We visit this wonderful place for lunch about twice a week in the summer time. The food is always awesome (try the cabbage patch soup if available) no matter what you order. The locally made desserts should not be missed either. Â The staff is incredibly friendly and the prices are well in line for the quality of food that you get. Don't miss out if you are in the area.
Review Source:Just had lunch at The Gap Deli and couldn't be happier! Driving north on I-77 we used Yelp to search for something a little different than the typical fast food fare and saw the great reviews. Only minutes from the highway and perched roadside near a little antique store complete with a picturesque little courtyard, beautiful flowers and peaceful fountain. Cozy, clean interior and friendly staff already confirmed choice but it was the delicious pinto beans served daily with cornbread and chow chow that really wowed us! Also had good salads and many special sandwiches and soups.
Review Source:Ya know those times when your traveling and you wish you knew someone around the area that can tell you about that one little deli that you must visit? Well I found that deli ...The Gap Deli ! Â What a nice cozy little deli , it's decorated nice and very clean (bathrooms too) and the servers are very friendly and the food...wow prob one of the best sandwiches I ever had! Prices are great, So fresh and good portions can't believe they don't charge more ! There's seating outside too . Â My husband is a meat eater and we both had the Monte Cristo and he was satisfied and said it was very good and said "Mmm" often :) I had the pasta on the side and that was very fresh & mild tasting, I also got the garlic basil pesto on the sandwich and that was sooo good! Â I can't wait till we travel again cause I will somehow make my way through Fancy Gap! Â Its a gem nestled in the mountains! Don't miss it !
Review Source:A great little deli right off of Hwy 77 and the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Lovely gardens and outdoor seating. Â You can build your own sandwich or pick from several menu options, including vegetarian and kid-friendly. Â For dessert, there is old-fashion double-dipped chocolate nuts and homemade cookies. You can even get fresh baked bread to go.
Review Source:What a great find on a road trip up hwy 77, and worth the slight detour off the highway. I had trouble deciding among the options on the gourmet yet southern sandwich menu, and I doubt there was a bad choice. And they had tempting dessert offerings not to mention the wall of yummy chocolates and candies. The place is small and cute with friendly staff. Bathrooms are very clean, but no place to change a baby if that's important to you.
