So, no complaints here. Not a one. The place is nice. Has a nice decor especially for a date night.
I went with my wife and our friend for dinner. We had great great service by Dan. Our appetizer of misto cake ($10) was delicious. I ordered the Pinot Grigio and that was nice ($9). Dan did forget to bring the bread out for us but we had read a review that someone said their bread was the best they've ever had so we spoke up and he brought some right out the oven and yes it was delicious.
I orders the veal misto and it was great. They come wrapped but in the middle is a bed of a gnocchi which was great. The meal  was superb. My wife had the churrasco w chimichurri sauce she enjoyed it but it could've used a slight bit more seasoning. Our friend had the filet mignon and enjoyed it.
For dessert we ordered the creme brûlée but it was slightly different (chocolate chip I wanna say) and it was AWESOME. We also ordered the lemon cake I think it was called and it was good. Not great compared to the creme brûlée.
Total we paid $120 for 3 people but we really ordered whatever the hell we wanted.
I'd go back.
I'm from New York, but I've been visiting my family in Cape Coral for about 7 years now. Â When we go out to dinner, it's always the same old song and dance -- chain restaurants with boring dishes that I could probably cook better myself. Â I usually leave wondering "Why do we support places like this?" Â Tonight, my aunt suggested Misto, which had been recommended to her from a friend she knows from a local bakery.
Misto is *hands down* the best restaurant I've been to in the Cape Coral/ Fort Meyers area. Â
Honestly, we were concerned when we first arrived because all of the shades were drawn. Â It seemed to be empty, but we pulled the door open and entered the simple, yet elegantly decorated space. Â Nothing makes me happier than seeing the chef in the front of the house; not only did he greet us as we walked in, but I observed him seating tables & talking to customers throughout their meals. Â Wonderful. Â The service in general was excellent.
As for the food - oh my god. Â First of all, the bread was fresh straight from the oven. Â One family member praised it as "the best bread she's had in a restaurant EVER." Â It really was fantastic. Â We each had a Caesar salad to start. Â I think these are hit or miss, so I rarely order them. Â But I sure am glad that I did. Â It was so tasty! Â Creamy, flavorful dressing in a generous portion for the price. Â ($5 a la carte or $2.50 with an entree) Â Entrees ordered were lamb shank, pork chop, lobster crepe... and I had the shrimp & mussels fra diavolo. Â Everyone used the same word to describe their meal: perfect. Â The dishes were different than anything offered in the area (thank god) and served in such an aesthetically pleasing way. Â The cheese around the crepe was bubbling. Â The pork chop was gigantic, yet moist and tender. Â The lamb came off the bone as just as the fork touched it. Â As for my dish, I haven't had such a good fra diavolo sauce before in my life. Â It was outstanding. Â The shrimp and mussels were delicious. Â This type of quality is exactly why you should support small businesses like Misto. Â Oh, and save room for dessert. Â I wish I could have put my fork into every dessert they had to offer. Â
If you're still reading this, you should stop. Â Get in your car and drive to Misto.
