I've been to Gameday Grille twice. Lots of flat screens. Â Each time, the food was excellent. Not just for bar food, but it really was exceptional. The burgers are great, the omelet was just as good. Each time I've been in there, the servers have been very genuinely friendly. They really want you to become a regular. Here's the prob. My wife ordered a bud light...$3.50 or so. I ordered a Sam Adams Oktoberfest, and then another one. $6.00 per. I've been in enough bars to know that this is a gouge. No one charges this much for a Sam. Just seems like a grab at the wallet.
Review Source:How is there only one other review on here for Gameday? I have not been Yelping lately but go here on a regular basis because the food is top-notch sports bar food. They do not try and reinvent the wheel here; rather, they just execute everything perfectly unlike most sports bars Alas, here are some details on why you should head over to this local joint...
The atmosphere:
Inside is a little dark but lined with flat screen TVs. The do not have any gigantic screens but enough to come here and watch a game. They have the bar area with high tops and a more typical dining room area. The outside patio is huge and wonderful. Very clean and partially covered so you can still sit out if weather is a little off. During Spring/Fall they have several kerosene space heaters to allow for outdoor dining.
The service:
Great attentive waitstaff that. Very friendly, never need to track them down, always there when you need another beer, water, etc.
The food:
Incredible bar food. Like I said above, they do not go for fancy gastropub stuff. They stick to mostly traditional items (wings, pizza, subs, etc.) However, they crush it. I have tried tons of items and here are some highlights:
-Wings. Perhaps the best in town. Big, crispy, and perfectly tossed in their homemade sauces. I suggest the Buffalo Ranch, Sweet Heat, or Gameday Hot.
-Pizza. Good, crispy thin crust style. I had the Hawaiian last week which was great.
-Appetizers. They are all good. Bavarian pretzels, Italian rolls, and Saratoga chips with homemade BBQ.
The only minor complaint would be the beer. They have mostly standard beers on draft and an alright bottle selection. I always go for an IPA or Pale Ale, and my options are limited. It would be nice to see them rotate every now and then.
In conclusion, if you are looking for great bar food, good service, and a casual place that isn't going to rip you off. go here. Now.
Great wait staff, everyone was very inviting. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and they weren't stringy cheese but more like cottage cheese, we didn't even say anything but our waitress noticed we didn't eat but one and asked us why, we told her and with no problem they were on the house! We were very pleases! Actually going back tonight! Great burgers and pizza!.!!
Review Source:Ok, if your favorite part of the pizza is the toppings, then this is the place to go. Â The amount of toppings is staggering. Â Think deep dish without the thick crust. Â Great place for pizza. Â The burgers are excellent too. Â Beer selection is pretty good. Â This place can get crowded and is usually pretty noisy, but it is a great place for a bite while you watch the game
