Galway Bay is far better than you might expect in a summer resort town, at least in terms of ambiance (Irish pub), and service. Â Seating is comfortable and the noise level is acceptable. Â They have a good selection of beer. Â What more could you want?
Well you could want good food. Â And what you get, for fine dining prices, is blah. Â Dull. Â Not bad but not good enough so that you want to finish your portion. Â And that's saying something for me, because I almost always want to finish my portion.
One standout: fresh baked soda bread.
I could be nice and give Galway Bay four stars, but the setup (ambiance, service, beer, soda bread) really raises your expectations, and then they are dashed. Â Not good. Â Sorry.
