  I came here with my friend the other night after a day of snowboarding at Gunstock. We are both from cities, where nightlife is in an abundance and knowing that this was literally the only form of nightlife in the area ... we were cautious. However, upon entering I was pleasantly surprised at the size of this place. The music was good, there was a dance floor, a decently sized bar and pool tables. Drinks were cheap, cash only, and sadly no coat check. Overall a pretty good place.
  
  ***Side note. I don't know if it's ALL locals that come to this place but we had at least 5 people say outright to us that we were "clearly not from around here". Tried not to take it as an insult...but we couldn't figure out what made us stick out like a sore thumb! Haha

  I'm back Funky Monkey!
  Same issues as last year. The bartender girls were outstraight making drinks all night long, but for a packed club they need a couple more. I suggested hiring a beer tub girl to the doorman.
  Same theme as last year, the "Anti-Valentines Day Party". Raffled off a snowboard and ski passes. DJ was giving away CDs to the girls.
  Door cover went up to $3.
  I will be back!

  Love this place. Me and my girlfriend discovered this place while we where up in the Laconia area. Huge bar, descent sized dance floor and a great dj. I do recomend finding an a.t.m. before you go. There is an a.t.m. there but there fees are crazy.

  My husband and I went to the Funkey monkey last night.  Pool tables, dance floor, a bar, what more do you need.  I liked that I could not smell smoke at all in the bar. Not sure where people smoke it must be outside. There were plenty of people there to keep the night fun. I hate going to a bar where there are only a couple people dancing. Lots of people on the dance floor and people having fun everywhere you looked. Bar tender was nice and gave me a bottle of water when I was a little dehydrated and it was time to walk home. It was 4th of July weekend and the place was pretty packed and I got service from the bar tender right away. We are definitely going back soon! I vote them the most fun place for night life in Laconia.
