyone else.

The food is actually really good and the prices aren't anything to complain about. For 2 meals, 1 tall beer, and coke our bill was less than $30. The waiter actually gave me another beer for free so I paid it back in tips (maybe that was the idea lol).

If you're looking for a change in scenery and a chance to get out of the same small town "hole in the wall" restaurants come to Frankenmuth brewery.

Have to say that, with all the mixed reviews, I was pleasantly surprised.  Great food, great service, only a 10 minute wait on a Saturday night.

Tried both the Pilsner and the Munich Style Dunkel lager.  Both solid choices.  Chicken nachos, Bavarian plate--all stellar but the mashed potatoes are not to be missed.  Not sure how they make them but I could have eaten a growler full of them.

This is what a Brewery looks like inside & out - they have done a super job with the look & attraction with the place.

They have a beer growler that I fell in love with - it has a metal handle & a lock tite seal that keeps beer for 6weeks (with CO2) compared to 6 days of the normal growler.  Only downfall is the Growler is $42.50!  The first fill is on the Brewery -duh!  & refills are $10.  Worth is I guess ... Growler is impressive looking!!

Summary:   The Frankenmuth Brewery is a place to eat in Frankenmuth where you can get pretty good beer and decent pizza.  They also offer a variety of other bar foods, but nothing too revolutionary or creative. It's a beautiful building and an okay addition to other Frankenmuth offerings. I personally don't love this place, but I eat there because it is the best available option in Frankenmuth.

Beer -Not so great, then again I have the capability of drinking Great Lakes Brewery beer in Cleveland so maybe that biased MY opinion a little.  The red was the best tasting out of the 5 people that were drinking the afternoon we stopped in.  We tried the sampler.

Food - We only got the nachos and guacamole bruchetta.  I am here to tell you now, do not get this dish.  Nachos were ok, overloaded with jalepenos but the avocados were not even ripe.  There was also a really odd taste to the pile of guac. in the middle of the plate.  If your thinking it was the cilantro, think again.  I love cilantro and this dish actually could have used some.

The service was ok.  Not very busy for a weekend afternoon.  We really only went in to rest our feet and have a drink, the food was merely an afterthought.  The place was huge inside and has the late night hang-out potential.  I might check it out after hours the next time I visit.

Nice patio and view from it.

I came here on a very random stop in Frankenmuth while traveling along I-75 Detroit-bound at the end of a business trip.  I had heard of Frankenmuth from my grandparents from a trip they made to Michigan some years ago and decided to see what the town was about.

The town is interesting and of course, being a beer fan and seeing a brewery on the main street - I had to stop and get a beer.

I tried the Dunkel along with an appetizer - the Eggplant Napoleon.  Both were great along with the atmosphere of the place.  Oh and the use of daschunds in their decor.  Weiner dogs!  Yes!

I got my bill and it was well under $10 - I thought it was a mistake but there must have been a happy hour special on appetizers.  Pleasant surprise!   I look forward to coming here if I'm in the area again.

My father is obsessed with Frankenmuth - so much so that he has claimed to want to be buried there.  For as long as I can remember, we made family trips more than once a year to Frankenmuth - and they almost always involved outlet shopping, Bronner's, and shoving our faces full of chicken.  Too many years of that, and you can really learn to hate the Frankenmuth chicken dinner.

Now when I go to Frankenmuth- I get to make my own rules. :)  Today was my first trip to the Frankenmuth Brewery since they reopened under new ownership.  The interior still looks exactly the same- and a good portion of the menu looked similar as well.  The lay-out is pretty open- with lots of windows on the backside for a nice view.

So my synopsis is - the pretzel bread with mustard is still fantastic.  The brews are all very decent - today they had 8 on tap, with Oktoberfest having made it's arrival YAY.  The menu covers some decent ground, and includes some great weekday specials.  Mondays are 1/2 off burgers and fries, which includes any of their burgers on the menu.  There are at least a dozen burgers and they are all a pretty good size.  Service wasn't bad for us- the waitress seemed a little stressed during the lunch rush- but she was apologetic and went out of her way to make up for any time we were waiting.

I'm glad the Brewery is back in business- I would rather eat here than stuff myself full of fried chicken. Ugh.

My wife and I visited on a Tuesday and took advantage of their incredible BOGOF pizza pie deals.

While my wife's pizza was above average and we did wait for a waitress for close to 5 minutes after being seated (like other have reported on Yelp),  I'm giving this place 5 stars based on my pizza.  I ordered their ricotta, meatball and red onion.  Someone had recommended their 4 cheese pizza because of how great the ricotta tastes.  I didn't want that volume of cheese so basically ordered a 'lasagna ingredient' type of pie.  It's was outrageously good.  I could barely keep from exclaiming on each and every bite.

I know it can be difficult to rate a restaurant based on one meal but when that meal is really special - it deserves to be Yelped about it for others to visit regardless of other menu items.

You gotta try this pie, bro!

Oh my goodness! I haven't looked forward to writing a review so much in a while :)

Last weekend we went to Frankenmuth mainly to spend some time at the water park with our daughter. Since we got there a little too early to check into our room, we decided to drive into town for lunch. I always love a good brewery, so we picked the Frankenmuth Brewery Inc for an early lunch.

There was no wait when we arrived just before noon. Our waitress took our order right away, and there were plenty of huge tvs with baseball to watch while we waited. My daughter and I also had a few minutes to use the restroom, which was clean and well-stocked.

I know it was just supposed to be a quick lunch stop, but I couldn't resist ordering the Herb Crusted Salmon. Especially since it came with asparagus. As I ordered it, the waitress gave a big smile and said it was really good. Yay!

The waitress was right and I'm so glad I went with my gut and ordered something bigger than I usually would for lunch. As soon as the server set my plate down, my three-year-old daughter pointed out that it was 'mommy's favorite.' (Yes, my love of asparagus is well-known since I feed so much of it to my family.) The plate was also set up way prettier than a regular brewery meal.

Every bite was delicious. I even finished most of the cheddar-mashed potatoes. My daughter finished her hot dog, and my husband said his reuben sandwich was fine. I didn't really notice them much while I was boisterously enjoying my salmon and asparagus.

Definitely "meh" as far as food goes, yet I keep returning.

I've been here 3 times now, with this past weekend marking my 3rd visit. A friend lives close by Frankenmuth Brewery, so it's an easy place to meet up and catch up over a few beers when I'm over that way.

My orders have consisted of the Philly Steak sandwich, Reuben, and Meatloaf sandwich. All were good, but nothing memorable. Filling, but not a lot of taste, I guess. The party I was with this weekend left full, but no one was super impressed with the food. I guess the beer helps to keep you coming back.

The one food that I will rave about is the pretzel breadsticks that come out before your meal. Those are worth fighting for.

Beer is good. I stick with the pansy Cass River Blonde Ale and Hefeweizen, but I've tried everything they have via their samplers.

Being stationed in Saginaw, it took some major convincing from friends to make the 45 minute drive to eat at this restaurant. With that being said, the only reason I eventually went was because they attacked in numbers. No fewer than 12 of my buddies raved about the beer and food.

This is a typical brewery/restaurant with enough room an tables to comfortably sit about 100 people.

Environment: low light allowed for a more intimate setting. However, this was offset by the vast number of people and amount of noise. It felt as if one had to scream in order to properly communicate with the buddy sitting across from you.

Waiters/waitresses: 50% were very easy on the eyes. Most serviced you with a smile. They encourage drinking beers and will always recommend a good beer to go with whichever entree you ultimately decide on. Not too quick on their feet though. Took a while to get our food, even when corrected for the size of our party.

Food: you start off with 3 different kinds of bread. They also give you this creamy cheesy grainy sauce. Slightly spicy (like honey-Dijon with some jalapeño) and sweet. I ordered the burger. Was a typical burger. Served with steak fries that were cold upon arrival. No dessert. Was the designated driver so no beer for me. The water and lemon tasted great, though. The beer is refilled very quickly. The sampler is one of the favorites.

Price: decent for the food you get.

Recommendation: if you're close by, then EAT! If not, don't bother.

I agree with the reviewer who said that Frankenmuth needs a good restaurant. The Frankenmuth Brewery has potential but I left disappointed.

My visit was on a day when they weren't very busy so there was no wait for a table. There was, however, a very long wait for anyone to serve me after I was seated. I was completely ignored for more than five minutes, even though I was seated in an area where there was restaurant staff nearby. When I was about thirty seconds from leaving, a waitress finally stopped by and took my drink order. I ordered a root beer which was delivered with a bottle but no glass.

My lunch order was taken, after which another long wait ensued for my food--the bratwurst sandwich. it finally came and, while the portions were rather small, I have no complaints about it and the root beer was delicious. The waitress dropped by to ask if everything was okay but turned her back and walked away in the middle of my answer.

So, in short, acceptable food if a bit pricey but slow, poor service.

I really wish I could rate this restaurant better but I just can't.  Despite having amazing beer, the food is pretty lack luster and the hostess did something pretty horrible we observed while eating our food.

The hostess was setting the table for a party she was about to seat and dropped the rolled silverware on the floor.  Instead of getting a new, clean roll, she simply placed it on the table as if nothing had happened.  I'm sorry but people wipe their mouths on their napkin and that napkin had rolled on the floor of the bar.

As for the food- the burger was small and pretty dry.  The onion rings were way too sweet, and ranch dressing needed some serious improvement.  For how much the food cost it would have been better to skip the food and just order some brews.

We really enjoy every beer we get at the Brewery.  The red is one of our favorites.  Purchase a pint and you won't be disappointed.

My wife wasn't thrilled with her Reuben.  I ordered the bratwurst sandwich and I'm pretty certain that was no bratwurst - was a red-colored meat instead of white.  The beer was great - got a great deal on Groupon for this place too.
But the worst of it was the service.  Terrible.  The waitress was nowhere to be found most of  the time.  We ate our dessert with all our nasty plates in front of us and I would have moved them if I knew where I could take them.  I had to order a drink from the person bringing our food.  Too bad - don't think we're coming back.

Me and some friends stopped here for lunch and beer-tasting, ordering every appetizer on the menu and the beer sampler, including the seasonals.

First, the beer.  I recommend the sampler since you get a lot of beer that way for a reasonable price and you're bound to find a beer you like.  I personally didn't like the  pilsner (which tasted strongly of banana) or the darker beers, but did enjoy the seasonals (the Harvest and Oktoberfest) which were pretty good.

The same was pretty true of the appetizers.  I thought the avocado wrap was pretty disappointing, along with the bruscetta, but the calamari was pretty tasty.

We sat out by the window overlooking the river in a German beerhouse-style barroom, which was cool.

You could easily have a disappointing experience depending on your choices, so choose wisely (or broadly) and you'll have a great time.

Our waitress, Effie, was also attentive, fun and quick.

First off, this is the first summer for the Frankenmuth Brewery after it was closed for 3+ years.  We're Frankenmuth locals and have visited the Brewery quite a few times since it re-opened.  We've only had poor service once, and that was only the third day after their grand opening and they warned us it would be slow that night.  Since then, the service has been great!

Overall, the food is good and I'm sure that they will be revamping their menu to include all of the popular items and discard the items that are less interesting.  We always make sure that we get a basket of the pretzel bread!  I would also recommend the buffalo chicken egg rolls and the chicken breast entree (can't remember what it is called).  I've also heard that the burgers are great!  We also really enjoy their salads.

Currently they offer six different craft-brewed beers.  Out of their current selection I'd suggest the blonde if you're looking for a "lighter" beer, the hefeweizen for something fruity, or the English IPA if you really enjoy beer!

If you've visited the Brewery and been disappointed, I hope that you'll give it another chance next season and give them time to work out the kinks. :)

*** If you're not a beer drinker, but would like to visit the Brewery, make sure you go when the Cass River Tavern (bottom level) is open.  I believe it is Thursdays through Saturdays.  They have a full bar and also some additional Italian inspired menu items!
