Had dinner/drinks with 4 people. 3 of our 4 meals left much to be desired. Clams were sandy, scallops undercooked, fish tasteless and the entree was not served with what it said it should be. The service was slow and we had to ask multiple times for things (that should be obvious, like waters). Possibly the most frustrating part was that when these issues were addressed  with the manager, he seemed indifferent. He did speak to the waitress, but he did it while we were still dining, therefore making the remainder of our meal uncomfortable. All 4 of us agreed that we will not be returning. Note: one person in our party had the ahi tuna sandwich & said it was delicious.
Review Source:Great atmosphere. Â Outdoor seating. Â College kids for wait staff. Â That's about all that is good with the place.
The food was okay. Â If you want better wings or bar food try the place across the street - The Press Box.
As for drinks, stay away from their home made Bloody Mary's. Â There is literally no after-taste. Â None. Â Tasted like water. Â Couldn't even taste the alcohol. Â When asked if they even added Grey Goose to it, the waitress responded with "Ofcourse. Â I did it myself. Â It's probably 'cause it's Goose as it's very smooth and you can't taste it" - She looked like a freshman in college. Â Go figure! Â Any place that let's their waiters make drinks instead of a bartender.......
Steamers is a bar/resturant in the Econolodge in Oswego, NY. Surprisingly, it's not a bad place to eat and have a few drinks, especially if you are staying in Econolodge as I was. It's a little over priced but they make up for that with an awesome patio overlooking the river. If you go around sunset and the sun is glaring in your eyes just ask your server to adjust the sun shade a little. Based on the prices, I'd probable give them two stars but the patio and convenience of being in the hotel bumped it up to three.
Review Source:Steamers. Â It's a bar inside the Econo Lodge. Â Need I say more? Â It is nice on the inside. Â I'll say that much. Â They have a working toilet, which pretty much sets it apart from all other bar bathrooms in Oswego. Â Their drink selection is piss poor to be honest. Â I hear that they have good food, but I've never been tempted to eat it. Â The only people I knew who swore by this place in college were desperate girls who went to Steamers to get hit on by older predatory men. Â Too soon? Â Too soon.
P. S. Get your drink here and shirt signed on Bridge Street Run but get out quick. Â They don't even let you in the bar.
With the new Deck added this summer, Steamers is a great place to hang out, catch up with friends, have a drink and something to eat. Great burgers and appys. Drinks and food aren't the cheapest, but it keeps out the riff raff. Â Can be a little wild on certain nites with bands. Food is pretty good. Bartendars are attentive. They even have a smokers room, which is kind of weird. But I guess some people can't handle the cold winters. Â A great place any time of the year.
Update- the crazy late nite bar scene has slowed down quite a bit. Â Prices are still in the high side.
I prefer to go to Steamers on quieter nights. It can get packed when local musicians are playing like Dave Hawthorn. There are huge windows that overlook the Oswego River from the east side and a side room that attaches the bar to the Econo Lodge, I have brought cards and played in this area with friends. During the summers Steamer's hosts a Thursday night concert series behind the Econo Lodge. Although, this last summer the concerts began in late July as opposed to earlier in the summer.
Because this bar is on the east side of Oswego I have never really run into too many tourists, (college students). I do kind of think of it as a townie place. But a nice cozy townie place.
Steamer's serves your typical pub food, I recommend the spinach dip and one of their mixed drinks like the Jamaican Ten Speed.
