Southern hospitality at its best! Friendly waiters and cooks who are especially proud of their food. Had a pleasant talk with the owner. Being northerners, we're not used to such friendliness. It was a welcome change. Food was very good. Steak was really good ... deliciously seasoned and tender. Lots of deep-fried goodness!: gator, chicken tenders (both the honey pecan and buffalo styles were delicious), catfish, and fritters of course. Yum! Peanut butter pie was rich and yummy too.

Visited their gorgeous horses afterwords. They were just as friendly as everyone else there. (Careful, Aragon the black stallion and Puppy, the new filly, give kisses!) They all LOVE attention and make you feel guilty when you have to leave.

I know the family had a rough patch earlier this year when the owner's wife was gravely ill, but things are back to being above par again. Definitely worth a visit! We'll be going back next time we're their direction.

We went their Saturday night.  Don't know if it has been a bad year for them or what because the grounds (dead puppy lying out front) and the house both look in need of serious repair.  The food was not very good - whoever is cooking needs to learn some seasoning techniqes.  However the Strawberry Soup, fritters and fried pickles were very good.  We got dessert and the Peanutbutter Pie was frozen so hard we couldn't even cut it and did not taste freshly made at all and when we complained to our server she did not do anything about it.  Would not go there again.

Once you exit off I-16 go about 5 miles and you'll arrive at this treasure of a restaurant in the middle of nowhere! You're immediately greeted by the beautiful horses on the property as you're entering the plantation. Several other animals to be seen, like donkey's and miniature horses. Site has some out buildings and an old Ford truck that will make for some awesome photo shoots. They only serve dinner, so I would suggest you arrive earlier than you want to eat, and visit the property, animals and take some photo's. You can call ahead to get reservations, helpful on a busy night! On to the restaurant review: I give them a 3 Star rating on the food, it is good food but not the best you ever had by no means but the location and setting is just so enjoyable, especially for kids, that I give it a 4 Star overall rating. This is a great Yelp find and I can't wait to come back!

Great southern cooking! Just happened to see this restaraunt featured on the local news while visiting family and thought it would make a great place to go... We're glad we did. From the complimentary fritters to fried pickles and frog legs and alligator for appetizers to fried catfish strips and ribeye steak, we really enjoyed it. Wish we had room for dessert.

We had great fresh lemonade and  sweet/unsweet peach tea.  I guess the liquor license was about a week or two away in July 2010, so no beer or wine yet.

Had a nice conversation with the owner and his family about the history of the plantation. Everyone was very friendly.

Get there a bit early to walk around and look at the horses. Call ahead to for priority seating... Oh, and there's a nice big table for a large party of 8-10 or maybe more.

Hours are limited to Thur/Fri/Sat... closed for special events, best to call ahead for priority seating (and that big table if necessary!)

The address can be very difficult to find and/or wrong with some GPS units. The exact lat/long is 32.49141, -83.20676 and can be seen on google maps here: <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FbwExwS&s=a5f06b52662b3889d5591391471145fb17a4b0bae89576a0206345a8eeb057af" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://bit.ly/bwExwS</a>
