Garden City Beach Bar & Grill

This is a great locals bar, full of Garden City residents who have been going there for years. I can understand Katie D.'s review, but she must understand this is a true hole in the wall bar, not a fine dining bar. They are, and don't jump when you walk in. They are on beach time :-).  

I really enjoy the quite, everyone knows your name, but let's you be personality of The Bar. Margie is the best, such a sweet lady! I have to visit her when I go to visit Garden City!

This place was odd. Not only did everyone immediately turn and stare at my friends and I when we walked through the door, but the bartender did not even greet us to grab our drink order when she saw us standing at the bar waiting for service.

We swung by here before heading across the street to Causeway's Bar, and even though the place was packed which is normally a good sign, the vibe of Garden City Beach Bar was too strange. Did I have something on my face? Is there toilet paper stuck to my shoe? Do I have a booger on my nose?

Garden City Beach Bar is a narrow bar. It's long and straight, calling for close quarters. The bar backs right up to the front door since it's narrow, and a bunch of bar stools are compacted closely to the front door. There were a decent amount of people when we stopped by for a beer, but as soon as that front door opened and in we stepped, everyone crammed on the stools turned to look at us and gave us the stink eye. Everyone standing up crowded around the TVs also bluntly turned around and starred at us walking in. Did we interrupt a private party?

I don't plan on going back. This place looked like a lot of fun, so we decided to stop by. We were only there for about 5 minutes before we made our way for the door.
