Ate here today. We ordered 2 taco salads, seafood salad and 2 key lime pies (slices). Best was the key lime pie. Pie was house-made by the owner. Seafood salad was lightly dressed, very pleasant, taco salads were not disappointing. They handled special requests as if routine. An altogether pleasant experience.
Review Source:A very cute cafe. Â I visited French Connection while on a work trip to Fort Myers. Â While I went for dinner, I think this place is definitely more of a lunch spot just based on their menu consisting mostly of sandwiches and crepes. Â Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the food here, just seemed more of a sit, eat, enjoy lunch-time type spot. Â
Anyway, you're allowed to seat yourself, so my co-worker and I opted for outdoor, street-side seating. Â Great view of passersby and otherwise a great feeling of the beautiful Fort Myers weather. Â We were promptly greeted by our server, who was friendly and attentive.
We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, and it was very fresh, very warm, and very tasty. Â For my entree, I opted for the choose 2 crepe -- I got the chicken and almond and ham and sour cream. Â The chicken and almond was delectable. Â I found myself wanting to eat more and more. Â While the ham and sour cream was also good, I felt it had a bit too much sour cream (note: Â if you like sour cream just a little, I'd suggest asking them to 'go lite' on the application). Â Overall, it was very good! Â
I'd love to go back and try other menu items, including their quiche.
You can eat inside or outside and watch the people enjoying the beautiful historic downtown area. Â If you like French onion soup, you have to try it. Â Wonderful broth with a nice balance of bread and cheese. Â I had the fresh fish diablo. Â The fish of the day was grouper. Â It was a nice size filet on top a fresh bed of spinach with grilled peppers. Â On top was a Cajun sauce and shrimp. Â I enjoyed every bite. Â My husband had the blackened ribeye. Cooked perfectly. Â The staff was very friendly. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.
